Numbers Station, Chinese, V13, July 6, 2010, 1300 UTC, 10522 kHz, USB +carrier
Chinese numbers station V13 on 10522.0 kHz, in USB mode with carrier. Recorded at my location in the Mojave Desert of California, USA, on July 6, 2010 starting at 1300:07 UTC. The slightly overdriven audio that is heard here is actually what was being received, not an artifact of recording. V13 is a Chinese language numbers transmission spoken by a recorded female voice (YL). The lead-in music is indicative of the station and is always present barring an error. The numbers groups are 4 figures per group, each group id repeated twice. V13 is reported to broadcast from Taiwan. It also is reported to simulcast on several frequencies, although I have not heard more than one at a time. This is not the entire transmission, the entire TX is 29 minutes and 23 seconds long and exceeds the YouTube time limit. 4:55 minutes into this recording (1304:58 UTC on the timer at the bottom) I skip forward to 1328:57 UTC. This allows the viewer to hear the entire call-up (ends at 1304:27 UTC or 4:21 into the recording), the first message groups, and the end of the transmission.

WWV + WWVH + BPM on 5000 kHZ, 6/18/2009 @ 1228 UTC
Shortwave time signal stations WWV (Fort Collins, Colorado), WWVH (Kauai, Hawaii) and BPM (Xi'an, China) being received simultaneously on 5000 kHz. June 18, 2009 at 1228 UTC. You can hear BPM transmit their station ID in Morse at 1:10 in the video, and by voice (in Mandarin) around 1:55. en.wikipedia.org Receiver was a RadioShack DX-392 (aka Sangean ATS-818ACS), can't recall what I was using for an antenna, probably either the internal whip or a random wire attached to the external antenna port.

solar impulse - Flight Rabat-Madrid - July 6, 2012
edited by projet19 music : SineRider - Stratosphere ( soundcloud.com currently live here : live.solarimpulse.com pilot : Bertrand Piccard take off : Rabat-Salé airport (Morocco) 05:17 AM (UTC) expected landing July 6, 2012 : Barajas - Madrid airport (Spain) after 11:00 PM (UTC) This morning at 05:17AM (UTC), Friday 6 July, HB-SIA, piloted by Bertrand Piccard, took-off from its temporary home in Rabat, leaving the Moroccan soil to make its way back to Europe. today's flight still remains particularly challenging due to strong crosswinds over the Iberian Peninsula. The initial part of the flight will be smooth, leading HB-SIA towards Tangier and over the Strait of Gibraltar. However, once Bertrand enters Spain, he will need to navigate west of Seville to a first holding point. This is where the winds are expected to be stronger, up to 35-40 knots, which will have a tendency to push the Solar Impulse prototype eastward. The aircraft will therefore need to steer far enough to the West to ensure it is not pushed east of the planned track. Bertrand will then fly towards Toledo and finally to Madrid. A short holding is planned around the Spanish capital, but just long enough to get the green light from the Control Tower for Bertrand to being his final descent. But at least Bertrand is not alone. This is the first time HB-SIA has a passenger in addition to the pilot. A Moroccan fly has decided to try its luck and taste some of the flavors on the other side of the Strait ! Do we ...

Venus Transit 5/6 June 2012
Venus Transit 5/6 June 2012 The next transit of Venus, when the planet Venus will appear as a small, dark disk moving across the face of the Sun, will begin at 22:09 UTC on 5 June 2012, and will finish at 04:49 UTC on 6 June. Depending on the position of the observer, the exact times can vary by up to ±7 minutes. Transits of Venus are among the rarest of predictable celestial phenomena and occur in pairs eight years apart: the previous transit having been in June 2004, the next pair of transits will not occur until December 2117 and December 2125. The entire transit will be visible from the western Pacific Ocean, northwesternmost North America, northeastern Asia, Japan, the Philippines, eastern Australia, New Zealand, and high Arctic locations including northernmost Scandinavia, Iceland and Greenland. In North America, the Caribbean, and northwestern South America, the beginning of the transit will be visible on 5 June until sunset. From sunrise on 6 June, the end of the transit will be visible from South Asia, the Middle East, east Africa and most of Europe. It will not be visible from most of South America or western Africa. The safest way to watch a transit is to observe an image of the Sun projected onto a screen through a telescope, binoculars, pinhole or reflected pinhole. The event can be viewed without magnification using filters specifically designed for this purpose, such as an astronomical solar filter. watch it live broadcast from USTREAM at: static-cdn1 ...
