2012 Juneteenth Historical Parade, Austin Texas.
June 18 is the day Union General Gordon Granger and 2000 federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to take possession of the state and enforce the emancipation of its slaves. On June 19, 1865, legend has it while standing on the balcony of Galveston's Ashton Villa, Granger read the contents of "General Order No. 3": The people of Texas are informed that, in accordance with a proclamation from the Executive of the United States, all slaves are free. This involves an absolute equality of personal rights and rights of property between former masters and slaves, and the connection heretofore existing between them becomes that between employer and hired labor. The freedmen are advised to remain quietly at their present homes and work for wages. They are informed that they will not be allowed to collect at military posts and that they will not be supported in idleness either there or elsewhere.

The 2012 Friends of Emancipation Park Juneteenth Pageant
(emancipationusa.com or http JUNETEENTH pays tribute to the announcement of the abolition of slavery in Texas by Union General Gordon Granger (and 2000 federal troops) in Galveston, Texas in June of 1865--nearly 3 years after Abraham Lincoln had declared all slaves be freed. In 1872, Freeman's town residents Jack Yates, Elias Dibble, Richard Allen & Richard Brock purchased 10 acres at Dowling & Elgin and dedicated "Emancipation Park"--the first public park in the state of Texas-- as a place to celebrate their freedom, informally called "Juneteenth" and shortened way of saying "June 19th". In 1973, C. Anderson Davis, founder of The National Emancipation Association, initiated Houston's Juneteenth Parade--initially going down Dowling Street to end at Emancipation Park. With desegregation, the parade moved into downtown Houston. In 2012, it returns to Third Ward. In 1979, State Representative Al Edwards sponsored the bill that made June 19th an official Texas State holiday beginning in 1980. Houston's collective 2012 Juneteenth Emancipation Celebration in Emancipation Park, marks 147 years of freedom, the 140th celebration in Emancipation Park (the oldest in the world) and the 39th year of the official Parade, In 2012, the parade was aptly renamed the "Rev. C. Anderson Davis Memorial Juneteenth Parade." On June 19, 2012, Houston Mayor Annise Parker formally announced the city's investment of $33 million into the historic park.

On June 19th Eighteen and Sixty-Five, 2000 Union soldiers landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free. General Gordon Granger read the contents of "General Order No. 3": The people of Texas are informed that, in accordance with a proclamation from the Executive of the United States, all slaves are free. This involves an absolute equality of personal rights and rights of property between former masters and slaves, and the connection heretofore existing between them becomes that between employer and hired labor. Of course, this was two and a half years after Emancipation. However, Emancipation had little impact in Texas due to the small number of Union troops available to enforce it. But, with the surrender of General Lee in April of Eighteen and 65, and the arrival of General Granger's regiment in Galveston, the Union forces were finally strong enough to bring about freeing the 250000 slaves in Texas. Slaves in Galveston rejoiced in the streets with jubilant celebrations. The first organized celebrations of Juneteenth were used as political rallies and to teach freed African Americans about their voting rights. Within a ...

SHIELDS for Families celebrates Juneteenth
Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th that the Union soldiers, led by Major General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free. Note that this was two and a half years after President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation - which had become official January 1, 1863. From its Galveston, Texas origin in 1865, the observance of June 19th as the African American Emancipation Day has spread across the United States and beyond. Today Juneteenth commemorates African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement. It is a day, a week, and in some areas a month marked with celebrations, guest speakers, picnics and family gatherings. It is a time for reflection and rejoicing. It is a time for assessment, self-improvement and for planning the future. Its growing popularity signifies a level of maturity and dignity in America long over due. In cities across the country, people of all races, nationalities and religions are joining hands to truthfully acknowledge a period in our history that shaped and continues to influence our society today. Sensitized to the conditions and experiences of others, only then can we make significant and lasting improvements in our society. SHIELDS for Families enjoyed a day celebrating Juneteenth together with food, fun, and fellowship! Thanks to the activities ...

Bobby Lee: Eustace Mullins [4of4]
1867 The Presidency of the United States is to be controlled by Freemasonry, is thoroughly documented by Christian author, Ralph Epperson, in his book, "The New World Order". On page 171, Epperson quotes testimony given in March, 1867, before the House Judiciary Committee, by General Gordon Granger. General Granger related a meeting between himself, President Andrew Jackson, who was a Mason, and Albert Pike, the most famous of all Masons. General Granger reported his surprise that President Jackson considered himself to be subordinate to Albert Pike. This subordination is detailed in the oath the initiate takes during the Third Degree, called the Master Mason's degree, inside. In 1920, Russia became the first country in the world to allow abortion in all circumstances, but, over the course of the 20th century, the legality of abortion changed more than once, with a ban being enacted again from 1936 to 1954. Russia has the highest number of abortions per female of child-bearing age in the world.

DTX TV presents Ms. Juneteenth Fort Worth Tx 2012
Juneteenth is not just another celebration for barbecues and parades, it's a time to reflect on the independance of slaves in Texas. Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on September 22, 1862, with an effective date of January 1, 1863, however it had minimal inpact in the Confederate States. But with the surrender of General Lee in April of 1865, Union General Gordon Granger and 2000 federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas on June 18 and 19, 1865, and issued "General Order No. 3" which enforced the emancipation of the slave population. Today, Juneteenth commemorates that day and celebrates African American achievements, while encouraging continuous self-development and respect for all cultures.
