The Flume Trail - Lake Tahoe - Great Basin Bicycles - Reno - Nevada - California - Singletrack
This trail is internationally acclaimed. It is one of the most scenic trails ever. It is an old non functional water flume that has been turned into a hiking/biking trail that over looks Lake Tahoe. The views are stunning. This video is done all hand held with no music to keep to the natural sounds and feel of the trail. I tried to highlight the views and feeling of the trail. Go to greatbasinbicycles.com for the free GPS topo map for this ride, and many others in the area. The bikes being ridden are a Cannondale Scalpel and a Yeti Arc. Let me know what you think.

Giant Loop Great Basin Saddle Bag and Luggage System - Product Detail
A hard luggage alternative we offer (and use ourselves) is the Giant Loop Great Basin. Great for on or off road riding, it's made from trucker's tarp material, the straps are Cordura, and contoured stuff sacks are included for packing the interior. Seam sealer and heat shield are included. The Great Basin is designed to keep weight tight and low. Proper installation is key, and in this video AltRider's lead industrial designer will use the Yamaha Super Tenere XT1200Z to show you how to install the Great Basin, how to pack it, and a few tricks (like making a tool roll from old oil bottles) to protect it from common dangers and make it last. Find the Giant Loop Great Basin -- as well as the Great Basin Coyote and Fandango -- at www.AltRider.com.

The Flume Trail - Great Basin Bicycles - Singletrack - Lake Tahoe - Nevada
For the free GPS trail map with turn by turn directions for this and many other rides in the area, go to: www.GreatBasinBicycles.com This trail is one of the most beautiful trails in the world. It sits over 1000 ft above Lake Tahoe and offers stunning views. This section of trail is mostly flat. You do have to climb to get there, but it is worth it. You can see more of the views in my other video at www.youtube.com Please always share the trail. We always ride with cowbells to warn other users of our presence. This is a tight trail with dire consequences. Stop to look at the lake. The bike being chased is a 2009 Yeti 575, and the camera bike is a 2009 Cannondale Rize Music Provided by John H. Sidewinder Trail - South Lake Tahoe - Great Basin Bicycles - Mountain Bike - Singletrack
This mountain bike trail is located just out of South Lake Tahoe, CA. near Meyers Ca. If you know the area, it is just east of Mr. Toads Wild ride. That video is later. Anyway, this trail is fast and relatively smooth. It is sooooo much fun. It is more of an intermediate ride. The climb is on a paved road, and the downhill twists and turns the whole way down. This has to be one of my favorite rides in the area. You can find the GPS map of the trail with turn by directions FREE at : www.greatbasinbicycles.com, as well as many other GPS trail maps in the area. Enjoy the ride. Special thanks to Colin Ross for the music. You can hear his music at http The camera bike is a Cannondale Rize, and the bike followed is a Cannondale Scalpel

South Lake Tahoe - Mr Toads Wild Ride - Great Basin Bicycles - Singletrack - Downhill - POV
This Trail is in South Lake Tahoe California. You can make this ride as long as you want by starting at different points. You can start down by Meyers, Ca, or reduce the distance by driving to the top of Luther Pass , Hwy 89, then ride the Tahoe Rim Trail up to the ridge, then ride down. Both trails are outlined in the trail map section of www.greatbasinbicycles.com The first 1 of the downhill is very technical, and rated for an expert rider, and a long travel bike is highly recommended. The camera bike is a 5" Cannondale RZ. The bike being followed is a Yeti 575. This trail is perfect for the Yeti, and with the Cannondale, I had to closely watch my line, and landing. The bottom of this trail is so fast and smooth that you do have to watch out for trees jumping out and hitting your shoulders. But it is a ton of fun. The music was provided by: John H Clarke at: www.youtube.com You can also purchase his CD's there as well.

Branding & Stock Handling Techniques of the Great Basin & Old California Traditions
Learn More or Order Today! www.thecalifornios.com Incredibly photographed, this documentary style instructional piece takes viewers deep into the world of the buckaroo at work, branding cattle on the western ranges. David Weaver and Gwynn Turnbull Weaver have compiled this rare opportunity for viewers to be "a fly on the wall" at a series of authentic, real life brandings in the "rodear style". David Weaver offers a lifetime of experience from the big outfits of the region while Gwynn brings the ethical relationship between horses, cattle and stockmen into focus. Their clear insights, learned in their decade long Ranch Roping Clinic tours prove to be a balanced, interesting mix of theory and application. Peppered with actual interviews with some of the regions handiest cowboys, hard to get information is intricately woven into spectacular actual footage. Martin Black, Buck Brannaman, and Larry Schutte, to name a few, share their unique insights and opinions. More than just philosophy, this in depth masterpiece chronicles a way of life while educating viewers on the finer points of branding. From the peripheral details of gathering, size and shape of branding traps, where to put the fire, ground work and stock management; to the actual roping, setting up shots, dallying, running rope, pulling, managing calves at the fire, slack handling and the etiquette that saturates it all. In addition, there are tips for handling green horses through the ever changing situations of the ...

Classic Rodea Style Ranch Roping with Martin Black
From the Great Basin Tradition Classic Rodea Style Ranch Roping with Martin Black Martin Blacks family has maintained the ranching tradition on the same ranch since 1865. His great grandfather grew up with the horsemanship and roping of the vaqueros that brought their large herds of cattle to the Great Basin in the 1870s. For several generations, the style, principles and ethics have been handed down. Martin would like to share some insight to the culture and traditions that he has lived and hopes to preserve and pass it on for others to enjoy. This DVD showcases everyday life on a real working ranch set at the base of the beautiful Steens mountains in southeastern Oregon on the historic Alvord Ranch. Martin and Frank Dominguez show examples and explain the details of the stockmanship, horsemanship, team-work and dedication of traditional ranch-roping while accomplishing the job of summer branding. Running Time 1 hour and 30 minutes.

How the The Great Artesian Basin works
Stretching from Cape York in the north, down to Dubbo and across to Coober Pedy, the Great Artesian Basin covers almost a quarter of the Australian continent, and it contains enough water to cover the world over. Much remains to be known about this valuable recourse that has enabled life in inland Australia to develop over thousands of years. Water Down Under is the vast and rich story of the Basin, told by the people who live on the Basin it self, and presented by National Geographic's Hayden Turner.
