M2TW, Broken Crescent: Roman-Byzantines vs Ghorids
BE ADVISED, IF YOU WANNA SKIP THE SHOWING OF ALL UNITS ON BOTH SIDES JUST SKIP THE FIRST 10 MINUTES. This is my very 1st time i played against the Ghorids. I realised that besides they have some really good muslim units, if i'm not mistaken, from all muslim factions, only they have the 'Emir's Jihad Ghulam Warriors' who are really tough warriors.. so this time i chose the Ghorids against my Roman-Byzantines. To tell the truth, i know very little on Ghorids or Ghurids. If i'm not mistaken the Ghorids were Afghan/Persians or something like that & in this mod their faction has some great units & their flag looking similar to the Turkish one with the crescent & star (which the Turks took from Ancient Byzantium's Symbol) on red background but the Ghorid flag has the crescent facing upwards & the star on top instead of the side & with 2 crossed black sabres, so they'r not to be confused with turks. As for my Roman-Byzantines, i realised i wasn't deploying my infantry units the right way & not accurately at all (tho the byzantines had many reforms & changes) so after a bit of research i made (cos i'm still learning on the weapons, reformes, formations, armies, Emperors, battles, armour, tactics & equipment of the Roman-Byzantine Empire) i found some web pages info & on my books showing some early, middle & late Roman-Byzantine formations & the units deployed according to what line, era, enemy, terrain & formation they faced, among other info. The Basic formation was similar to ...

The Ghurid afghan empire THE SURIS OF GHOR
الغوريون ، الشنسباني قطب الدين الحسن عبد الملك عز الدين الحسين سيف الدين صوري معز الدين محمد بن سام sher sha suri The Ghurids or Ghorids ( سلسله غوریان Shansab were a Pashtun/afghan, Muslim dynasty in afghanistan. The Ghurids came from the Shan-sab (pashto white horse) family. Delhi Sultanate غوریان یا شنسبانیان افغانستان و هندوستان khurasan ghor kabul afghanistan kandahar paktia khost pashtunistan pakhtunkhwa indian SURIS OF GHOR AND THE SHINASP FAMILY Minhaj Siraj Juzjani, historian of the Ghorid court, speaks of other celebrated and powerful personalities of the Suris who were the ancestors of the kings of Ghor. Giving as his reference the Muntakhab-e Tarikh-e Nasiri one of the great men of Ghazni during the reign of Sultan Muizzuddin Mohammad Saam (c. 600 H./1203 AD) who had summarized the bulky volumes of Tarikh-e Baihaqi—this insightful historian regards Sur and Saam as two brothers of the lengendery Zahak. Sur, the elder brother, was in charage of the emirate of Ghor, while the younger brother, Saam, was the commander-in-chief of the army and their descendants were the emirs of Ghor in Mandesh, centuries before Islam. Another ruler from these Suris, Bistam bin Mehshad, ruled over the mountains of Shighnan, Bamian, and Tukharistan www.alamahabibi.com
