Wombat
Wombats are short-legged, muscular quadrupedal marsupials that are native to Australia. They are about 1 m (40 in) in length with small, stubby tails. There are three extant species and they are all members of the family Vombatidae. They are adaptable and habitat tolerant, and are found in forested, mountainous, and heathland areas of south-eastern Australia, including Tasmania, as well as an isolated patch of about 300 ha (740 acres) in Epping Forest National Park in central Queensland.
Evolution and taxonomy
Though genetic studies of the Vombatidae have been undertaken, evolution of the family is not well understood. Wombats are estimated to have diverged from other Australian marsupials relatively early, as long as 40 million years ago, while some estimates place divergence at around 25 million years. While some theories place wombats as a miniaturised relatives of diprotodonts, such as the rhinoceros-sized Diprotodon, more recent studies place the Vombatiformes as having a distinct parallel evolution, hence their current classification as a separate family.

Wombat (TV series)
Wombat was an Australian children's TV show produced at BTQ Channel 7 in Brisbane from 1979 to 1990. It was aired on weekday afternoons, and later Saturday and Sunday mornings, across Australia.
Synopsis
The show had a number of hosts or presenters who were accompanied by their co-host Agro, a puppet portrayed/voiced by comedian Jamie Dunn, who had previously became known on the program Boris' Breakfast Club. The show consisted of small educational editorials presented in a variety of segments. The segments featured a number of regular reporters including Eric Summons, Cecelia Martine, Craig Campbell, Fiona MacDonald, Fran Morrison, Bob La Castra, identical twins Gayle & Gillian Blakeney, Rob Elliott, Tony Gordon, Jill Ray and Gary Hardgrave. The program also included children as regular reporters including Scott Sutherland, Pippa? Some of these reporters performed double duty as host of the show, notably Bob La Castra and Gayle & Gillian Blakeney. Other regular guests included: Laurel Edwards, Michael Futcher, Stacey Thompson ("Ranger Stacey"), Ashley Wilkie, Kristine Davis & Glenn Hansen.

Here is an Intro of Wombat. Find more soon. Wombat was an Australian Children’s Educational TV Series made by BTQ channel 7 Brisbane for the Seven Network Australia. Started in 1979 ended in 1990. The show had a variety of Different Reporters going out and covering stories about Different Things. Also staring Agro played by Jamie Dunn because he was known for Agro’s Cartoon Connection. Won a ton of Logies during the time it was on air. Recorded off ATN channel 7 Sydney in 1986 I found this at an Op Shop Warehouse I work at. Taped on an Scotch E180 VHS Cassette, which was converted to DVD. All rights for this video goes to the Seven Network Australia. ...but she does get him back for it sometimes. Clips are from a handful of episodes in 1991. Agro's Cartoon Connection ran from 1990 to 1997 on Channel 7 in Australia. The show was filmed in Brisbane until 1997. In 1997 filming was re-located to Sydney. Ann-Maree Biggar left the show at the end of 1994 and was replaced by Terasa Livingstone for 1995 onward. The puppeteer and voice of Agro is Jamie Dunn. A big thank you to PertSnergleman and TheGraymaverick, legends who digitised their old TV recordings.

From 1979 to 1983 only shown at 4pm weekdays in Brisbane and Saturday Morning for the rest the Country due to Shirl’s Neighbourhood been on Weekdays at 4pm for the rest of the Seven Network. But when Shirl’s Neighbourhood ended in 1983. Wombat when National in 1984 at weekdays 4pm. During that Time 4 Logies for Most Popular Children’s Show between 1987-1990. The Show was the host and Agro introducing Reporters talking about stories a range of Educational and stories that they though kids would like, Kids like Phil Collins right? No they don’t. Agro was the stand out star of this show with Adult jokes that go over the kids head’s and when on to host his own show “Agro’s Cartoon Connection”. Sadly Channel 7 erased many Episodes of Wombat. This tape only exist because this person recorded the 1970 film “The Executioner” and left the VCR going and got Wombat by accident the a day later recorded “The Wizard of Oz” and paused out the ads and after removed the Record Tab. The Only Promos for Wombat were available on you tube. So I deiced to put it up. This was recorded off SAS channel 7 Adelaide on 7th of September 1989. I found in a box of tapes I got for Free from the Op shop Warehouse I work at on a Scotch EG 3 hour VHS Cassette, which was then converted to DVD. All rights for the video goes to the Seven Network Australia. I'm only uploading it for Historical and Nostalgic Purposes and the fact that you don’t see this on DVD, TV or Streaming services like Netflixs. Here is an Intro of Wombat. Find more soon. Wombat was an Australian Children’s Educational TV Series made by BTQ channel 7 Brisbane for the Seven Network Australia. Started in 1979 ended in 1990. The show had a variety of Different Reporters going out and covering stories about Different Things. Also staring Agro played by Jamie Dunn because he was known for Agro’s Cartoon Connection. Won a ton of Logies during the time it was on air. Recorded off ATN channel 7 Sydney in 1986 I found this at an Op Shop Warehouse I work at. Taped on an Scotch E180 VHS Cassette, which was converted to DVD. All rights for this video goes to the Seven Network Australia. I'm only uploading it for Historical and Nostalgic Purposes and the fact the they don't show it on TV or DVD. Sorry it’s not a Full Episode it was found right at the very end of the tape, but with there’s old VHS tapes you have to take what you can get. Agro's Cartoon Connection ran from 1990 to 1997 on Channel 7 in Australia. The show was filmed in Brisbane until 1997. In 1997 filming was re-located to Sydney. Ann-Maree Biggar left the show at the end of 1994 and was replaced by Terasa Livingstone for 1995 onward. The puppeteer and voice of Agro is Jamie Dunn.

Wombat was a Australian’s Children’s TV Series that aired on the Seven Network Australia made at BTQ channel 7 Brisbane Studios between 1979-1990 in the Wake of the beginning of the “C” Classification. From 1979 to 1983 only shown at 4pm weekdays in Brisbane and Saturday Morning for the rest the Country due to Shirl’s Neighbourhood been on Weekdays at 4pm for the rest of the Seven Network. But when Shirl’s Neighbourhood ended in 1983. Wombat when National in 1984 at weekdays 4pm. During that Time 4 Logies for Most Popular Children’s Show between 1987-1990. The Show was the host and Agro introducing Reporters talking about stories a range of Educational and stories that they though kids would like, Kids like Phil Collins right? No they don’t. Agro was the stand out star of this show with Adult jokes that go over the kids head’s and when on to host his own show “Agro’s Cartoon Connection”. Sadly Channel 7 erased many Episodes of Wombat. This tape only exist because this person recorded the 1970 film “The Executioner” and left the VCR going and got Wombat by accident the a day later recorded “The Wizard of Oz” and paused out the ads and after removed the Record Tab. The Only Promos for Wombat were available on you tube. So I deiced to put it up. This was recorded off SAS channel 7 Adelaide on 7th of September 1989. I found in a box of tapes I got for Free from the Op shop Warehouse I work at on a Scotch EG 3 hour VHS Cassette, which was then converted to DVD. All rights for the video goes to the Seven Network Australia. I'm only uploading it for Historical and Nostalgic Purposes and the fact that you don’t see this on DVD, TV or Streaming services like Netflixs. Wombat
Wombats are short-legged, muscular quadrupedal marsupials that are native to Australia. They are about 1 m (40 in) in length with small, stubby tails. There are three extant species and they are all members of the family Vombatidae. They are adaptable and habitat tolerant, and are found in forested, mountainous, and heathland areas of south-eastern Australia, including Tasmania, as well as an isolated patch of about 300 ha (740 acres) in Epping Forest National Park in central Queensland.
Evolution and taxonomy
Though genetic studies of the Vombatidae have been undertaken, evolution of the family is not well understood. Wombats are estimated to have diverged from other Australian marsupials relatively early, as long as 40 million years ago, while some estimates place divergence at around 25 million years. While some theories place wombats as a miniaturised relatives of diprotodonts, such as the rhinoceros-sized Diprotodon, more recent studies place the Vombatiformes as having a distinct parallel evolution, hence their current classification as a separate family.
