National Instruments has expanded its CompactDAQ platform with a stand-alone data-acquisition system that is compatible with over 50 sensor-specific I/O modules to allow mixed-measurement data logging. Using LabView system-design software, engineers can customize a data-logging or embedded monitoring system to acquire, analyze, and visualize data in one environment.

Powered by an Intel Core i7 dual-core processor, along with 2 Gbytes of RAM and 32 Gbytes of nonvolatile storage, the cDAQ-913x runs mixed-measurement tests, while logging data directly to memory—without the need for an external PC. An eight-slot chassis accommodates any mix of I/O and sensor modules, including analog input, analog output, digital I/O, and CANbus. Engineers can connect USB/Ethernet CompactDAQ devices, including the new cDAQ-9184 Ethernet chassis, to expand the number of module slots for large-channel-count applications or to integrate other devices, such as a camera or GPS device.

Base price: $6499.
