Buying auto parts online can be an intimidating experience. Anyone who has ever purchased
aftermarket products can attest to the frustration and disappointment felt when a substandard or ill-
fitting part is delivered.
But it doesn’t have to be that way. Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts are reliably produced
by the vehicle’s manufacturer specifically for the automobile in question. Because the part is typically
purchased through an authorized dealer, quality is generally not in question.
Once you’ve made the decision to purchase OEM car parts, there are two ways to go about the transaction: Visit
an authorized dealership or buy online.
If purchasing an OEM part through a reputable online source – such as one affiliated with an authorized
vehicle dealer like OEM Toyota parts – there is little reason to be concerned about the purchase. It is highly unlikely the
customer will be left unsatisfied because the company has a vested interest in maintaining their
reputation and dealer authorization.
In addition, it is frequently cheaper to buy OEM car parts online because the dealer has a larger
volume of competitors and has to price parts accordingly. Conversely, a local dealer may have no
competition at all, depending on the market, and the freedom to exact higher prices.
