Exmouth (UK) Seafront being battered by a storm on March 10th 2008. We managed to shoot this just before the Police closed the seafront for safety reasons. THE BEST BIT.......Watch at 2-33 to see a Police lady try, unsuccesfully, to dodge a huge wave that crashes right across the road. Towards the end you can see parts of the famous Exmouth Dunes being washed away by the waves, also heaps of sand drifting onto the road. After this storm that part of the road along the beach was closed for 3 days while all the debris and sand was cleared away. Anybody watching it think its to dark/black please comment!) 43091+43149 working a special HST from Newton Abbot To Exmouth and returned, To celebrate 150 years of the Exeter-Exmouth line. I joined the train at Exeter St. David's. Though it won't be too full, But I was very surprised with the turn out, with it being jammed pack. At the beginning with how the guard was talking, I really though, we was going to get a guided talk all the way - pointing out points of interest down the line. Sadly all we had was "this platform is short go to first carriage only" ect. quite a lot of people turned up for their free ride in Victorian costumes. a very enjoyable ride and really well put together. I though that 'special plaque' was fitted onto the class 43. turned out just to be a sign at Exeter central. what was missing from this trip? Charity box. I hate them but for the journey to be a standard price, even if people put a few pound in the tub they could have easily made 1000 pounds to go towards something.

A big fire hits Exmouth town centre. Chaos as a blaze that started in the storeroom of Bargains Galore spreads to several other properties. More than 100 firefighters and 21 appliances worked to put out flames. Surrounding buildings were evacuated and the whole town centre closed down. Miraculously nobody was hurt.

We were chasing BIG fish surfcasting at exmouth over 5 days looking for GT's and sharks.After the first 2 days being hammered by them we changed the 80 pound braid to 120 pounds and then the Shimano STELLA 20000 with a GT Special rod smiled.Lost and caught about 30 BIG fish but released all.Tried to get footage were they jumped high up into the air but not that easy with a phone.See also "EXMOUTH GT"

Strandbeests at Exmouth
As part of Exeter summer festival they've got this great dutch chap over who makes crazy but amazing walking sculptures. We heard he had a couple on the beach in Exmouth so instead of watching England get whipped by Germany we had a far far better time watching this contraption and eating ice cream on what was a fairly quiet beach. Just to reiterate the small one is powered by you pulling it, the big one is wind powered, yes really! And its made of dutch cable conduit and zip ties.

My Metal Detector Finds from Exmouth & Exeter (year 1)
See my collection of metal detector finds, all found in the Exmouth and Exeter area of Devon. The detector used was a Minleab Explorer SE. I recorded this video (on the spur of the moment, in one take, with no practise and no script) to give me a way to show my collection to the passers-by on Exmouth Beach who often ask what I'm looking for. If you enjoyed this one, please browse at my other videos to see my even more impressive year 2 finds and the recording of a beach detecting session during which I find a stunning diamond ring (not featured on this video). I am always on the look out for new land to search, so please contact me if you are an interested local landowner. You will probably be very surprised at what turns up.
