The International Game Fish Association (IGFA) is the leading authority on angling pursuits and the keeper of the most current World Record fishing catches by fish categories. Fishermen who are sport fishers are careful to follow their stringent rules for fair play and line requirements in order to receive the honor of being listed in their annual "World Record Game Fishes" publication. The publication also gives fishing tips, and has an extensive fish identification guide. The IGFA is also an ardent proponent of aquatic habitat conservation, and cooperates with biologists all over the world.
IGFA is headquartered, along with the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame & Museum, in Dania Beach, Florida.
IGFA's objectives are founded on the beliefs that game fish species, related food fish, and their habitats are economic, social, recreational, and aesthetic assets which must be maintained, wisely used and perpetuated; and that the sport of angling is an important recreational, economic, and social activity which the public must be educated to pursue in a manner consistent with sound sporting and conservation practices.
Summer camp is a supervised program for children or teenagers conducted during the summer months in some countries. Children and adolescents who attend summer camp are known as campers. This is not to be confused with summer school, which is usually a required academic curriculum for a student to make up work not accomplished during the academic year, whereas summer camps can include academic work, but is not a requirement for graduation.
The traditional view of a summer camp as a woody place with hiking, canoeing, and campfires is evolving, with greater acceptance of newer summer camps that offer a wide variety of specialized activities. For example, there are camps for the performing arts, music, magic, computers, language learning, mathematics, children with special needs, and weight loss. In 2006, the American Camp Association reported that 75 percent of camps added new programs. This is largely to counter a trend in decreasing enrollment in summer camps, which some argue to have been brought about by smaller family sizes and the growth in supplemental educational programs.
January 30 is the 30th day of the year in the Gregorian calendar. There are 335 days remaining until the end of the year (336 in leap years).

We have sent our son to both the weekly summer camps and the occasional day-off-of-school camp. We have never been disappointed. He loves it there and he comes back having mastered something new each time. The most important part, and I cannot stress this enough, is that he feels c...
Support the IGFA - www.igfa.org The IGFA’s Lifetime Achievement Award is reserved for those anglers, captains, guides, and manufacturers who have accomplished incredible angling feats, or have had a substantial impact on IGFA world records, Slam & Trophy Clubs, and other angling activities governed by IGFA rules, over the course of their lifetime. This year the IGFA is recognizing one of the most iconic, influential, inspirational, and deserving anglers in the history of sport fishing – Mr. Raleigh Werking. For nearly 30 years, Werking has pursued the world’s top game - compiling an impressive 47 world records on species that include Pacific sailfish, roosterfish, dolphinfish, red drum, and a variety of salmon species. Werking’s first world record came in 1987 and his most recent in 201...
Visit www.igfa.org to see more tutorial fishing videos. Captain Steve Huff ties this loop knot to his permit crab flies with tippet material. Huff created this know out of necessity when Del Brown was pursuing permit tippet world records in the 80s and 90s. A loop knot allowed the fly to drop freely unlike a fly secured with a clinch knot. The only problem was the loop knots commonly tied were substantially weakened the strength of the tippet material. After tying many variations of loop knots, Huff came up with this double-line 5 turn loop knot that held better than any other of the knots he had ever tied.

The past of Cambodia was not easy at all: especially because of the civil war, the Country struggle to develop and presents many social problems nowadays as well. On the 21st of June to the 5th of July, classmates and I attended the annual tour to Vietnam and Cambodia conducted by my School and SEA Travel. This trip was voluntary as it wasn't an ordinary tour, it was an opportunity to contribute efforts towards disadvantaged communities in both Vietnam and Cambodia. As well as seeing some magnificent cultural and historical sites, we also repaired a school in need of maintenance in the Mekong Delta (Vietnam), in addition building several houses with the association with Tabitha Cambodia (Non profit Organisation - http://www.tabitha.org.au/cms/ ).Our other areas of service included visits to orphanages in both countries (not shown in video due to privacy) and tree planting in a village outside Siem Reap, Cambodia. Harlan W. Major 1889-1968 2009 Inductee Harlan Major was a superb tackle technician and a gifted entrepreneur of saltwater angling. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Major moved to California following World War I. He held a number of jobs, from oil worker and car dealer to rancher and Hollywood stunt man. He also developed an interest in saltwater angling, and this led to the perfect outlet for his mechanical skills: repairing fishing tackle. Before long he was making rods, lures and kites which he sold to local fishing club members. Once Harlan opened a shop, it wasn't long before he was running the largest tackle business in southern California. Armed with West Coast fishing techniques, Major headed East in 1929 and was accepted immediately by the sportfishing fraternity there. It was...
