The Sound of Music - Trailer [1965] [38th Oscar Best Picture]
In 1930's Austria, a young woman named Maria is failing miserably in her attempts to become a nun. When the Navy captain Georg Von Trapp writes to the convent asking for a governess that can handle his seven mischevious children,Maria is given the job.The Captain's wife is dead, and he is often away, and runs the household as strictly as he does the ships he sails on.The children are unhappy and resentful of the governesses that their father keeps hiring, and have managed to run each of them off one by one. When Maria arrives, she is initially met with the same hostility, but her kindness, understanding, and sense of fun soon draws them to her and brings some much-needed joy into all their lives--including the Captain's.Eventually he and Maria find themselves falling in love, even though Georg is already engaged to a Baroness and Maria is still a postulant. The romance makes them both start questioning the decisions they have made.Their personal conflicts soon become overshadowed, however,by world events.Austria is about to come under the control of Germany, and the Captain may soon find himself drafted into the German navy and forced to fight against his own country. Maria: Perhaps I had a wicked childhood Perhaps I had a miserable youth But somwhere in my wicked, miserable past There must have been a moment of truth For here you are, standing there, loving me Whether or not you should So somewhere in my youth or childhood I must have done something good Nothing comes from nothing Nothing ever could So somewhere in my youth or childhood I must have done something good Captain: For here you are, standing there, loving me Whether or not you should Maria: So somewhere in my youth or childhood I must have done something good Maria and the Captain: Nothing comes from nothing Nothing ever could Maria: So somewhere in my youth Captain: Or childhood Maria: I must have done something . . . The sound of music soundtrack Maria: Julie Andrews Children: Charmian Carr, Nicholas Hammond, Heather Menzies, Duane Chase, Angela Cartwright, Debbie Turner, Kym Karath Lyrics: Let's start at the very beginning A very good place to start When you read you begin with ABC When you sing you begin with do-re-mi Do-re-mi, do-re-mi The first three notes just happen to be Do-re-mi, do-re-mi Maria: Do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti spoken Let's see if I can make it easy Doe, a deer, a female deer Ray, a drop of golden sun Me, a name I call myself Far, a long, long way to run Sew, a needle pulling thread La, a note to follow Sew Tea, a drink with jam and bread That will bring us back to Do (oh-oh-oh) Maria and Children: (Repeat above verse twice) Maria: Do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti-do So-do! Maria:(spoken) Now children, do-re-mi-fa-so and so on are only the tools we use to build a song. Once you have these notes in your heads, you can sing a million different tunes by mixing them up. Like this. So Do La Fa Mi Do Re spoken Can you do that? Children: So Do La Fa Mi Do Re Maria: So Do La Ti Do Re Do Children: So Do La Ti Do Re Do Maria: spoken Now, put it all together. Maria and Children: So Do La Fa Mi Do Re, So Do La Ti Do Re Do Maria: spoken Good! Brigitta: spoken But it doesn't mean anything. Maria: spoken So we put in words. One word for every note. Like this. When you know the notes to sing You can sing most anything spoken Together! Maria and Children: When you know the notes to sing You can sing ...

A Look at the Sound of Music Hotel
In the 1965 Sound of Music movie, Julie Andrews sang her way into the hearts of the Von Trapp family. Now for around 100 Euros or 150 US dollars a night, Sound of Music lovers can now sleep in the family's former bedrooms. STORY: It's no longer just the hills which are alive with the "Sound of Music". Fans of the cult Hollywood film can now stay the night in the original von Trapp family villa outside Salzburg, as it opens as a hotel. The "Sound of Music" movie, from 1965, is based on the true story of how the aspiring nun Maria sang her way into the hearts of Baron Von Trapp and his seven children. Maria Von Trapp, the second-eldest of the Von Trapp children, took a trip down memory lane. The 94-year-old revisited her former family home for the first time since the Von Trapps fled the Nazi regime in the late 1930s and said some things had changed. [Maria Von Trapp, Daughter of Baron von Trapp]: "There used to a be door here, and a fireplace there. So it's different, but it's still our old house." After World War Two, a missionary bought the villa and has now agreed for it to be opened as a hotel. For around 100 euros or 150 US dollars a night, "Sound of Music" lovers can sleep in the family's former bedrooms - or even get married in the chapel. The hotel's expected to be a hit with tourists from around the globe. Thousands of "Sound of Music" fans from North America, Asia and Great Britain, where the film has been popular, still flock to Salzburg each year to see the ...

Martin Talkz - (Episode 1): The Sound of Music
Hello again everybody. Now, just as I promised you at the end of the last video, I am now going to do my special surprise video in which I doing this suprise video based on 5 other YouTube user friends doing it on their respective channels (That being AubreyMan62187, MrBiggestdisneyfan, TheFlicker98, GoblinFan2007, and leafsfan18). Therefore, because of that, I have decided to being a brand new series on my channel called Martin Talkz in which I review some the best movies that I really love to watch. Anyways, for this first episode of Martin Talkz, I am going to be review in the extremely popualt 1965 Academy Award-winning film, starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, that is also based off of Rodgers and Hammerstein's successful stage musical, The Sound of Music. Furthermore, I am reviewing this movie because there is going to be an extremely big Sound of Music cast reunion tomorrow afternoon on Oprah. But apart from that, I hope you enjoy my first episode of Martin Talkz and for my next video, I will show you my entire Aladdin collection. Likewise, for my next episode of Martin Talkz, I will review the extremely popular 1992 comedy movie Sister Act so that will be coming soon as well.
