Silicon Graphics Indigo2 Maximum Impact - IRIX 5.3 System Tour
Silicon Graphics Indigo2 Maximum Impact - IRIX 5.3 System Tour
This video demonstrates the System Tour which comes as a default application on your standard installation of IRIX 5.3! The purpose of this video is to simply offer a sample of how the System Tour interface works and what you can expect out of it. It is kind of stupid, but has a certain campy feel to it that can not be explained by mere words and is a fun piece of code to look at. Enjoy your stay... Here is a brief description of my Indigo 2's specifications (hinv): - Maximum Impact with 4 MB texture RAM - MIPS R4400 clocked at 200 MHz (2 MB L2 Cache) - Iris Audio Processor (Revision A2) - 128 MB RAM - 30+ GB Seagate Hard Disk - Runs "Irix 5.3 for all Indigo2 Impact" The Indigo2 Impact series dates back to 1995! NOTE: If you have questions regarding technical stuff or advanced software configurations for Silicon Graphics computers beyond amateur level I can not guarantee that I will be able to answer these questions, but I will do my best (if possible)!

Maya 5.0 Irix booting on Indy R5K - Irix 6.5.22
Maya 5.0 Irix booting on Indy R5K - Irix 6.5.22
This is simple video showing my Silicon Graphics Indy R5K, 256 mb, XL24 starting up Maya 5.0 Irix version. The video is crapy for now but i hope i make one better later... why i made it ? dunno, was boring, lol, Maya is a known 3D monster that requires much comp. power of the machine that run`s it ,,, its interesting how the small boy like Indy handled it ,,, don`t forget this is 94`-95` machine so 14 years old now, this is not spectacular, this is awesome!!! When i recorded this video i had old quantum 4G scsi drive filled to the last byte. Now this Indy has a nice 73G 10K seagate cheetah inside, and it just flyes with it. I bet the loading time would be 10-20 percent faster. When i will have time i will try it again. soundtrack: Drowning Pool "Tear Away"

perfly (OpenGL Performer) on SGI O2 / IRIX
A short clip showing the 'perfly' OpenGL demo under IRIX, on an old SGI O2 box. Performance by today's standards is not great, but it is interesting nonetheless to see what the old machines could do. Sunlight - Irix Design
This is a new brand of hood ranges in Canada -- Sunlight. The Top of the Line model -- SL220-688/SL220-388, features a new technology call TiO2 Nano Technology. This is a revolutionary feature to be brought into a range hood. There are many applications of this TiO2 technology, but it's most important feature is that it kills germs and odors. Through a photocatalyst reaction with Sun light, it activates the TiO2 to bond with germ molecules and odor, therefor neutralizing them.
