2 TONE - For The Vinyl Junkie
2 Tone (or Two Tone) is a music genre created in England in the late 1970s by fusing elements of ska, punk rock, rocksteady, reggae and pop music. The 2 Tone sound was developed by English musicians (mostly based in the West Midlands area) who grew up hearing 1960s Jamaican music and decided to play a similar style of music.[1] They combined that style with influences from contemporary punk and pop music. The new music genre (and associated subculture) became known as 2 Tone because most of the bands were signed to the record label 2 Tone Records at some point. Other record labels associated with the 2 Tone sound were Stiff Records and Go Feet Records. Bands considered part of the 2 Tone genre include The Specials, The Selecter, The Beat, Madness, Bad Manners and The Bodysnatchers. The music term 2 Tone was coined by Jerry Dammers of The Specials, who has said he came up with the idea because he liked the black-and-white check pattern on his scooter when he was a young mod.[citation needed]However, many people think the name refers to black-and-white outfits worn by rude boys and skinheads — and to unity between black people and whites. Dammers, with the assistance of Horace Panter, created the Walt Jabsco logo to represent the 2 Tone movement. It was based on an early album cover photo of Peter Tosh, and included an added black-and-white check patternen.wikipedia.org

Binaural beats:General & Therapeutic Use ( INTRO)
unisonicascension.com Introduction for the general & therapeutic use of binaural beats. However this video vlog series, will focus more on a therapeutic approach. Audio and Neurological Aspects of Binaural Beats Binaural beats are a scientifically proven brain entrainment process that slowly started to gain recognition after an article called, "Auditory Beats in the Brain", by Dr Gerald Oster, was published in the October 1973 edition of Scientific America. However; binaural beats were initially discovered in 1839 by HW Dove, a German experimenter. Binaural beats work by sending two different Hz frequencies, to each ear via stereo headphones. With headphones the brain instantly calculates the difference, causing the left and right brain hemispheres to work in unison to hear a phantom frequency or "third tone", the centred Hz difference between the two tones. The Hz separation of the 2 frequencies produces a constant gentle beat and its pulse match the Hz separation per second. Contouring & Highlighting
Tips & tricks to contour and highlight your whole face, & create a face lift effect without the surgery. I contour/highlight the cheeks, jawline, nose, forehead, lips, & eyes. You can use many different products to do this. It doesnt matter what part of your face you're working on, you can use anything from foundation, face powder, concealer, blush, eye shadow, lipstick, body paint, etc. etc. To help out a bit, when using a foundation, concealer, or face powder for a contour, go 1-2 shades DARKER than your skin tone. When doing this for a highlight go 1-2 shades LIGHTER than your skin tone. ALSO!!! For anyone with a very very dark skin tone, you can use your skin color kind of like a contour. Instead of adding more depth to your face, add soft highlights & let your face's natural structure create the shadows. Take a dark journey into the forgotten, where time stands still. The paint has peeled off the walls and the only occupants are the souls of those left behind. This is the Asylum.
Opened in the early 1920s, the Asylum closed down and was abandoned decades ago. Rooms remain untouched – left as they were when the last of the employees departed. These buildings stand as a testament to the horrors and mistreatment that patients had to endure during the time of its operation.
Our 7 month journey into the Asylum led us on many adventures; from dodging security vehicles, ghostly figures and even a meth head. This is no place for the faint of heart. Asbestos blanketed every room we entered like new winter snow, so shooting was sometimes difficult.
This project is a combination of traditional HDR, tone-mapping, and standard time-lapse techniques. With the use of the Dynamic Perception Stage Zero and a Merlin head, we were able to capture the grit and the grime of this wondrous place, like it had never been captured before. Every single frame in this production is a still photograph, no video was shot. It took nearly 35,000 individual frames over 7 months to complete this project.
In return, it took tremendous help from many individuals to complete this project.
Many thanks to, Russ Scalf, Chris Griffin, Nick Kurtz, Brett Cote, Walter Wayman and Laura Buchta.Without you, this project wouldn't be possible.

24 Hours of Neon
My first attempt at HDR tone mapping timelapse.
We start off with normal timelapse and then go into the 3 and 7 bracket tone mapped HDR timelapses.
I wanted to create a sense of colour and insanity that Las Vegas gives you. All from one view point. My balcony. With that restriction can you do it? Well I did it before in my two previous timelapses...
This was harder in a way as there was no single focal point like in the Sydney Harbour piece or the Space Needle piece.
I made a virtue of the HDR tone mapping with the change of pace in the music and also my use of bookends which I love.
There is a very detailed commentary on my website which goes into each shot in detail. It's worth a listen. http://philipbloom.net/?p=13307

SINOPSYS
Metachaos, from Greek Meta (beyond) and Chaos (the abyss where the eternally-formless state of the universe hides), indicates a primordial shape of ameba, which lacks in precise morphology, and it is characterized by mutation and mitosis.
In fact the bodies represented in METACHAOS, even though they are characterized by an apparently anthropomorphous appearance, in reality they are without identity and conscience. They exist confined in a spaceless and timeless state, an hostile and decadent hyperuranium where a fortress, in perpetual movement, dominates the landscape in defense of a supercelestial, harmonic but fragile parallel dimension. In its destructive instinct of violating the dimensional limbo, the mutant horde penetrates the intimacy of the fortress, laying siege like a virus. Similar to the balance of a philological continuum in human species, bringing the status of things back to the primordial broth.
STATEMENT
METACHAOS is a multidisciplinary audio-visual project, articulated in a short film, a set of photography (http://www.alessandrobavari.com/english/Metachaos-photographies/gallery_Metachaos-photographic_series.htm) and mix-technique paintings. The purpose of the project is to represent the most tragic aspects of the human nature and of its motion, such as war, madness, social change and hate. An accretion of feelings that are metaphorically represented by specific visual forms, which are abstract conceptually, but concrete and tangible formally. The application of acid and monochromatic tints, besides the strong contrasts, makes everything intentionally more oppressive and tragic.
In order to obtain a more immersive and plausible version, the shot was taken adopting the camera live technique. The extreme and frenetic motion of the shoulder camera, similar to the subjective one, becomes a main constant, so that, along with the persisting cuts used to edit the video, create a bigger sense of instability and danger. In fact, thanks to the dissemination of Technology, it is possible to notice that the unconscious-esthetic potential of the shots available on Youtube, characterized by a pseudo-documentary and amateur approach, often offer an unexpected emotional involvement, which trigger an exhibitionistic-voyeuristic interchange between the author and the consumer.
The irrational gesture and action of the bodies, as if a collective form of madness controlled them, are inspired by artists like Bosch and Bruegel who, between the ‘400 and ‘500, produced an iconography where irrational images show sickly madness and pain.
The project has been realized using different techniques: live shots taken in discharged industrial sites, CGI animations, tracking and motion captures, besides various other analogical ones.
American Jeff Ensign, aka Evolution Noise Slave composed the original sound track, which has been progressively updated during the video production. The musical score was inspired by 6 separate pieces Jeff had previously created that were then combined into a hybrid. The composition was also based in part from a sonic interpretation of the ideas presented in Antonin Artaud’s the Theater and Cruelty overlaid on Bavari’s images.
JURY STATEMENT FROM PRIX ARS ELECTRONICA 2011.
Alessandro Bavari’s “Metachaos” is an impressive display of the amazing graphics that can be produced with leading-edge hardware and software. The 8-minute clip begins with a sequence of clear, geometric forms that suggest a serene world. But it doesn’t take long until it’s apparent that this was just the calm before the storm. Shadowy creatures and shockingly grotesque figures intrude into this domain rendered in black & white and sepia tones and rip it to pieces. Using the interplay of light and shadow, intentionally shaky camera movements and quick cuts, Bavari takes us on a tour de force through an unsettling imaginary cosmos that grips viewers and doesn’t let them loose. In addition to its extraordinary visuals, “Metachaos” features an i

Ten Lighting Setups
This was a project for my lighting class. Each shot had specific details on which to follow, which are explained in the video. In more depth, here are the ten shot assignments.
1. A three-quarter or waist-high silhouette of 1 or 2 people perfectly exposed for the background
with the foreground figure(s) completely dark. There should be enough distance between foreground
and background that the spill of one area does not interfere with the other.
2. Invert the lighting in #1, using exactly the same pose and framing with perfectly exposed
foreground figures at 4:1 key/fill (two stops) and completely dark or just barely visible details in the
background.
3. A waist-high person in soft (diffused) side light, no fill light, and a specular edge light from the
opposite side with the background as dark and unlit as possible. An incident reading of the edge light
should be about the same f/stop as the key light if the subject has light features, or one stop brighter
if the subject has dark features. Expose for the diffused key light.
4. Identical pose and framing to #3 but with added light and shadow (using barn doors, or other
shadowing material) shaping and highlighting the background (think of it as painting the background
with light and shadow).
5. A scene with a standing or seated person, a candle (either held by hand or on a table) seemingly
lighting the person but actually enhanced with additional light, and a circular glow simulating the
effect of the candlelight on the background.
6. A person reading in bed by lamplight at midnight (implied by light, shadow, framing, ratio,
composition, and a “practical”).
7. A person sleeping in bed at 3 am with shadows implying moonlight coming through unseen
foliage or blinds onto part of the scene. You may want to gel the moonlight source or the fill light
with a blue or other color gel.
8. A person in bed at sunrise (implied by light, shadow, color, and composition).
9. Simulate the pose, surface tones, and light of a specific frame from a film of your choosing. If
possible, also turn in a still image of that frame.
10.
Shoot an interior still with at least one person in it using whatever light sources already exist in
the location (lamps, overhead lights, windows, etc.), but without showing any of those sources in the
frame. Now, turn off/cover those sources and replicate, as nearly as possible, that scene using only
artificial lighting. Also shoot wide shots of both the “natural” lighting sources and the artificial
sources.
Since it is available in video, instead of using gels, I white balanced off of different color swatches, for a greener look, I white balanced off of a magenta tone, blue look, orange tone, etc...
I also lowered the blacks and raised the mids in Color, to give the video a more filmic look.
Over all, a very fun assignment

I show you around the gun and walk you through its basic operation and handling. I also test the Daisy 5501 out with my Chrony Chronograph to see what the real world fps velocity actually is and I also shoot it from 20 feet out on a target to see how accurate this BB pistol is. All in all I liked this Daisy Powerline 5501, other than the poor results I got in terms of accuracy using my chosen zinc platted RWS BB's, the Powerline 5501 was really very good in all other aspects. I think it is a rather nice looking gun with excellent build quality throughout wiht lots of metal giving the 5001 a nice 1.5 pounds weight. The Daisy 5501 had very heavy and snappy blowback while retaining decent shots per CO2 and respectable close to 400 fps real world velocities. This Daisy Powerline 5501 blowback BB pistol is priced at well under $100 making it very good value in my mind.
