Classic Western Stars,Audie Murphy.
Murphy's first film for Universal was the Western, The Kid from Texas (1950), in which he played Billy the Kid. The movie was popular with the public and he made mostly Westerns for the rest of his career, such as Sierra, Kansas Raiders (as Jesse James) and Gunsmoke (1953). He was lent out to MGM to appear in The Red Badge of Courage (1951), but this was not a success at the box office. en.wikipedia.org

1953 Oval Window being cut up - 6.
Our 1953 3 fold rag top was found in a horrendous state, having been exposed to the elements for years. The floorpan consists mostly of fibreglass patches, the heater channels are non existent, the wings were hacked as was the rear H valance. It was decided that we would cut the roof off at the waistline, instead of just the sunroof clip, to transplant onto a another early roof damaged oval. Some other parts were saved: doors, W decklid, dashboard, switches etc. Watch as we take the roof off over the period of an hour. MISS BARBARA STANWYCK: SQUAW WOMAN
[PLEASE READ] Riveting clips from one of her final and finest Western motion-picture appearances. The motion picture is TROOPER HOOK [1957]. Filmed on location in Kanab, Utah. The sixth and final co-starring vehicle for Miss Stanwyck and Joel McCrea. Stanwyck characteristically invested her roles with great passion and conviction. As "Cora Sutliff," she does it again—and often, brilliantly, in silence. TROOPER HOOK was directed by Charles Marquis Warren, who produced and/or directed over four dozen GUNSMOKE episodes as well as produced over two dozen RAWHIDE episodes. His style is very spare, and this film plays out like an extended episode of either of the two most famous TV westerns with which he is associated. In my friend Ella Smith's definitive film biography STARRING MISS BARBARA STANWYCK, the author quotes the director: "[Barbara Stanwyck] is the most magnificent actress I ever worked with and, I think, the finest actress Hollywood has ever turned out....[S]he could have done some of the Indians' stunts better than they did." TROOPER HOOK was based on a story by Jack Schaefer, who also wrote the novels SHANE (1949), FIRST BLOOD (1953), and MONTE WALSH (1963), as well as several other short stories in the Western genre.IMPORTANT: This is a video of goodwill and great admiration. Questions or comments are sincerely welcome—but only if they are nice, clean, and comprehendible. If you are a professional and want credit I've neglected to give OR prefer that I delete ...

Breathless Shep Fields Ken Curtis Vocal
Ken Curtis was in quite a lot of movies over the years, but had no idea he sang for Shep Fields.... Ken Curtis (July 2, 1916 -- April 28, 1991) was an American singer and actor best known for his role as Festus Haggen on the long-running CBS western television series Gunsmoke. Curtis was a singer before moving into acting[3] and combined both careers once he entered films, performing with the popular Sons of the Pioneers from 1949 to 1953 as well as singing with the Tommy Dorsey band. Curtis replaced Frank Sinatra as vocalist for the Dorsey band. He was with the Dorsey band in 1941, prior to Sinatra's departure, and may have served simply as insurance against Sinatra's likely defection. Dick Haymes contractually replaced Sinatra, in 1942. Curtis then joined Shep Fields and His New Music, an all-reeds band that dispensed with a brass section. Columbia Pictures signed Curtis to a contract in 1945. He starred in a series of musical westerns with The Hoosier Hot Shots, playing singing-cowboy romantic leads. For much of 1948, Curtis was a featured singer and host of the long-running country music radio program WWVA Jamboree. Through his first marriage, Curtis was a son-in-law of director John Ford. Curtis teamed with Ford and John Wayne in Rio Grande[citation needed], The Quiet Man, The Wings of Eagles, The Searchers, The Horse Soldiers, The Alamo and How The West Was Won. Curtis also joined Ford, along with Henry Fonda, James Cagney, William Powell, and Jack Lemmon in the ...
