Too many musicians?
Watch PressPausePlay: theneedledrop.com Of course everyone on the planet can't be a career musician. The economy couldn't possibly sustain such a world. However, are there just too many musicians releasing their music onto the internet right now? Could there ever possibly be such a thing as too much music on the internet? If there was such a thing, what would it look like? Do you feel great music is being drowned out by how much music is out there right now? Is the in calculable mass of music on the internet killing the art? Is it killing musical culture? theneedledrop.com http bit.ly bit.ly bit.ly theneedledrop.com

Struggling Actors VS. Struggling Musicians
Struggling Actors vs. Struggling Musicians.......This is just what I've observed in my 10 years here in NYC. I'm sure it's not like this for everyone and I know there are exceptions to the rule so hopefully no one cries like a baby about this not being true because whether or not it's true for you, it's not the end of the world :) Also, I'm just kidding to all you dudes out there who want to be actors.......if you really want to become an actor, then become one!!!! Just learn to play the guitar and sing on the side!! hahaha!!! Thank you to my friend Connilyn for the use of her awesome song once again!!! And also to Zennie D. Mendoza for writing the song. Please support Connilyn by buying some of her music anywhere here: itunes.apple.com www.emusic.com www.cdbaby.com

Musicians on Tour - Take in the sights, sounds & food on the road.
lorenweisman.com - artistsguide.net - Musicians on Tour - Take in the sights, sounds & food on the road. LW Music Consulting YouTube Video. To the musicians and bands out there on the road, to all the musicians and bands touring across the country or across the world, take in the sites, the sounds and the food when you can!!! As a music consultant, I hear all too often about the musicians on tour that went across 90 and tried every combination of a whopper from Burger King or only ate this or only ate that. Take chances, go online, find out about the hot spots to try. They don't have to be the most expensive, but if you have the time, try it, you might like it! if your bands touring to places you have never been, look up about the sites and the places you can visit for free. There are hundreds. You are getting the chance to travel for your gigs, now enjoy the world that is out there and see things you might never get the chance to see again. Curb some of the party nights to get started a little earlier to have the time to visit places before sound check. You may be surprised at the different things that different cities and towns have to offer as well. It can also draw in more fans. Someone that is driving through that wants to experience something local is more often than not looked upon in a better light than the stranger asking for the nearest Burger King and nearest bar. Show an interest and you might be surprised at all the interesting things you can see, experience ...

Fan Match for Musicians
What if you could put your fan acquisition efforts on autopilot? Music Xray is going to help you take on that challenge. Soon, we will release an overhaul of our focus groups service and rename it FanMatch. For each $1 you (the musician) pay, we will target 3 potential fans and if they like your music, we'll get their contact info for you and maybe even convince them to leave you a tip. They will be targeted based on their taste profile -- meaning that they will be somewhat predisposed to like your general style and sound. Imagine being able to acquire each new fan at a very predictable cost. Then, as long as your fans are worth more to you than it costs to acquire them, you have a sustainable act. The more compelling your music is, the lower your cost to acquire each fan will be, and probably the more successful you'll be overall. In other words, the less money it costs you to acquire fans, the more viable your act is as a sustainable business. FanMatch aims to not only be the lowest-cost way you'll ever acquire fans, but to also help you track those costs and reduce them over time. Get it? As we're putting the finishing touches on the software that powers this whole thing, we're working on the messaging, that is, on how we describe the service to everyone so that they "get" it too. Let's say the average musician who sees the video below will know approximately as much about the service as you do now, after reading all of the above. Does the video paint the picture? Also ...

Aspiring professional musicians - Good Tip - know how to play simple!
lorenweisman.com - facebook.com - Aspiring professional musicians - Good Tip - know how to play simple! LW Music Consulting YouTube Video. Aspiring professional musicians - Simple Question.... It's a weird question that can have a lot of different connotations to it when you ask some one to play simple, or play more simpler or even ask the question directly to many aspiring professional musicians: Do you know how to play simple? Way too many people answer yes to quick and do not have the ability at all. It sounds stupid, but its true. Playing Simple and playing simple well is not an easy task. If you are leaning toward being the session player, the substitute, the back up or the hired gun professional musician in the recording business, you need to have the reading skills, the chops and the technique in place but you also need to know how to reign it in to make the song work. When I drumming, 95 percent of what I was hired for was very simple, groove and embellishment playing. There were some of the albums that I got to stretch out on and have some fun, but the bulk of my career was playing for the song and most of the songs I played on called more for groove over chop. Playing simple as not only called for but when someone that can play busy, can pull it back to play simple for the part, you will build a reputation that you want to have. Now of course when a song called for some more technical stuff, I was happy to do it and it is always fun to go after much more ...
