CGI Group Inc. (TSX: GIB.A, NYSE: GIB) is a Canadian multinational information technology (IT) consulting, systems integration, outsourcing and solutions company. Founded in 1976 and headquartered in Montreal, Canada, CGI employs approximately 31,000 professionals in over 125 offices across 16 countries. As of September 2011, CGI had an annual revenue of CAD$ 4.3 billion with an order backlog of CAD$13.5 billion. CGI is part of the Forbes Global 2000, an annual ranking of the top 2000 public companies in the world.^[2]

CGI stands for "Conseillers en Gestion et Informatique" in French, or "Information Systems and Management Consultants," in English. However, the official English meaning is "Consultants to Government and Industry."^[3]

CGI was founded by Serge Godin in 1976 in Montreal, Canada. In 2004, CGI purchased the majority of American Management Systems (AMS), acquiring the commercial business and all government business not related to national defense. In May 2010, CGI announced the acquisition of Stanley, Inc., for an enterprise value of approximately $1.07 billion.^[4] In August 2010, CGI finalized the acquisition of Stanley.^[5]

CGI is one of four primary Recovery Audit Contractors, established by the Tax Relief and Health Care Act of 2006, responsible for auditing region B.^[6]

In May 2012 CGI agreed to acquire the United Kingdom-based computer services company Logica for £1.7 billion in cash.^[7][8]

Andrew Montgomery is a Scottish singer who is best known as a member of late '90s Aberdeen indie band Geneva.

Musical career[link]

Montgomery met guitarist Steven Dora in Aberdeen, in 1992, and they began writing music together. They later got together with guitarist Stuart Evans, bassist Keith Graham and drummer Douglas Caskie, and formed a band called Sunfish.

In 1996 The band was signed to the record label Nude, who were well known at the time as the record label for the bands Suede, The Jennifers (later Supergrass) and Black Box Recorder. It was at this time that the band changed its name, first to Garland, then to Geneva.

Geneva had moderate chart success and a loyal fan base, with four Top 40 singles and a critically acclaimed debut album, Further, which was released in 1997. Following over a year of wrangling with their record label, their follow-up album, Weather Underground, was released in 2000. As a consequence of the complete lack of publicity surrounding its release, the album and its two singles bombed, and the band split up later that year.

At the height of their career, Geneva received wide critical acclaim, particularly with regard to Montgomery's singing voice. Often referred to as "angelic"¹, "heavenly"¹ or "celestial", there was a distinct 'choirboy' quality to Montgomery's voice.

Following the band's split, Montgomery moved to New York City, where he met and began collaborating with a number of musicians, including Steve Slingeneyer of Soulwax, and Ben Ellis of Serafin and Catherine Wheel. His most notable collaboration at this time was with experimental composer Ben Neill, and he featured heavily on Neill's 2002 album Automotive. Montgomery later accompanied Neill on his tour of the US.

During this period Montgomery travelled regularly between New York and the UK. It was while he was spending time in England that he engaged in a collaboration with Overseer, culminating in a contribution to his 2003 album Wreckage.

Montgomery moved permanently back to UK in 2003, and formed a London-based band called Amityville with guitarist Stuart Peck and drummer David Bevis, plus a number of contributors including the aforementioned Ben Ellis, who by this time had also returned to the UK.

Amityville did well on the London gig circuit and generated some press and industry interest, and they released a limited edition EP, Pacific Radio Fire, which quickly sold out. But ultimately the band was too indie rock-centred for the mood of the British pop band scene at the time, which was based around highly melodic soft indie such as Coldplay and Keane,^{[citation needed]} and the band failed to get signed. They broke up in 2005, but Montgomery and Peck continue to collaborate.

Montgomery moved to Brighton in 2005 and, following the break-up of Amityville, embarked on a collaboration with Keris Howard, formerly of the band Harper Lee. They named themselves St. Famous.

However in March 2009 Montgomery announced on the band's myspace page that Keris Howard has decided to leave and Montgomery is now working on his debut solo album.

In January 2012, Montgomery announced on his Facebook page that he had completed his first solo album, produced by Sean McGhee to be released imminently. The album features several collaborators including McGhee, Jody Gadsden and Simon Neilson of Autoheart and Kate Havnevik

Lieutenant-General Andrew Brooke Leslie, CMM, MSC, MSM, CD (born December 1957) is a retired Canadian Forces general officer who most notably served as Chief of Transformation and earlier as Chief of the Land Staff.

He is a grandson of former Chief of the General Staff and Minister of National Defence General Andrew McNaughton, as well as of former Canadian Minister of National Defence Brooke Claxton.

Military career[link]

Leslie joined the 30th Field Regiment when at University of Ottawa.^[2] He went on to be Commanding Officer of 1st Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery in Shilo, Manitoba.^[2] While in London, England, as a graduate student he was attached to the Honourable Artillery Company.^[3]

In 1995 he was promoted to Colonel and sent to the Former Yugoslavia as Chief of Staff for Sector South.^[2] He then became the Chief of Staff and Deputy Commander of United Nations Confidence Restoration Operation in Croatia.^[2]

He was the Area Chief of Staff during the Manitoba floods in Spring 1997.^[2] Later in 1997 he became the commander of 1 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group which was sent to the South shore of Montreal to help with disaster relief operations.^[2]

In 2000 he was given responsibility for communications in the Canadian Forces and in 2002 he became the commander of Land Force Central Area.^[2]

He became Deputy Commander of the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan in 2003 and then became Assistant Chief of the Land Staff in 2004.^[2] In June 2006 he was appointed Chief of the Land Staff.^[4]

In June 2010, General Leslie was replaced as Chief of Land Staff by Lieutenant-General Peter Devlin.^[5] At the same time, LGen Leslie was named Chief of Transformation for the Canadian Forces.^[6]

Leslie retired in September 2011, and was subsequently hired by CGI Group to lead their new Defence, Public Safety and Intelligence unit in Ottawa.^[7]
