Find A Grave At the Baptist Cemetery Sucess

La Dispute - Nine
I recall once on the church steps, When I moved to kiss your chest, How we paid such close attention To each sweet and stuttered breath, I should've stopped to paint our picture, Captured honest pure affection, Just to document the difference between attraction and connection. I can see all of my friends and I break into empty buildings, When the coast was clear, With backpacks full of beer, We'd throw our bottles from the rooftops At the city; it looked endless. Guess I still don't see the difference between real purpose and that urgent adolescence. And I remember in a basement sharing sweat With all these stranger boys and girls, "We'll change the world!" We sang, "We'll change the world!" But, Nothing seems to change and They say none of them will listen, But I still see much more power in that basement than in heartless politicians. And if we get beaten by this winter, If we get strangled by regret, just Let our love of life and tension Gasp in sweet and stuttered breaths, and Have them lay us in a basement, Smash some bottles on the ground, and Say we couldn't tell the difference between the feeling and the sound, Remember not our faulty pieces, Remember not our rusted parts, It's not the petty imperfections that define us but The way we hold our hearts, And the way we hold our heads, I hope they write your names beside mine on my gravestone when I'm dead. And when we're dead let our voices carry on To find a better song. To find a better song and sing along.

The Doors: The Soft parade
I think this is their best song. Lyrics: When I was back there in seminary school, there was a person there Who put forth the proposition, that you can petition the lord with prayer Petition the lord with prayer, petition the lord with prayer You cannot petition the lord with prayer! Can you give me sanctuary, I must find a place to hide, a place for me to hide Can you find me soft asylum, I cant make it anymore, the man is at the door Peppermint, miniskirts, chocolate candy, champion sax and a girl named sandy Theres only four ways to get unraveled, one is to sleep and the other is travel, da da One is a bandit up in the hills, one is to love your neighbor till His wife gets home Catacombs, nursery bones, winter women, growing stones Carrying babies, to the river Streets and shoes, avenues, leather riders Selling news, the monk bought lunch Ha ha, he bought a little, yes, he did, woo! This is the best part of the trip, this is the trip, the best part I really like, whatd he say? , yeah!, yeah, right! Pretty good, huh, huh!, yeah, Im proud to be a part of this number Successful hills are here to stay, everything must be this way Gentle streets where people play, welcome to the soft parade All our lives we sweat and save, building for a shallow grave Must be something else we say, somehow to defend this place Everything must be this way, everything must be this way, yeah The soft parade has now begun, listen to the engines hum People out to have some fun, a cobra on my ...

The "No-No" Word for 2010-Introducing the P413x Plan of "Can-Do" Christianity
JOURNEY 2010: LIVING IN THE WILL OF GOD
This year I am calling Journey 2010. This is the year we journey closer to God as a church, as families, and as His children.
In order to do this we must embrace God’s Truth, and allow His truth to change our want to’s into His want to’s. Our Journey 2010 is all about what John wrote in 2 John 1:4 – “living the life of truth, as the Father himself instructed us”. Walking in the truth, Living out the truth, following the way of truth, abiding in the truth.
In the movie City Slickers, Billy Crystal plays a radio advertising salesman going through a mid-life crisis. He and his friends deal with the humdrumness of life by participating in a cattle drive from New Mexico to Colorado—an experience that turns out to be a kind of epiphany for all of them. At the end of the movie as they prepare to return to New York and the familiar routine, Billy Crystal explains to one of those friends the concept of a “do-over.”
Crystal is addressing his pal who, nearing 40, feels he is at a dead-end. "I've wasted my life." Brunno Kirby's character laments:
I'm at a dead end. I'm almost
40 years old. I've wasted my life.
Yeah, but now you got
a chance to start over. You know?
Phil, remember when we were kids? And we'd be playing ball and the ball would get stuck up in a tree?
And we'd yell "Do over!" Huh?
Yeah. You got a clean slate..
Crystal tells him that he can start over again. His life can be a do-over.
Phil Berquist: You know you were right, Mitch. My life is a "do-over". It's time to get started.
Mitch Robbins: I hope I can help.
Ed Furillo: Now I'm gonna go home, and I'm gonna get Kim pregnant.
Mitch Robbins: I hope I can help.
Something like that happens every January 1. We all get a “do-over"—another chance to do it right. If 2009 was a tough year for you, cheer up. It’s a brand-new year!
There is a biblical perspective we need to remember at the beginning of a new year. It’s a perspective that’s wrapped up in one simple word. If you remember not to use this particular word this year, your chances of succeeding are going to go through the roof. In fact, I think you’ll be happier if you make a decision here and now to cut this word right out of your vocabulary.
Cutting this one word from your life will force you to open your eyes to God, to His greatness. That is what Journey 2010 is all about-discovering the greatness of our Creator God.
Perhaps you saw the recent news report of the Mom who had a heart attack while delivering her baby. The baby was delivered by emergency C Section (without anesthesia) and her newborn baby was delivered without a heartbeat as well.
Dr Martin said she did not have a "great explanation" for why Mrs Hermanstorfer's heartbeat returned.
"Somewhere between four and five minutes she had been without heart rate and had stopped breathing a minute or two prior to her heart stopping," she said.
The doctors were then able to resuscitate the baby.
Despite tests, she said doctors were still not sure about what had happened.
However Mrs Hermanstorfer and her husband Mike have said they believed it was down to a miracle.
She said: "I got a second chance in life."
Dr Martin said she would take help from wherever it came.
This world ignores God. Clearly God was at work here. Perhaps he has great plans for this baby. The world just looks the other way rather than give glory to God.
This year I want to Give Glory to God! I want this to be a Hallelujah Year. So by official Pastoral Proclamation I am banning one word from use at Pleasant Prairie. That word is “CAN’T”. If you catch anyone saying this word at church, it will be a $5 fine. If I use it in a sermon after today, fine me $5.
That’s right. The one word you shouldn’t say in 2010 is the little word can’t.
We use it all the time, don’t we?
We say, “I can’t lose weight.”
“I just can’t seem to save money.”
“I try and try but I can’t find the time to read the Bible.”
“After what she did, I can’t forgive her.”
“No matter how hard I try, I can’t change, I can’t quit smoking, quit ….”
If 2010 is to be a year of Journeying with our Mighty God, it will be a CAN DO year.
In order to understand and embrace this wonderful CAN DO God, we need to understand a few “CAN’T”S from God’s Word. These Can not’s help understand how we can live in God’s will.
So here are the foundational Truth’s for our Journey into the Will of God and seeing Him as our CAN DO GOD!
Amazingly Gained by the way God used cannot in the New Testament

UPSO- FUEL TV Signature Series ID
For this FUEL TV Signature Series ID, the Toledo-based artist UPSO, aka Dustin Amery Hostetler, takes us into the mind of the artist imagining a geometric world full of bicycles, vibrant colors and abstract shapes only to find that the artist himself is also part of that world.
“I wanted to show the excitement I get out of things like riding bikes with friends,” says UPSO. “When life gets too crazy or stressful, it's things like friends and fun that get me out of my funk. It doesn't matter if it's paintbrushes or snowboarding, it's all about expressing yourself. I've always been amazed by the support action sports gives art, from skateboards to t-shirt designs and shoes, it all comes full circle.”
UPSO is known for his work with commercial clients such as Mountain Dew, Burton, Kid Robot, Sims Snowboards and Converse, as well as publishing the critically acclaimed art magazine Faesthetic. His artwork has been displayed in magazines, books and on skateboards and gallery walls around the world. He has also worked as a curator for companies like Threadless and Scion.
“I've been a fan of the FUEL TV Signature Series IDs for a while,” shares UPSO. “I'm a huge fan of the other artists who've done their own IDs, from Dalek to Andy Mueller. It's an honor to be among such talent.”
“It's always interesting to see how each artist approaches their Signature Series ID,” says FUEL TV's Creative Director Todd Dever. “Like actions sports, these guys really like to push each other to be more creative and carve out their own unique style.”
FUEL TV's award-winning Signature Series IDs are inspired by signature skateboard decks created for skateboarders by influential or iconic artists. These Signature Series IDs serve many purposes: to introduce the audience to new and upcoming artists and/or athletes, or to serve as a way for current athletes and artists to express themselves in art and music. Artists who have contributed to the FUEL TV Signature Series IDs include Dalek, Andy Jenkins, Saiman Chow, Chris Yormick, Trevor Graves, Andrew Pommier, Yogi Proctor, Dean Bradley, The Clayton Brothers, Todd Francis, and others.

back to the future…
dinky loop just weren’t made for these times. their music is of a better future or a golden past but somehow at odds with the present. to provide the perfect visual accompaniment to the dinkies musical catalogue, we are taking their music time travelling. our counter cultural revolution- codename: queens of disco sleaze- will travel back to before 1980, collect data, assemble it creatively with a loving, non-ironic spirit of the time and bring a fuller musical experience back to the future.
that’s the dream but, in truth, we don’t know where this project will take us. we don’t know if making videos as if we are back in the disco era- using only footage that existed up to that point- will help us get back in touch with the creative process after having become overly spoiled by amazing technological affects’ advances. we don’t know what we will learn from the idealism of past but we’re open and committed to seeing where the queens of disco sleaze project takes us and it can be viewed as it evolves, here on vimeo…

[optional reading for the thesis and probably best avoided :) ]
project guidelines:
no budget- this is an in-it-for-the-love only project.
no cameras or fancy editing software- making videos as if we are back in the disco era means we can only use footage and editing techniques that existed prior to 1980.
adopt vital creative attitudes of the era - post-punk three chords and the truth, disco grooviness and early hip-hop sampling techniques to make a moment from the past into something greater in the future.
find a way to express how creativity feeds off other creativity and how the future becomes the past and the past returns again in the future. normally this might involve cause-and-effect shots one after the other but we’ve found ourselves continually drawn to split-screen expression. wish we could rationalise this decision beyond saying it feels essential and right for this project to allow both to co-exist onscreen simultaneously, but we can’t.
consider each song and completed video as part of an entire series with its own visual identity in a way that factory records had an immediate identity through peter saville’s art direction. no band has ever had a complete visual identity through their music videos. a single thumbnail (with no words) should identify a queens of disco sleaze/dinky loop music video if the project works.
express the classic, but not in-your-face-modern, sexiness to dinky loop’s music through erotic visual parallels that can be found in the past. there’s often something exquisitely, undeniably sexy about the past- never remove the sexiness.
consider the alleged jean-luc godard quote: it’s not what you take, it’s where you take it.
never use poor footage of the past to make ourselves look good in the future. too much irony is a creative block. find great moments and potential stories within movies that had fatal flaws. find great people. find the forgotten heroes who could’ve been the next marilyn monroe but ended up with a one-way ticket to polookaville. and bring them back to the future to be remembered.
learn about filmmaking by trying to produce stories with old footage with the inventiveness of a silent filmmaker, instead of just mood pieces.
never use capitals and lower case letters. in the future no letter will ever look down on another letter… :)

Stratovarius - Glory Of The World
The sun is setting on the pain the people freezing in the rain the Earth is rolling in her grave I beg the light up in the sky to make me whole, to tell me why I can't be bothered to be brave and I've been waiting, and hesitating, and then I see the curtain fall: the wonder of it all my heart was blind, but now I see I know the power and the glory of the world I took a breath and now I'm free I feel the glory of the world the demons sometimes find a way there's nothing keeping them at bay but for the power of my mind the road to paradise is long and halfway there, I'm heading wrong I'm leaving all the pain behind the wonder of it all my heart was blind, but now I see I know the power and the glory of the world I took a breath and now I'm free I feel the glory of the world
