David Gothard, Producing Artistic Director
David Gothard : Director and Producer David began with Broadway director Mike Ockrent at the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh. He was invited to Poland to work with Tadeusz Kantor during early rehearsals for The Dead Class. After the play's legendary success, it transferred to open an empty Riverside Studios. Riverside would become London's pioneering, international theatre where the likes of Dario Fo, Samuel Beckett, and the American avant-garde worked side by side with British talent. David became Artistic Director of Riverside Studios following the departure of Peter Gill to the National Theatre of Great Britain, and was Artistic Director at the Leicester Haymarket Theatre from 1987 to 1990. American writers premiered during that time include David Hwang, Jean Claude van Itallie, Emily Mann, Sam Shepard and Todd Ristau. David has created writing workshops in Derry, Northern Ireland and repeatedly been invited to adjudicate and teach at the Iowa Playwright's Workshop, where began his pioneer work with Naomi Wallace, W. David Hancock, and other important writers. After ressurecting the National Theatre of Kosovo immediately after the war, his opening Hamlet toured devastated cities and opened the arts program of the World Aids Conference in South Africa. His portable, suitcase Hamlet with Joseph Fiennes toured Muslim China and Tibet, where they held the first ever workshops in Llasa University. Most recently he has been working as Artistic Associate for the world famous ...

WALTER WILLISON sings "OVER THE RAINBOW"
Broadways Walter Willison sings the iconic "Over the Rainbow", the song forever identified with The Legendary Judy Garland, on television, on the 1978 Southern California Easter Seal Telethon, hosted by Lucie Arnaz and co-hosted by Desi Arnaz, Jr. At the time, Willison was familiar to TV audiences for his starring role in NBC's hit Saturday Morning series "McDuff, The Talking Dog," and later that same year would costar in the Emmy Award-winning NBC/Columbia Pictures film "Ziegfeld: The Man and His Women." A Tony Award-nominee and Theatre World Award winner for Richard Rodgers' "Two By Two," Willison also appeared on Broadway in "Norman, Is That You?," "Wild and Wonderful," "Pippin" [as Pippin], Leonard Bernstein & Stephen Schwartz' "Mass" [the Inaugural Production of The Kennedy Center]. More recent on The Main Stem in the Tony Award-winning "Grand Hotel": The Musical, directed and choreographed by Tommy Tune, Alan Menken, Lynn Ahrens, Mike Ockrent & Susan Stroman's "A Christmas Carol" at Madison Square Garden, and Off-Broadway in the title role of Wright & Forrest's "Kean." Mr. Willison is also a published author, bookwriter and lyricist of seven produced musicals, director, and has performed on and/or produced 29 CDs. Lucie Arnaz continued on her road to success not only on television, but on Broadway in "They're Playing Our Song," "Lost in Yonkers," "Dirty, Rotten Scoundrels," and in such films as "The Jazz Singer." Acompanying Mr. Willison is Jeffrey Silverman, who ...

WALTER WILLISON sings LONDON IS LONDON by Leslie Bricusse
WALTER WILLISON stops the show with Leslie Bricusse's "LONDON IS LONDON" [originally written for Petula Clark in the film "Goodbye, Mr. Chips"], introduced by Chairman David Haines, in "Your Own, Your Very Own": A Night at The Musical Hall, a 1976 music hall/vaudeville revue at Milt Larsen's Legendary Mayfair Music Hall, in Santa Monica, California. 1976 vaudeville/music hall-style revues at Milt Larsen's now Legendary Mayfair Music Hall and Palace of Varieties, in Santa Monica, California. Milt, [the man who, along with his brother Bill, had founded Hollywood's famed Magic Castle] had taken an old movie theater that had fallen on hard times -- renovated, remodeled and redecorated it with crystal chandeliers, antique fixtures and statuary gathered from old Movie Palaces and Vaudeville Theatres all over Los Angeles and the surrounding areas -- and created an Intimate and Ornate Vaudeville Palace of Crystal and Gilt. So authentic was the décor that the theatre served as the set for many theatrical films, as well as countless TV films, series and specials of the day. [For "Harry and Walter Go to New York" which starred James Caan, Elliott Gould, Diane Keaton, Michael Caine, Joe Layton staged an operetta sequence there, written by Marilyn & Alan Bergman & David Shire, in which Mr. Willison serenaded Lesley Ann Warren.] Stars of the day headlined at The Mayfair Music Hall, but its mainstay were the revues, which played to SRO crowds made up of everyone who was anyone [Cary ...

WALTER WILLISON sings "THE ULTIMATE JOLSON MEDLEY" at The Mayfair Music Hall
WALTER WILLISON brings down the house with "The Ultimate Jolson Medley", a tribute to Al Jolson, the man proclaimed "The World's Greatest Entertainer" in the first half of the last Century, Al Jolson, introduced by Chairman David Haines, in "YOUR OWN, YOUR VERY OWN': A Night at The Music Hall, a 1975 music hall/vaudeville revue at Milt Larsen's Legendary Mayfair Music Hall, in Santa Monica, California. The medley includes: "Let Me Sing and I'm Happy", written for Jolson by Irving Berlin in 1928; "Swanee" with music by George Gershwin, lyrics by Irving Ceasar [1916] which became Gershwin's first major success when interpolated by Jolson into "SINBAD", the biggest hit of the 1918/1919 Broadway season]; "You Made Me Love You", music by James V. Monroe, lyrics by James McCarthy [1913]; "Rockabye Your Baby With a Dixie Melody", music by Jean Schwartz, lyrics by Sam M. Lewis & Joe Young [1918]. These same songs subsequently became identified with another of The World's Greatest Entertainers, The Legendary Judy Garland. Walter Willison first learned these songs back when he was as a kid, while riding in the car with his Dad [who had run away from home in 1928, at age 12, and himself performed Jolson songs in blackface in a double act at Vaudeville Theaters in Wheeling, West Virginia] and they became a staple in Willison's nightclub acts, from New York to Vegas to Los Angeles, in the 1970s and 80s. In 1982 he starred as Kid Kotten, a character based on Jolson, in the hit Off ...
