Essence Of The Vedas: Samaveda (Vedamoorthy K Sharaschandra Bhat, Arun Iyer)
An introduction to Sama veda, the second of the four ancient Hindu vedas with english recitation by Harish Bhimani. It consists of a collection (samhita) of hymns, portions of hymns, and detached verses, all but 75 taken from the Rigveda, to be sung, using specifically indicated melodies called Samagana, by Udgatar priests at sacrifices in which the juice of the Soma plant, clarified and mixed with milk and other ingredients, is offered in libation to various deities.

Sama Veda 1(1/5)
In the Gita, Krishna said "Of the vedas I am the Sama". This veda is dearest to the Gods.
While chanting this veda, soma juice is offered to the Gods. This is a melodic veda with precise intonations to create exalted and peacful vibrations in the brain. Many of the verses are rig vedic and this specific recital is as per the Kuthuma Sakha.
Vedas create powerful vibrations and therefore should be chanted and listened by people who are proficient and are able to control such potent mantras.
Meditate and be aware of the sound while listening to the great Vedas.

Origin of Music Sama Veda
http://hinduismglance.wordpress.com/practising-adwaita-or-advaita-or-non-dualism/
In India, music ,dance, painting, poetry and the drama is considered a divine art. Shiva,Brahma and Vishnu the Eternal Trinity were the first musicians. The Divine Dancer Shiva is scripturally represented as having worked out the infinite modes of rhythm in His cosmic dance of universal creation, preservation, and dissolution, while Brahma accentuated the time-beat with the clanging cymbals, and Vishnu sounded the holy mridanga or drum.
Shiva,Brahma and Vishnu explained.
Shiva is the Father or Absolute
Brahma is the consciousness
Vishnu is the vibratory sound called Aum heard during meditation.
The three together is called Trinity or the Supreme
Light of consciousness is called Soul

The Samaveda (Sanskrit from sāman "melody" + veda "knowledge" ), is second (in the usual order) of the four Vedas, the ancient core Hindu scriptures. Its earliest parts are believed to date from 1000 BC and it ranks next in sanctity and liturgical importance to the Rigveda. It consists of a collection of hymns, portions of hymns, and detached verses, all but 75 taken from the Rigveda, to be sung, using specifically indicated melodies called Samagana, by Udgatar priests at sacrifices in which the juice of the Soma plant, clarified and mixed with milk and other ingredients, is offered in libation to various deities.
The verses have been transposed and re-arranged, without reference to their original order, to suit the rituals in which they were to be employed. There are frequent variations from the text of the Rigveda that are in some cases glosses but in others offer an older pronunciation than that of the Rigveda. When sung the verses are further altered by prolongation, repetition and insertion of stray syllables, as well as various modulations, rests and other modifications prescribed in the song-books.
This is a 26 year old brain listening to the Samaveda chanting with his EYES CLOSED, notice how the visual cortex lights up even with the eyes closed. This is the first time anyone has looked at the brain while listening to the Samaveda chanting.

GURU PURNIMA
Guru Poornima (25th July 2010)
GURU BRAHMA GURU VISHNU GURU DEVO MAHESWARA
GURU SAKSHAT PARA BRAHMA THASMAI SRI GURAVE NAMAHA
"Guru is Brahma, Guru is Vishnu, Guru is Maheswara
Consider Guru as your everything. All are embodiments
of Divinity. In fact, all that you see is nothing but the
Divine Cosmic Form (Viswa Virat Swarupa)"
Guru Poornima is the full moon day in the month of ‘Ashada’, the fourth month in the Indian lunar calendar, corresponding to end of June or early July. It is also called ‘Vyasa Poornima’, as this full moon day marks the birthday of the great sage Veda Vyasa, who categorized the vast body of Vedic knowledge in to the four Vedas – Rig, Yajur, Sama and Atharva. Even the writing of the eighteen Puranas (ancient Hindu legends) was completed by him on this day.
“The term ‘Guru’ means one who dispels the darkness of ignorance. ‘Gu’ means one who is beyond attributes (or gunas), ‘ru’ implies one who is beyond forms (rupa). This refers only to God. That is why the Guru is hailed as Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva (the holy trinity of Hindu belief). Only God is the true Guru. All others are merely teachers, like the teachers of different subjects in a college. ‘Guru’ is the one who reveals the guri (target) to the disciple. ‘Guri’ here refers to the Atmic Principle (the principle of the self)”.
- Sathya Sai Baba
Discourse: 20th July, 1997
"Guru is Brahman. He is the Creator; He Himself is the creation and He is the One that exists in the creation. The universe is filled with Brahman. It becomes clear that the One who Himself has become the universe is the Guru.
Guru is Vishnu. Who is Vishnu? Vishnu is one who has the quality of pervasiveness. He is the Doer and also what is done. The universe is the action, God is the Doer. God is the consciousness behind the cause and effect. The whole universe is the form of Vishnu. This Vishnu is the Guru.
Guru is Maheshvara. Who is Maheshvara? He is the one who rules all beings in the Universe. He commands and ordains everything in the universe in the right manner. Sun-rise and Sun-set go on according to His command. Seasons, rain, the day and night are His commands. Eeshvara is one that makes everything--follow its discipline without any lapse. Guru is not one who merely teaches. A Guru is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent, He is God himself.
Gurupuurnima means full moon without any defect or lacuna. Moon is nothing but mind. When the mind is completely perfect, it sheds light. Gurupuurnima is not performed by circumambulation and offerings to the Guru. What is the real offering? It is the offering of one's love. To know that God exists everywhere is circumambulation. If you understand these terms, everyday is Gurupuurnima. There is only one Guru, that is God and there is no other Guru. Contemplate on that Guru." - Sathya Sai Baba

Inner Significance of Suprabhatam
In the dawn when we recite the Suprabhatam, we must realize that the Lord is there within us. It is He who is to perform all actions through our Indriyas (Senses). Our actions should be such , that they can be termed Divine. Each time we perform an act or generate a thought, we should try to synchronize with Sai’s action and thought. As each new day begins in the morning, we should chant this Suprabhatam and remind ourselves of the existence of the Lord within us.
Easwarambaa Sutha refers to all of us. We are all children of Divinity. Our body is Puttaparthi. The devotees eagerly waiti
