TEDxGateway - Seymour Stein - Have Courage of your Convictions
About TEDx : In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Seymour Stein Tent Talk, Part 1
Seymour Stein is a music industry giant. He is the Founder and CEO of Sire Records and a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. He signed and/or developed an impressive roster of artists including Madonna, The Ramones, The Smiths, Talking Heads, The Pretenders, Ice-T, KD Lang, Seal, Madness and The Cure. In this TentTalk with Michael Conrad Stein explains some of the reasons for his success and what stands behind the Sire Records brand. He also explains the key to Madonna's staying power. With decades of experience in the music industry Stein has a remarkable nose for good talent and reminds us that what matters most is the song.

Stevie Jackson, Seymour Stein, The Bell House, April 12, 2012, Chickfactor
Stevie Jackson performing "Seymour Stein" during the Chickfactor 20th Anniversary extravaganza at The Bell House in Brooklyn on April 12th, 2012. The first 20 seconds are missing as I had to fumble through my bag to grab my phone to start recording. Recorded with an HTC G2 phone. Decent quality I guess.

The Röxy Suicide (Dave Mansfield) "I Wanna be on Sire" Seymour Stein
Dave Mansfield and The Röxy Suicide are F*ucking S*T*A*R*S*- Who else would have the style, taste, grace and outright audacity to write a song about Sire Records founder Seymour Stein? "I Wanna be on Sire" was first featured on Rodney Bingenheimer's world famous radio show on KROQ Los Angeles in July 2011. - www.theroxysuicide.com

Ice-T - G Style - 1993
Download Rap Videos In HQ Here goldeneravideos.blogspot.com Ice-T started out with other West Coast hip-hop pioneers such as Kid Frost, DJ Flash, and Egyptian Lover with Electro recordings. Later on, he changed his style and was the first West Coast MC to be accepted by the East Coast. "6 'N The Mornin'" is sometimes seen as the track that triggered the whole gangsta movement, which was produced by the Unknown DJ, who produced electro funk tracks before and went on to produce Compton's Most Wanted. The song was inspired by Schoolly D's "PSK" and became the inspiration for Eazy E and NWA's "Boyz N The Hood." Ice-T's raw style captured the ears of Sire Records founder Seymour Stein, who signed him to a multi-album countract, and then went on to work with Afrika Islam, the man behind the beats on his debut album, 1987's Rhyme Pays; 1988's Power; and 1989's The Iceberg/Freedom of Speech...Just Watch What You Say. As the title of this third album suggests, Ice-T was from the start not merely a gangsta MC—although he was one of the driving forces behind the new style—but also used hip-hop music as a platform for social and political activism; Seymour Stein called him "the Bob Dylan of hip-hop." On "Freedom of Speech," Ice attacked Tipper Gore for introducing the Parental Advisory sticker. In 1991, Ice T's fourth album, OG Original Gangster, was released, which included rhymes about child abuse and drunk driving as well as the theme song from the movie "New Jack City" by Mario ...
