It’s not actually that difficult for energetic young politicians to take up the responsibility of senior roles anyway. This “experience” thing is a bit of a nonsense, because every day the job brings up something new that the politician hasn’t dealt with before even if they’ve been in the game for most of their life.
Adaptability is far more important than a comprehensive experience, something that Obama has in spades over McCain and Clinton.
