The most Beautiful Landscapes of Europe - Part 1
The Mediterranean Sea is connected to the Atlantic Ocean by the Strait of Gibraltar on the west and to the Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea, by the Dardanelles and the Bosporus respectively, on the east. The Sea of Marmara is often considered a part of the Mediterranean Sea, whereas the Black Sea is generally not. The 163 km (101 mi) long man-made Suez Canal in the southeast connects the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea. Large islands in the Mediterranean include Cyprus, Crete, Euboea, Rhodes, Lesbos, Chios, Kefalonia and Corfu in the eastern Mediterranean; Sardinia, Corsica, Sicily, and Malta in the central Mediterranean; and Ibiza, Majorca and Minorca (the Balearic Islands) in the western Mediterranean. The climate is typical Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters. Crops of the region include olives, grapes, oranges, tangerines, and cork.

Mediterranean landscape in California
www.facebook.com www.ceepackaging.com twitter @ceepackaging www.facebook.com A Mediterranean climate resembles the climate of the lands in the Mediterranean Basin, which includes most of the area with this climate type worldwide. Beyond areas surrounding the Mediterranean Sea, this climatic type prevails in much of southern California, in parts of Western and South Australia, in southwestern South Africa, and in parts of central Chile. The climate is characterized by warm to hot, dry summers and cool, wet winters. Mediterranean climate zones are associated with the five large subtropical high pressure cells of the oceans, the Azores High, South Atlantic High, North Pacific High, South Pacific High, and Indian Ocean High. These high pressure cells shift polarward in the summer and equatorward in the winter, playing a major role in the formation of the world's tropical deserts and the zones of Mediterranean climate polarward of the deserts. For example, the Azores High is associated with the Sahara Desert and the Mediterranean Basin's climate. The South Atlantic High is similarly associated with the Namib Desert and the Mediterranean climate of the western part of South Africa. The North Pacific High is related to the Sonoran Desert and California's climate. The Mediterranean forests, woodlands, and scrub biome is closely associated with Mediterranean climate zones. Particularly distinctive of the climate are sclerophyll shrublands, called maquis in the Mediterranean Basin ...

Behind the Scenes Baja | Episode 10: "Mediterranean" Mexico
"Mediterranean" Mexico is not necessarily a phrase you might have heard before. But in the Valle de Guadalupe, about an hour and a half outside of Tijuana, it's one of the ways locals describe their microclimate, which is perfect for winemaking and olive groves. As Manuel of Rancho Olivares explained, Valle de Guadalupe is apart of one of only 5 true Mediterranean climates in the world!

Cork Oak Bonsai Fall Pruning
A short pruning exercise with a recently wired and rapidly growing Cork Oak. Please forgive my referring to the California Oaks as "Mediterranean Oaks." I meant Mediterranean climate Oaks, but a police helicopter overhead put me off my game, and I have some unused footage from this shoot that will be in a future blooper video. Travel Italy - Touring the Canals of Venice
Take a tour of Canals of Venice in Italy -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats. Italy is a country of many famous sights, foremost of which are the Venice Canals. Canals are everywhere in Venice. You will not find any automobiles here. Because of these waterways, Venice has a reputation for being the world's most romantic city. Nearly as famous as the canals themselves are the gondolas that travel up and down them. Many of these boats are available to rent for guided tours or romantic voyages. It's an unreal experience to sail down watery "streets" between the buildings of Venice. Venice's mild, Mediterranean climate means that trips on the canals can be enjoyed year round.
