Kim Wilde {Kids in America}
The song was recorded in 1980 after RAK Records boss Mickie Most heard Wilde singing on a backing track for her brother Ricky Wilde. He liked her voice and image and expressed an interest to work with her. Ricky Wilde, together with his father Marty Wilde (a 1950s/1960s rock and roll star) wrote the song "Kids in America" for Wilde to record. Once the demo was sent, Most remixed the track himself and released it on RAK as Wilde's first single in January 1981.

Arrows, Wake Up, 1974
It took over 30 years for Arrows' "Wake Up" to be released. It lay dormant in the tape vaults at Abbey Road Studio in London for decades, until EMI decided to release lost Arrows tracks. This song was written by the Arrows (RAK records) members Alan Merrill & Jake Hooker and the original version is on EMI's "Arrows, A's B's and rarities" CD, released after gathering dust for years, in 2005. The track was produced by the late Mickie Most (née Hayes), a music busness legend who produced The Arrows hit singles. Some years later, unbeknownst to The Arrows, the song was altered, "borrowed" with other songwriters credited as the tune's composers and entered in the Eurovision song contest as performed by the band Coco. It nearly won. The images in this clip are all from the Arrows comic strip which appeared in Music Star magazine, UK.

That year, signed to Rak Records and billed as Smokey, the band hit number three in the UK with "If You Think You Know How to Love Me." After another Top Ten hit, "Don't Play Your Rock 'n' Roll to Me," Smokey became Smokie; during 1976, the group scored with three Top 20 hits, including the number five "Living Next Door to Alice." Smokie hit number five both in 1977 ("It's Your Life") and 1978 ("Oh Carol"), but the band's chart run ended by early 1980, and following 1982's Midnight Delight, they disbanded. Both Spencer and Norman continued to work at Rak during the '80s, writing hits for several groups; they re-formed Smokie in 1988, resurfacing with the LP My Heart Is True. Two more albums, All Fired Up and Greatest Hits Live, followed, with the ...
