A new cable car system being built across the River Thames in London will be sponsored by Emirates Airline. The cable car system, running between Greenwich Peninsula and Royal Victoria, will be known as the Emirates Air Line. Scheduled for completion in summer 2012, the Emirates Air Line will offer commuters and visitors to London aerial views of the city as they travel across the Thames between the Greenwich Peninsula and the Royal Victoria Docks.

Dubai is a city and emirate in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The emirate is located south of the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula and has the largest population with the second-largest land territory by area of all the emirates, after Abu Dhabi. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the only two emirates to have veto power over critical matters of national importance in the country's legislature. Dubai City is located on the emirate's northern coastline. The earliest mention of Dubai is in 1095, and the earliest settlement known as Dubai town dates from 1799. Dubai was formally established in 1833 by Sheikh Maktoum bin Buti al Maktoum when he persuaded 800 members of the Bani Yas tribe, living in what is now part of Saudi Arabia, to follow him to the Dubai Creek by the Al Abu Falasa clan of Bani Yas, and it remained under clan control when the United Kingdom assumed the protection of Dubai in 1892. Timelapse video featuring the two iconic towers of Dubai. The Burj Al Arab and the world's tallest building. The Burj Khalifa.
Commisioned to shoot various timelapses of the Emirate by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. This is an edit I put together for myself of some of my favourite shots. Including some amazing views from 154 floors up on the Burj Khalifa.

A project that started in January 2011 and completed shooting on May 2011. My goal was simply to explore and look for interesting unique sceneries around the UAE, and capture it's beauty with time-lapse photography. Winter season plays a big part of my journey, as it's the best time to chase visible fluffy clouds with a true blue sky that only exist to the human eye at this time of the year.
I took around 300,000 images and traveled some 4000kms going around the cities of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Ain, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. I ended up going more than once on few locations which mostly I searched the coordinates online. There's some tiny little setbacks like wrong coordinates, clouds disappearance, being turned down to take photos (after a 2 hour drive), miscalculated driving time, sets of glowing eyes in the mountain, some wild animal noise in the dark (well it's not really a hindrance, but it is abit alarming) and few unnecessary technical issues, which is typically part of trying out and learning something new :)
The whole trip was very exhausting and time consuming, but it's all worth it in the end. I've seen so many beautiful places here in the UAE, plus I enjoyed all the long drives as well as being close to nature and far away from city for awhile. I'm hoping to find more time and discover new places and capture it again on video :)

Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, launched into assault against the United Nations Security Council on Wednesday. He broached conspiracy theories, urged investigations of US military activities and took aim at the structure and the actions of the Security Council, in a one-hour and 36-minute speech at the UN General Assembly's annual session. Gadhafi was one of several leaders, including President Obama, addressing the assembly Wednesday. Gadhafi called for world unity in confronting various world crises, such as climate change and food shortages, but he aimed his ire at the world body and the United States. Dressed in a traditional Libyan cap and robe, he elaborated on what he believes is the unfairness of the structure of the UN Security Council, which has five permanent members: the United States, Russia, China, France and Britain, each with veto power. "No one is objecting to the preamble [of the UN charter], but everything that came after that is contradiction of the preamble," he said through an interpreter. "The preamble says the nations are equal whether they are small or big. Are we equal in permanent seats? No, we're not equals." Citing the history of colonization and persecution of Africans, Gadhafi said it should be a priority for the United Nations to have a permanent African presence on the Security Council.
