Cleveland
Cleveland () is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and is the county seat of Cuyahoga County, the most populous county in the state. The municipality is located in northeastern Ohio on the southern shore of Lake Erie, approximately 60 miles (100 km) west of the Pennsylvania border. It was founded in 1796 near the mouth of the Cuyahoga River, and became a manufacturing center owing to its location at the head of numerous canals and railroad lines. With the decline of heavy manufacturing, Cleveland's businesses have diversified into the service economy, including the financial services, insurance, legal, and healthcare sectors, though the city's population has continued to decline. Cleveland is also home to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The greatest cyclist ever, Eddy Merckx, in what he reminds as his favorit Tour ever, the 56th TdF in 1969. The 1969 race is unique in that it is the only time that a single cyclist has won not only the yellow jersey, but the green jersey and polka dot jersey as well. Eddy Merckx rode on the winning team, FAEMA, won the combination jersey and the combativity award, and had the young riders' white jersey existed at the time he was young enough to win that as well. So here is the moment where that historical moment started. We are rolling from Mulhouse to Ballon d'Alsace. The avg. for that Tour was 35.409 km/h (22.002 mph). Dave Armstrong, the master GM mechanic who keeps my Fiero on the road, did a frame-up restoration on this flawless, award-winning 1969 Pontiac Firebird 400. (Quick, all you old-timers. What were the names of the other Firebird models available that year? No peeking.) I'm always amazed at his ability to find NOS parts that aren't even being made anymore by anyone, especially GM. Dave takes this car to Pontiac shows during the summer; don't miss the opportunity to see it up close and personal. This video doesn't do it justice. If you have a GM car (or any other car or truck, for that matter), and you live in the Chicago area, take it to him. Ace Muffler, 7157 W. Irving Park Rd., near Harlem/Irving Plaza. (773)282-1444. How good is he? When he replaced the Iron Duke in my Fiero, his years of experience allowed him to take the old one out through the top instead of dropping the rear suspension and drivetrain, as Pontiac recommended. Yes, he knows his business. And anyone who would take a car like this into Chicago evening rush-hour traffic is either very brave or knows that he could build another one just like it, which he could;) That lap-dissolve at 3:16 was necessitated by a very rude, very obscene comment and hand gesture by the female passenger in that Toyota Yaris. Pure jealousy, that's all that was. That Firebird 400 V8 sound is music. If you have stereo speakers on your computer, turn them up. He's also restoring a '69 Pontiac Ventura, which I shot video of and will <b>...</b>

Winning is a 1969 American motion picture starring Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward. A number of racecar drivers and people associated with racing appear in the film, including Bobby Unser, Tony Hulman, Bobby Grim, Dan Gurney, Roger McCluskey, and Bruce Walkup.

Plot summary[link]
The film centers on professional racecar driver Frank Capua and his wife Elora (Newman and Woodward, who were married in real life). Frank spends too much time in the garage, pushing Elora into the arms of Newman's main rival on the track, Luther Erding (Robert Wagner).
Production[link]
During preparation for this film, Newman was trained for the motorsport by drivers, Bob Sharp and Lake Underwood, at a race track high performance driving school—which sparked Newman's enthusiasm for the sport and led to his participation as a competitor in sports car racing during the remainder of his life.
The film includes footage taken at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the legendary 2.5 mile track. Most of the footage is from the 1968 race. The accident during the first green flag is from the 1966 race.

The film score was by Dave Grusin, and the original soundtrack album was issued on Decca Records.[2] The opening moments of the film's theme, "500 Miles," was used by WEWS-TV in Cleveland in the 1970s and 1980s as the theme for their Million Dollar Movie.[3] [4]
