2011 Saturn Awards
This is the official coverage of the 2011 Saturn Awards, which I had the opportunity to compose the musical score for. Originally I was asked to come up with two themes, one theme for people arriving on the red carpet, and one theme for people receiving their awards. I took a little risk to compose the themes, featuring an Irish fiddle, voice samples ("we're dancing all alone in the kingdom"), and a Les Paul guitar solo married to a celtic harp in the middle, leading to a wildly different sound than imagined/expected, but was deemed awesome and fitting by the powers that be. Enjoy, and let me know what you think! Composed August, 2011 by Lev Marquis Videography by AJ Martinson---see his channel here; www.youtube.com If you have a film, video game, dance, or other work of quality that requires an original composition/arrangement, feel free to touch base with me: levmarquis@gmail.com

'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' & 'Super 8' Top Saturn Award Winners
bit.ly - Click to Subscribe! Facebook.com - Become a Fan! Twitter.com - Follow Us! All you science fiction, fantasy and horror fans that are tired of your favorite films getting the shaft by the Academy Awards finally are getting payback as the winners of the 38th Annual Saturn Awards were announced last night. We do have to warn you that the voting period for the awards was for movies released between February 1st, 2011 and January 31st of this year, so films like The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises weren't in contention for this year's awards and to be honest, some of the winners seem like they were released a LONG time ago, but they are some of our favorites none the less, so let's get started! . In the Science Fiction category, Rise of the Planet of the Apes won the top prize with Andy Serkis, who used motion capture to play the lead ape "Caesar" won for Best Supporting Actor. The film also took home the prize for Best Special Effects. . The other big winner for the night was JJ Abrams' Super 8, which took home awards for Best Director, Best Performance by a Younger Actor for star Joel Courtney and also Best Music. . Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 took home the award for Best Fantasy Film, while The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo won for Best Horror/Thriller and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol won for Best Action/Adventure Film. Best Animated Film went to Puss In Boots. Though this year's top superhero movies were left out, last ...

Tokio Hotel Hologram - Virtual Tour - Automatisch
Musion, the exclusive master global Licensor for the Eyeliner™ system, announced that its patented holographic technology is behind the worlds first ever Virtual Tour, which transformed footage of major award-winning pop-rock band Tokio Hotel performing live, to present them as 3D holograms to thousands of their fans in music retail outlets throughout Europe. This collaboration which allowed the band to perform in person virtually to numerous local crowds over a tight timeframe of three weeks was managed and delivered by Musion and Media-Saturn Management.
Media Markt, one of Media-Saturns consumer electronics retail brands, hosted the eye-popping 3D holographic tour in 13 of its stores across seven countries in Europe, and these events have been a resounding success scoring hundreds of thousands of hits on YouTube. Additionally, this is the first time that Universal Music Group, the worlds leading music company, has partnered on a Pan-European level with a traditional retailer to promote a priority act.
Romain Delnaud, Director of Operations, Commercial Affairs, at Universal Music Group International, commented: By transplanting innovative AV technology into a physical retail space, Musion enabled us to create a Tokio Hotel universe within each store. As the tour draws to a close today, we can already see the fantastic results, with audiences of up to 700 fans at each store, and know that we have accomplished our aim of supporting the traditional retail landscape which still continues to stand as a key player in breaking new acts on an international scale.
A key concern for any indoor event, corporate and consumer alike, is the health and safety of electrical hardware, and this was passed with ease thanks to Musions Eyeliner™ Flame Retardant (FR) Foil, which is the worlds only optically clear flame retardant foil to comply fully with current UK, US and EU Health and Environmental regulations to B1 class.
Ian OConnell, Director of Musion, commented: We have witnessed the growing popularity of Eyeliner™, which is based on an historic Peppers Ghost stage trick, and the high volume of fans in attendance at the Tokio Hotel gigs is testament to the status of holographic telepresence as a fantastic new video medium. With rising crowd numbers, it is now even more of a challenge to comply with crowd health and safety regulations, which is why weve spent the past 15 months developing the worlds first and only flame retardant foil to meet international standards.
