ROJS Radio-Interview with Rep. Maureen Stapleton
ROJS Radio was FIRST to break the story about Michigan GOP legislators violating the Mich. Constitution regarding roll call votes and 546 bills being passed w/Immediate Action when the constitutional 2/3 super majority votes were not present. This is a clear violation of the Michigan Constitution and the oath of office each elected official was sworn to uphold.

Montgomery Clift (1950)

Ring in the New Year with a Bell!
COMMUNITY LEADERS RALLY TO END NEW YEAR’S EVE GUNFIRE
By Edward Foxworth III
For the 14th straight year, Reverend Nicholas Hood III, has brought together individuals and organizations in an attempt to stop people from shooting guns on New Year’s Eve. What has become a tradition in many neighborhoods was responsible for the killing of a Detroit Grandmother, Sandra Latham, as she was struck by a stray bullet while sitting in her dining room. On Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 10:00 am, Reverend Hood will once again be joined by Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee, Wayne Country Sheriff Benny Napoleon, Local Clergy, HAP President and CEO William Alvin, along with AFPD President and CEO Auday Arabo, Local Elected Officials, the Latham family and a host of other concerned citizens at the Gilmour Conference Center, which is located at One Ford Place, for a Press Conference.
“Ring in the New Year with a Bell not a Bang” Campaign will officially kick off, encouraging Detroiters and Wayne County residents of the dangerous consequences of using guns during New Year’s Eve celebrations. “I am thrilled at the growing support that this campaign has received over the years”, says Reverend Hood. “I am also happy to announce that no one has been killed by stray gunfire in the 14 years of this effort, on New Year’s Eve.”
Concerned Citizens for the New Millennium Foundation, Health Alliance Plan (HAP), Associated Food & Petroleum Dealers (AFPD) and the Detroit International Bridge Company (DIBC) are corporate partners for this campaign and strong supporters for a healthier community.
Campaign Co-chair, District 4 State Representative Maureen Stapleton says, “We couldn’t be more excited about the involvement and role that everyone involved represents and we are deeply appreciative of our sponsors.”
What goes up must come down! So as this campaign begins, everyone is encouraged to remind friends and family to Ring in the New Year with a Bell and not a Bang.
