Reptile World Serpentarium the milking of the deadly snakes takes place twice a day, at 12 noon and 3 pm. The cottonmouth was not happy, and the cobra was ready to leave before the party. This unassuming cinder block and stucco building houses an impressive collection (over 50 species) of snakes from around the world, ranging from the familiar and innocuous to the exotic and deadly. Here you'll find the Australian taipan, considered by some to be the world's deadliest snake, as well as a splendid 18-foot king cobra. All told, there are six species of cobra and 11 kinds of rattlesnakes. There are also snakes you may never see elsewhere, like the brilliant pea green East African green mamba and its less startling but nonetheless beautiful West African cousin. Hundreds of reptiles could die if the heat and humidity continue. Police, Lawyers and passionate reptile lovers clashed on Sunday, May 29th at a Welland residence containing over 200 venomous snakes, several lizards and crocodiles. A month long battle has ensued since the death on May 2nd of Karel Fortyn, an infamous reptile collector of exotic species. He once owned the Seaway Serpentarium at a mall in Welland; but, for over 25 yrs the animals have been in his house.

orlando.answermomma.com - Just 40 minutes from Disney World, there is a fun must see roadside attraction called Reptile World Serpentarium. Reptile World is located in St. Cloud FL and it features over 50 species of reptiles including, cottonmouth, easternback rattle snakes, cobras, alligators, turtles and many more. In addition to walking through the snake exhibit, you should plan your visit around one of the two daily venom shows which are held at noon and 3 pm. During the venom show, Reptile World owner and professional snake handler, George VanHorn, milks deadly snakes for their venom which is used for research and for the development of anti-venom formulas. Life as a snake handler isn't always easy, in 1995, George was struck by a King Cobra and was hit with enough venom to bring down a full-size elephant. After spending 1 month in the hospital, George was back to work studying how venoms work. You should plan on spending 1.5 hours at Reptile World and it's one of the perfect things to do in Orlando when it's raining outside. This is on our top 5 things to do in Orlando that's not Disney.
