Villages de France: La Châtre: Pays de George Sand.Eglise, Marché, Bars, Restaurants. Le Berry,Indre La Châtre in Lower Berry was born in the Roman era and is known as "castra" in Acts of the 11th century archives. Burned in 1152 by Louis VII, affected by the plague in 1348-1349. It was the birthplace of Henri de Latouche and Emile Acollas. André Boillot the auto racing driver crashed here in 1932 and died from his injuries. La Châtre in Lower Berry was born in the Roman era and is known as "castra" in Acts of the 11th century archives.
Burned in 1152 by Louis VII, affected by the plague in 1348-1349.
It was the birthplace of Henri de Latouche and Emile Acollas. André Boillot the auto racing driver crashed here in 1932 and died from his injuries.
George Sand lived for most of her life at Nohant-Vic near La Châtre.

Dimanche à 12h55 dans "On vous embarque", Rémi alias va faire le plein d’adrénaline dans l’Indre et vous embarque à la Châtre, sur un circuit automobile de légende. Il va découvrir une école de pilotage tout public, sur des voitures semblables à celles des pilotes de F1 ! Guidé par Joël, un ancien pilote de course il va prendre le volant d’un monstre métallique de 500 Kilos et 210 chevaux.
