Israel Wants The Syrian Government to Fall
One might think such an obvious statement as the title need not defending. In a world of so much lies and disinformation i'm afraid it does. There has been a ridiculous notion amongst numerous left groups and those opposed to the Syrian government, that the Israeli regime does not want to see Assad fall. This video debunks this notion All sources used are featured in my article with Lizzie Phelan on the subject lizzie-phelan.blogspot.ca Also available here www.veteranstoday.com I want to mention Israel is not affraid of islamic countries, its best friend in the region is Saudi Arabia. The muslim brotherhood is not a bad thing for Israel either, look at turkey it is MB run and is allies with Israel. And the US and Israel are not Afraid of "Al Qaeda", because they control all under that banner since its inception.

The Fighting Faithful: Jihad ravages Syria as Ramadan begins
Government forces in Syria are launching all-out counter attacks in the capital to reclaim districts held by rebels. But the country is now facing a new, religious front. It's split over when to start marking the Islamic Holy month of Ramadan. It's meant to be a time of peace and prayer in the Muslim world - but Syrians have little hope it will help curtail violence, as RT's Oksana Boyko now reports from Damascus. 'Syrian rebels' aim dictatorship, not democracy '
Washington's double standard approach is evident in the Syrian crisis. It supports the armed opposition, which wants to turn the country into a dictatorship, claiming that their war against the Assad government has democracy as the goal, Aleksey Pushkov, the chair of the Russian parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs, told RT. An Iraqi Al-Qaeda operative has admitted that his organization is taking part in the Syrian uprising against President Assad. The revelation comes amidst increasing evidence that Al-Qaeda is gaining a foothold in Syria. 'Syrian rebels create mayhem to blame it on Assad regime'
Moscow says those behind the latest massacre in Syria want to unleash sectarian violence and ignite full civil war. Over two hundred people are believed to have been killed in the central province of Hama. Both government and rebel forces blame each other for the slaughter - while the UN remains paralysed on whether to extend its observer mission, or impose sanctions. RT talks to author and Middle East expert Tariq Ali who joins me now from London. Syria 'friends' fuel murder with promises of weapons for rebels
Syria's President says countries like the US, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey are hindering peace in his country by supporting those he calls 'terrorists'. Bashar al-Assad accused Washington of being partially responsible for the deaths of innocent civilians by partnering with the rebels. The Syrian army have started large-scale drills simulating defense against outside attacks. Some opposition leaders previously appealed to the West for foreign intervention against the regime. But as Maria Finoshina reports from Syria, many in the country are fearing for their lives if the rebel forces get what they want. 'Attack on Iran after Syria falls major goal of the West'
The UN's special envoy to Syria says international peace efforts have not succeeded, partly as a result of divisions between world powers. This comes a day after US Secretary of State Clinton said Russia and China will pay a price for allegedly supporting Assad. Patrick Henningsen, a Mideast analyst and editor at infowars.com, believes Syria is being used by the US as a proxy to start a war with Iran.

War Games: Syria not welcome at London Olympics?
The summer games may be at start, but the tradition of the Olympic truce looks likely to go unfulfilled. Despite pressure, Syria's sent its biggest delegation for decades, claiming its participants bring with them a message of peace. But, as RT's Maria Finoshina reports, despite efforts, these Olympics are failing to stay away from politics. 'No chance of unity government in Syria'
Iraq's Foreign Minister is blaming al-Qaeda members for orchestrating the uprising against Syria's president. In a news briefing, he said militants from the terror network were flowing into Syria. Violence there is worsening, with over a hundred people killed in the last three days. Reports say fighting's intensifying in Homs, where troops are clashing with rebels. Paul Sheldon Foote, a Middle East expert from California State University, says he doesn't believe the coalition government is possible in Syria. 'West will not intervene Syria, proxy war more likely'
In Syria, the unfolding battle for the commercial capital - Aleppo - has turned into the focal point of the 16-month long conflict. Government forces are pushing to reclaim the country's largest city from the rebels - who control nearly half of its neighbourhoods. Three million people live in Aleppo and many are now fleeing, amid international fears of a looming massacre. Russia's accused foreign powers of fueling the bloodshed, by urging the rebels to fight on against Assad. The political leaders of the insurgency are calling for intervention, and shipments of heavy weapons from abroad. And revelations in the media this week claim that's already happening, via a secret base in Turkey. Author and journalist Afshin Rattansi says the flow of weapons into the hands of rebels will have dire consequences. Syrian rebels gain ground in Aleppo
In Syria's Aleppo province, the balance of power is changing fast. From the Turkish border through to the edge of Aleppo city, fighters of the Free Syrian Army have taken control while the Syrian army has largely disappeared. But the fight against forces loyal to Bashar al-Assad is far from over. Al Jazeera's Anita McNaught reports exclusively from Al-Bab in Aleppo province.

Syria: Fighting rages in Damascus and Aleppo
The streets of Syria's two biggest cities have recently been turned into the front line of the battle for the country's future. Syrian state media are claiming that government forces have cleared rebels out of neighbourhoods in Damascus. Meanwhile, in the northern city of Aleppo, activists say opposition fighters have stepped up their assault against regime forces. Al Jazeera's Nicole Johnston reports.

Al-Houla Massacre - Dozens of Children Murdered in Syria
This footage, uploaded by Syrian democracy activists on May 25, 2012, depicts the aftermath of a massacre of around 32 children under the age of 10. They were allegedly murdered by forces loyal to Bashar al-Assad in the town of Al-Houla in Homs. Dozens were killed by tank and artillery shelling, while according to survivor testimony dozens more were shot or stabbed by Syrian security forces. The relative proportions of each category remain disputed.

Syria on Air: One-sided media spin behind insurgency trench warfare
Turkey insists its military jet shot down by Syrian forces on Friday wasn't spying - but was on a training flight. The incident adds to the pressure piled up on Damascus - as NATO is now going to look into what happened. Syria maintains it was just protecting its sovereignty - as the plane crossed into its territory - by mistake, according to Turkey, which is a NATO member. RT's Maria Finoshina, who's in Damascus, reports on how media is turning into yet another tool of war, sometimes just as dangerous as a rifle. Syria rebels fend off Aleppo assault
Syrian rebels held off an offensive by regime forces in Aleppo Saturday as the head of the main opposition bloc called for heavy weapons and said President Bashar al-Assad should be tried for "massacres". After massing for two days, troops backed by tanks and helicopter gunships moved on southwestern Aleppo where rebels concentrated their forces when they seized much of the northern city on July 20. Al Jazeera's Jamal al-Shayyal reports.
