Miocene - Fits Like That [live]
Some extremely rare live footage of Miocene. This is from special Total Rock show at the Kings Head in Fulham on 16.06.01. Lineup was One Minute Silence headlining, Miocene, Vacant Stare, Charger and Silva. I think there must be similar videos of the other bands out there but I've not seen them. Filmed and edited by Ivan Timotijevic and left in a dusty drawer for the last ten years. Enjoy.

Miocene Epoch - Florida Fossils: Evolution of Life and Land
This video from the Museum's Florida Fossils exhibit describes the Miocene Epoch, 24 million to 5 million years ago. While much of the Northern Hemisphere was becoming cooler, the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico protected Florida. Still, Florida's climate became increasingly drier and more seasonal, particularly during the late Miocene. Shallow water marine habitats supported thousands of species of marine animals and plants. Life on land was becoming increasingly more abundant. The spread of grassland savannas with mixed woodlands offered a wide range of plant foods for grazing and browsing mammals. Florida had giant tortoises, giant sloths, elephant-like proboscideans, tapirs, camels, horses, rhinos, and, of course, predators, like bear-dogs and saber-toothed false cats. Produced, directed and filmed for the Florida Museum of Natural History by Wes C. Skiles/Karst Productions, Inc.

Naturwissenschaften The earliest record of birch mice from the Early Miocene Nei Mongol, China Naturwissenschaften Volume 98, Number 1, 87-95, DOI: 10.1007/s00114-010-0744-1 smu.academia.edu Tiny teeth discovered in Inner Mongolia belong to the prehistoric ancestor of the modern-day birch mouse. The 17-million-year-old teeth belong to a new species of birch mouse, Sicista primus, identified by paleontologist Yuri Kimura, Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Kimura, a member of the scientific team that discovered the fossils, says the find distinguishes the genus Sicista as a "living fossil, placing it among some of the most unique rodents on earth — those whose ancestry spans 2 to 3 times the average. Little known by most people is the fact that almost every, if not every, major branch of modern science has been founded by a scientist who believed in Christ:
Christianity and The Birth of Science - Michael Bumbulis, Ph.D
Excerpt: Furthermore, many of these founders of science lived at a time when others publicly expressed views quite contrary to Christianity - Hume, Hobbes, Darwin, etc. When Boyle argues against Hobbe's materialism or Kelvin argues against Darwin's assumptions, you don't have a case of "closet atheists."

How Teleportation Will Work -
Excerpt: In 1993, the idea of teleportation moved out of the realm of science fiction and into the world of theoretical possibility. It was then that physicist Charles Bennett and a team of researchers at IBM confirmed that quantum teleportation was possible, but only if the original object being teleported was destroyed. --- As predicted, the original photon no longer existed once the replica was made.

According to esteemed British mathematical physicist Roger Penrose (1931-present), the precision of the initial entropy of the universe, required such precision that the "Creator’s aim must have been to an accuracy of 1 part in 10^10^123”. This number is gargantuan. If this number were written out in its entirety, 1 with 10^123 zeros to the right, it could not be written on a piece of paper the size of the entire visible universe, even if a number were written down on each sub-atomic particle in the entire universe, since the universe only has 10^80 sub-atomic particles in it.

Unknown Miocene Plant found at The Royal Peacock Opal Mine
While mining for opal at The Royal Peacock Opal Mine in 2005 I extracted the remains of a plant that has yet to be identified. I was a student of Geology at the University of Washington when I made this discovery. Fellow miners, including the owner of the mine, couldn't believe what I had found. The owner stated, "In fifty years of owning and operating this mine I've never seen anything like it...and it's special." Upon returning from my trip, I tried to identify this special plant. I took it to the University of Washington's botany department, the Burke Museum, and other departments who may specialize in paleobotany. Although they were able to rule out certain plant families, they were still unable to identify it. One Ph D student I met with wanted to use it for his dissertation. He planned to crush it into pieces in hopes of finding it's DNA sequence and possibly grow it (I do have 3 seeds along with it). I denied the student's offer because I didn't feel he had the right resources and experience for the job. My pursuit only went as far as UW's campus. I've been told the implications of this find could be extraordinary. It may contribute to an important link in science and even medicine. I welcome any information to help identify this plant. Pease share this link with others. I have it preserved as instructed and would be willing to make accommodations to show. I welcome comments as well.. Thank you, Matt Talbott
