The reality is that without the Greens holding the balance of power in the Senate we could lose all the gains we have made over the last three years - the price on carbon, the renewable energy fund, the mining tax (as inadequate as it is), the groundswell of support for marriage equality and so much more.
We must protect what we have worked so hard for, and the only way we can do this is to maintain and grow our parliamentary representation.
At the 2010 federal election, over 1.5 million people voted Green. These votes resulted in a stunning outcome - four new Green seats in the Senate, and, for the first time in a general election, a seat in the House of Representatives.
Our research to date indicates that 2 million votes at the next election is achievable.
