Manchester City 2-3 Manchester United - Official Highlights | FA Cup 3rd Round Proper 08-01-12
Man City v Man Utd FA Cup Manchester United survived a stirring fightback from Manchester City to win a thrilling FA Cup third-round derby at the Etihad Stadium. The drama started before kick-off when United announced Paul Scholes was coming out of retirement to play until the end of the season and was named on the bench. And it did not let up for a pulsating 90 minutes which threatened a United rout as they established a three-goal lead by half-time, but ended with Sir Alex Ferguson's side hanging on as City tried to complete the most unlikely comeback. City were also fuelled by a burning sense of injustice after losing influential defender and captain Vincent Kompany to a contentious early red card from referee Chris Foy after a two-footed challenge on Nani. United were already ahead courtesy of Wayne Rooney's header - and with City suffering a numerical disadvantage the visitors punished their neighbours in a style that, at one point, threatened complete revenge for their 6-1 thrashing at Old Trafford in October. Danny Welbeck added a second before Rooney was on target again from a rebound after his penalty was saved by City's stand-in goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon, who was in for the rested Joe Hart. Roberto Mancini's side refused to capitulate in adversity, mounting a response that ultimately failed to rescue the game but did great credit to their resilience and determination. Aleksandar Kolarov's free-kick reduced the deficit and, when Sergio Aguero took advantage of ...

Man City 1-0 Man United Official Highlights | The FA Cup Semi Final
Manchester City reached the FA Cup Final for the first time in 30 years with victory over derby rivals Manchester United at Wembley. Yaya Toure demonstrated power and poise to take advantage of Michael Carrick's mistake to score after 52 minutes and set up another Wembley date against either Bolton Wanderers or Stoke City in May. United controlled the first half-hour and Dimitar Berbatov - in for the suspended Wayne Rooney - missed two golden chances in the space of seconds early on. And United, who had Paul Scholes sent off late on for a wild challenge on Pablo Zabaleta, paid the price as City finally gathered momentum to end as deserved winners and sabotage Sir Alex Ferguson's hopes of repeating the historic treble-winning season of 1999. City threatened through Mario Balotelli, Joleon Lescott and Vincent Kompany before Toure made the breakthrough, with United's only serious second-half response a deflected free-kick from Nani that keeper Joe Hart touched on to the bar. It was a remarkable turnaround in fortunes and form for City and boss Roberto Mancini, who responded to an abject showing in the 3-0 defeat at Liverpool on Monday by insisting they would reach the FA Cup final and also next season's Champions League. He fulfilled the first part of his bold promise in style and now City and Mancini can focus their attentions fully on finishing ahead of Tottenham in the fight for a place in the Premier League's top four. Balotelli was involved in an angry flare-up with Rio ...

Liverpool 6-1 Brighton - Official Highlights and Goals | FA Cup 5th Round 19-02-12
Three own goals helped Liverpool ease past Brighton to secure an FA Cup quarter-final tie against Stoke. Martin Skrtel gave the Carling Cup finalists the lead before Kazenga LuaLua levelled from 25 yards. Brighton's Liam Bridcutt put through his own net before Liverpool striker Andy Carroll made it 3-1. Two more own goals came from Bridcutt and Lewis Dunk before Luis Suarez completed the rout just minutes after missing a late penalty. It was a resounding victory for Kenny Dalglish's side ahead of next Sunday's Wembley date with Cardiff City in the Carling Cup final. Liverpool's trophy cabinet has been gathering dust for six years, but suddenly they find themselves within touching distance of an FA Cup-Carling Cup double after their biggest win since Dalglish returned to the helm last January. Almost 29 years on to the day, Brighton were back at the scene of their best-ever FA Cup victory - a 2-1 triumph at Anfield, on their way to the 1983 final. But the visitors found themselves behind in only the fifth minute when Skrtel, Liverpool's form player of late, took advantage of poor marking by Ashley Barnes from Steven Gerrard's corner to arrow a close-range near-post header past Peter Brezovan. Brighton had been here before. When the sides met back in September in the Carling Cup, Liverpool edged ahead thanks to Craig Bellamy's early goal before running out winners. thefa.com The FA Cup on Facebook www.facebook.com Follow us on Twitter tags "Liverpool 6-1 Brighton" soccer ...

Thierry Henry goal & Official Highlights - Arsenal 1-0 Leeds Utd | FA Cup 3rd Round Proper 09-01-12
Arsenal 1-0 Leeds United The FA Cup with Budweiser Third Round Proper 7.45pm, Monday 9 January 2012 Emirates Stadium, Arsenal FC French legend Henry only joined the Gunners on loan from US outfit New York Red Bulls late last week and had to be content with a place on the bench to start with, but with the game all square with over an hour played and the crowd chanting for the introduction of their hero, boss Arsene Wenger had little to lose. And it certainly paid off, as the 77th minute winner was classic Henry, right from the way he collected a pass on the left-hand side of the area with one of his first touches of the game before caressing it with his right foot across the goal and into the far corner. It's been seen many times before in north London and it was no real surprise to see it happen again, once Alex Song had rolled the ball into space for Henry. Henry's triumphant return will certainly take the headlines and it saved the night for Wenger too, as up until that moment the game had offered little as a spectacle and Leeds could consider themselves unfortunate not to have earned a replay at Elland Road, just as they did a year ago at the same stage of the competition. Arsenal 5-0 Leyton Orient | The FA Cup 5th Round
The FA Cup - Nicklas Bendtner's classy hat-trick booked an enticing FA Cup quarter-final at Manchester United as Arsenal knocked aside Leyton Orient. Marouane Chamakh slotted an early opener before Bendtner's superb header, then a curling finish, put Arsenal's second-string in command. Bendtner's cool third came from the penalty spot after Kieran Gibbs was tripped by Alex Revell in the box. Substitute Gael Clichy then lashed in low with 15 minutes remaining. League One Orient were routinely swept aside in this fifth-round replay, but Arsenal's crushing disappointment from Sunday's failure to collect their first trophy since 2005 - after losing the Carling Cup final to Birmingham - was hard to hide at a muted Emirates Stadium. The hosts initially looked like they lacked a spring in their step, but fears of further agony evaporated in the seventh minute with a goal of typical Arsenal quality. Irish debutant Conor Henderson - another ball-playing midfielder - probed for a gap through the back-line and the 19-year-old's deflected pass was pounced on by Tomas Rosicky, who sped to the byeline to clip a square ball through the legs of Charlie Daniels across the box. Moroccan striker Chamakh held his position to coolly side-foot the ball through the legs of Terrell Forbes from eight yards out, right into the corner of the net, for his first goal since the end of November. Orient hit back soon after as Ignasi Miquel's poor headed clearance fell for Ben Chorley. But his full ...

Tottenham 3-1 Bolton - Bale goal & Official FA Cup Sixth Round highlights | FATV To find out more about the The FA Cup visit: thefa.com The FA Cup on Facebook www.facebook.com Follow us on Twitter twitter.com Second-half goals from Ryan Nelsen, Gareth Bale and Louis Saha sent Tottenham into the semi-final of the FA Cup, where they will face Chelsea. Bolton goalkeeper Adam Bogdan was in fine form denying the hosts several times, before Nelsen headed the opener. Shortly after, Bale doubled their lead finishing off a fine Spurs break before Kevin Davies gave the visitors hope after converting Ivan Klasnic's cross. But Saha sealed the win in injury time with a turn and shot from 20 yards. The rearranged game marked an emotional return to White Hart Lane for Bolton's players after the original fixture was abandoned when midfielder Fabrice Muamba collapsed , suffering a cardiac arrest during the first half. Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp admitted that sentiment would go out of the window when the game kicked off, and his side were true to their word in a one-sided first half. They ended the half with 11 attempts on goal, eight of which were on target, while Bolton failed to muster a single chance. But despite their dominance the game remained goalless at the break, thanks largely to Bolton keeper Bogdan - who was in superb form. He was called into action on numerous occasions, with his low full-stretch save from Scott Parker's close-range effort the pick of the bunch ...

Manchester United 2-0 Arsenal | The FA Cup 6th Round
Manchester United vs Arsenal, R6, The FA Cup 6th Round - 12/03/11 Manchester United extended their unbeaten home run against Arsenal to seven games as they sealed their place in the semi finals of this season's FA Cup with a 2-0 victory. Goals from Fabio da Silva and Wayne Rooney won the game for the home side and dumped Arsene Wenger's men out of a third competition in two weeks, leaving them with only the Premier League to concentrate on. Sir Alex Ferguson surprised many before kick-off by naming a totally new midfield compared to the one from last weekend's defeat to Liverpool. Darron Gibson, John O'Shea, Fabio and Rafael da Silva all started as the United boss made five changes to his line-up. Nemanja Vidic returned to bolster the defence with Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez partners in attack. Ecuadorian winger Antonio Valencia returned to the United first-team squad after being named on the substitutes' bench following five months out with a broken ankle. Gunners boss Wenger made four changes to the side that lost to Barcelona in midweek with Kieran Gibbs replacing Gael Clichy and Manuel Almunia in for the injured Wojciech Szczesny. Denilson was recalled in place of the injured Cesc Fabregas, and Andrey Arshavin was selected instead of Tomas Rosicky but Robin van Persie was fit enough to start in attack.

Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Stevenage - Official goals and highlights | FA Cup Fifth Round Proper 7/2/12
Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Stevenage The FA Cup with Budweiser Fifth Round Proper 7.30pm, Wednesday 7 February 2012 White Hart Lane, Tottenham Hotspur FC Live on ESPN Live fee of £106000 per club Winning clubs receive £180000 from The FA's prize fund A brace from Jermain Defoe and a penalty from Emmanuel Adebayor proved to be enough for Tottenham Hotspur to progress to The FA Cup with Budweiser quarter-finals, but not before they suffered a scare against a brave Stevenage side. Tottenham welcomed Gareth Bale, Rafael van der Vaart and Scott Parker back into the side as Harry Redknapp's men looked to prevent a third straight defeat and a Cup giant-killing against their League Two opponents, but their night got off to a nightmare start. Cheered on by a large vocal support, Stevenage went on the attack early and found themselves in dreamland two minutes in when they were awarded a penalty after Ryan Nelson's sliding challenge on Chris Beardsley. The striker picked himself up to send Spurs goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini the wrong way and White Hart Lane into disbelief. Things got worse for Tottenham before five minutes were up as captain Michael Dawson was stretchered off the pitch after landing awkwardly when challenging Beardsley for a header. Scott Parker took over as skipper as Kyle Walker entered the fray to replace the injured Dawson. Spurs looked shell-shocked and the quick, attacking play many have become accustomed to seeing this season failed to develop as the Stevenage ...
