It has been billed as the Chinese trial of the century, as Gu Kailai, the wife of deposed leader Bo Xilai, is due to stand trial in the dock for the murder of British businessman Neil Heywood last November. Both Bo, who was party chief in the city of Chongqing, and his wife have been in detention since Beijing first announced the murder allegation against them in April. This government worker Mr lei speaking outside the court in Mandarin said he was confident the facts surrounding the case will come to light "I don't actually have a very clear understanding (of this case), but if it's going through the court system, which has its own set procedures, I think that it should be in line with the truth. Whatever the verdict is, I think that the court should have its own way to judge." Kailai faces the death penalty if she is found guilty of murdering Neil Heywood last November. This Politics Professor Joseph Cheng believes she may be let off with a stiff jail sentence. Written and Presented by Ann Salter Related article

Written and Presented by Ann Salter

Both Israel and Egypt blamed the attack on Islamist militants, who've become increasingly active in recent months. In this increasingly violent war the rebels have been using their local knowledge to great advantage. And these 3000 year old caves are of huge strategic importance.
