Iran, accused by western states for making nuclear weapons, encourages developing nations to oppose all sanctions coming from western countries pertaining to their nuclear program aimed at providing civilian benefits for energy and livelihood.

On Sunday, Iran welcomed 120 delegates to its Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) developing nations summit. Iran Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi stated at the start of the summit that opposing economic sanctions for non-aligned countries must be enacted.

The NAM had high security. The meeting, held in Tehran, had police and security units going around the entire district to beware of protests and prevent the 2009 catastrophe where millions caused riots in the streets.

Among the participants were fifty heads of government from other countries and eighty foreign ministers and higher. Iran aims to develop and grow Tehran-Cairo relations, which is greatly juxtaposed to their cultural roots as Shiite Iran is in opposition to Sunni Egypt.

The Irani Nuclear Program, which was reportedly attacked several times by viruses and other covert and electronic software, aims to provide energy to meet the demanding needs of the country. U.S. and most of the U.N. security council deem that the nuclear program is only a front for Iran to develop a nuclear weapons research program.

The death of a local leader of the Islamic Renaissance Party (IRPT) leaves many members of the Islamic opposition party to speculate that the Tajikistan military was responsible. Tajikistan troops were in the area of Gorno-Badakhshan to deal with armed groups when the local leader was killed and another was kidnapped. An IRPT office was also burned down in Dushanbe. IRPT has been hit with attacks from unknown parties in the recent weeks.

Sabzali Mahmadrizoev, a party head in Gorno-Badakhshan, disappeared after detainment for speaking at a protest rally in Badakhshan’s city of Khorog on July 23. Three days later, his body was found near an army base. IRPT speculates that Mahmadrizoev’s death was murder by the security and army officials.

Sherik Karamkhudoyev, the party head of Khorog office, went missing a day after Mahmadrizoev. After 14 days, the State Committee on National Security (GKNB) stated that they detained him in Dushanbe. The office of Karamkhudoyev was searched. The office was in shambles and IRPT employees stated that the soldiers called them terrorists. It was also reported that Karamkhudoyev was not allowed a lawyer or even to see his family.

The IRPT is one of the legally registered Islamic opposition parties after the civil war in Tajikistan in the 1990′s. The party often faced pressure from President Imomali Rahmon’s government. While the party holds two seats in Tajikistan’s 63 seat legislation, they are still called terrorists by other government officials for demanding a “democratic, secular state with the rule of law”.

British Petroleum (BP) in July 16 of this year in Ashgabat launched its latest edition of its Statistical Review. It was found that BP did not report properly about the oil reserves of Turkmenistan. A confrontation of a local newspaper journalist revealed that BP was not reporting the oil reserves of Turkmenistan properly.

BP, a well-known oil company, evaluates the oil reserves in the different countries of central Asia. Turkmenistan was often given a small figure of gas reserves when it proposed a gas export project with the company. Many experts and analysts from the company often quoted the amount stipulated by BP, which led to confusion as many other analysts deny the said small amount.

In the recent Statistical Review, Turkmenistan came from small numbers to be reported to have 24.3 trillion cubic meters of gas reserves based from government figures.

Local journalists confronted BP of its actions. The legitimacy of their evaluation prove to be erroneous and the journalists told BP that it forfeited its reputation, its future negotiations with the affected country and it was using the new data as a means to re-negotiate contracts as it would benefit them greatly.

BP said that it only took data at face value, based on the actual numbers their experts have received. However, word was still not clear about the sudden fluctuation in the gas reserve numbers.

Filing a PPI claim is a right of any UK citizen. Nowadays, it is much easier to do so. The efforts of the Financial Services Authority (FSA) to establish new claims guidelines earned the United Kingdom a £3.2 billion (recently became £5 billion) in compensation for mis sold PPI. The amount has reached £5 billion previously as 10.8 million UK citizens are still anticipated to make their claims.

Which?, the consumer group who found the issue of mis sold PPI, successfully simplified the PPI claims process in the agreement of banks and PPI providers. PPI claims can be directly sent to the establishments of banks and PPI providers through letters. The claims can be settled in person. The consumer group and other concerned citizens find that the PPI claims process was unnecessarily long and complex. The simplified PPI claims process ensures that any claimant can get back all their repayments.

PPI or payment protection insurance is actually a beneficial insurance product. It can provide 12 months of loan, mortgage or credit card repayments in case customers have problems with income. Taking leave from work to recover from serious sicknesses and accidents, or when the customer gets unemployed during their repayment period, the PPI will guarantee its benefits. However, because many customers were mis sold or ineligible for the insurance, the PPI became infamous for stealing money from customers.

An election race for parliament is currently happening in Georgia. However, citizens do not feel enthusiasm about their elections. Georgia, greatly afflicted by poverty, has an unemployment rate of 30%, leaving many of its citizens more concerned about fulfilling their basic needs, having a job and having access to proper health care.

A survey from the National Democratic Institute from Washington DC states that most people are not as concerned about the fairness of the election than their personal needs. The government and the opposition party Georgian Dream, led respectively by prime minister Vano Merabishvili and billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili, are competing to win the elections this year.

Both parties are aware of the situation. Prime minister Merabishvili had allotted four billion lari ($2.41 billion) as an investment in the agricultural sector, a new state ministry for employment and easier access to health insurances. Ivanishvili had invested 1 billion lari ($600 million) for the agricultural sector. The agricultural sector makes up 55.6% of the jobs that Georgia generates. The Georgian Dream’s representatives also state that they would provide investments for healhcare and education.

The Georgian Dream opposition party had also staged rallies and opened up many healthcare clinics in many towns and villages all over Georgia. However, Georgia needs more jobs. Many citizens state that to have a job, they must travel to Georgia’s capital, Tblisi. Before, all the electoral campaigns only happen in the capital. Georgian Dream has changed this by bringing the campaign to the small towns themselves.

The lasting effect of this effort can prove that, in Georgia, the capital is not just the center of politics.

If labor rights are automatically considered a political issue, then any trade union that exists in Kazakhstan will automatically need to contend with the government. Esenbek Ukteshbaev, the leader of the Janartu Trade Union, has held many labor rights group meetings and had in the cross hairs of the Kazakhstan government for years.

Esenbek Ukteshbaev has been threatened with supposedly ‘framed’ cases by the Kazakhstan authorities. One of which is preventing the eviction of a family. They released a statement after hiding in Russia about the Kazakh authorities trying to build a case that they were behind the unrest in the town of Zhanaozen last December and the protests of sacked oil workers.

He describes that labor rights being a major deal in the political system of Kazakhstan disable the people to hold labor meetings. Ukteshbaev states that they were threatened after they held unofficial trade meetings. To hold a trade meeting, a trade union will need to secure an application and approval from the government. This never happened despite many attempts of application.

Esenbek Ukteshbaev states that every detail of labor right that one labor group points out, which includes pension, pay increase, improved working conditions and the like are considered highly political. He also speculates that some people in the government want to get rid of them by sending out ‘front men’. Some appeared to be social protest groups and other demeaning organizations.

The Ohi nuclear power plant in Tokyo was restored to full operational use last Sunday. However, it was met with distaste from many of Tokyo’s citizens. Many Japanese citizens find it difficult to once again use nuclear power following the disaster of the Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear reactor, which caused a meltdown that fared much more disastrous results than Chernobyl in the past.

Protesters danced at the gates of the Ohi nuclear power plant on Sunday. Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda ordered the restarts of the no. 3 and no. 4 reactors because they needed to restore the quality of life in Japan. JHowever, out of fear that the Fukushima Incident might be repeated, many were against the idea.

Protests came to the official residence of Prime Minister Noda, with a crowd that is protesting against the use of nuclear power. Local media did not cover the particular protests, but somehow, the crowds are also attracting Japanese celebrities to join the protests.

Japan’s 50 nuclear reactors were turned off right after the Fukushima tragedy. Prime Minister Noda was concerned about the power outages, the increasing oil importation, the expensive cost of returning to fuel and oil power and the blackouts of some areas in Japan.

UK’s mis sold PPI crisis is actually very simple, but very deceitful. Based on consumer behavior, a consumer only purchase an item whenever they need or desire them. Being so, insurance are something that people both need for the future. However, consumers still have the choice to decide against or go with purchasing the insurance policy. An insurance policy is very useful. Even if it might be initially expensive, it can guarantee you useful benefits in the future. But you wouldn’t purchase an insurance policy that you can’t make use of. However, with the abusive sales methods of bank representatives, millions were mis sold PPI in the UK.

PPI is actually a beneficial insurance product. It provides you one year’s worth of loan repayments in the event you find yourself in financial trouble having to recover from accidents or sicknesses. Such scenarios will need you to take time off from work. If you get unemployed during your loan repayment period, the insurance can provide for your loan repayments. The PPI requires that the customer purchased the insurance in perfect health, having a stable job and within the claiming age to receive all their benefits.

Bank representatives and other financial advisers working on a commission basis proved to be instrumental in the mis selling of PPI policies. Deceiving their customers, they first present the insurance as something that can improve the financial status of their customer. Trusting that their financial advisers are telling the truth, they tell them to go ahead with the purchase. Having sold the highest-priced financial product they have, the financial advisers actually have customers paying thousands for an insurance policy they don’t have any use for.

Making a PPI claim guarantees that you can get back all the repayments you deserve from a mis sold PPI. However, it takes much time and effort to make an effective claim. If you are about to make your claim, make sure to consult with claims experts to avoid any legal problems later. PPI claims handling companies can help you make your claim if you don’t have the time to make a claim by yourself. For more information visit www.ppiclaimsco.org.
