Bavarian Kings
The House of Wittelsbach ruled Bavaria for centuries. It became an Electorate of the Holy Roman Empire under Maximilian I who allied with Emperor Ferdinand II in the 30 Years War. After the French Revolutionary Wars brought down the Holy Roman Empire and given that Bavaria had been a long-time ally of France Napoleon raised the country to a kingdom under Maximilian IV Joseph who became King Maximilian I of Bavaria in 1806. The monarchy lasted until the fall of the 2nd German Empire in 1918 when leftist revolutions brought down King Ludwig III. Today the heir to the throne is titled as "Duke of Bavaria".

Jacobite Lineage
The Kings of Scotland of the House of Stuart, then the Kings of Britain and finally the succession of would-be monarchs according to the Jacobites. In 1688 James II was deposed by his son-in-law and the Jacobites were those who remained loyal to James and the House of Stuart. Efforts to restore the old royal line were blocked at the Boyne, the 1715 Uprising and the 1745 Uprising which ended in the defeat of the Jacobites at Culloden. Bonnie Prince Charlie (Charles III of Jacobites) is the most famous. His claim passed to his brother, a cardinal, and then the claim passed to the House of Savoy, the House of Wittelsbach of Bavaria and is set to go to the Princely House of Liechtenstein in the future.

The castle was built in stages between the 13th and 17th centuries as House of Wittelsbach palatines. It largely went out of use after damage in 1689. Today most of the complex can be visited. Highlights are the Friedrichsbau palace, the ruined Pulverturm and Englischer Bau, and the Ruprechtsbau, which is the oldest surviving part of the castle. TJ Alex: The Nymphenburg Palace in German
The Nymphenburg Palace (German: Schloss Nymphenburg), ie "Nymph's Castle", is a Baroque palace in Munich, Bavaria, southern Germany. The palace was the main summer residence of the rulers of Bavaria. Nymphenburg Palace, around 1760, as painted by Canaletto. The palace was commissioned by the prince-electoral couple Ferdinand Maria and Henriette Adelaide of Savoy to the designs of the Italian architect Agostino Barelli in 1664 after the birth of their son Maximilian II Emanuel. The central pavilion was completed in 1675. Starting in 1701, Max Emanuel, the heir to Bavaria, a souvereign electorate of the Holy Roman Empire, conducted a systematic extension of the palace. Two pavilions were added each in the south and north of Barelli's palace by Enrico Zucalli and Giovanni Antonio Viscardi. Later, the south section of the palace was further extended to form the court stables. As a balance, the orangerie was added to the north. Finally, a grand circle (the Schlossrondell) with baroque mansions (the so-called Kavaliershäuschen - cavalier's lodges) was erected under Max Emanuel's son Holy Roman Emperor Charles VII Albert. Two of the latter's children were born here; Maria Antonia (future Electress of Saxony) in 1724 and Maria Anna Josepha (future Margravine of Baden-Baden) in 1734. With the Treaty of Nymphenburg signed in July 1741, Charles Albert allied with France and Spain against Austria. For a long time, the palace was the favourite summer residence of the rulers of Bavaria <b>...</b>

The wittelsbach sister Sisi Helene Marie Mathilde And Sophie
A movie i made today with pictures of Elisabeth, Helene, Marie, Mathile and Sophie. I Hope You Like It! The song is Dark Waltz from Hayley Westenra. We are the lucky ones We shine like a thousand suns When all of the colour runs together I'll keep you company In one glorious harmony Waltzing with destiny forever Dance me into the night Underneath the moon shining so bright Turning me into the light Time dancers whirling past I gaze through the looking glass And feel just beyond my grasp is heaven Sacred geometry Where movement is poetry Visions of you and me forever Dance me into the night Underneath the moon shining so bright Turning me into the light Dance me into the night Underneath the moon shining so bright Let the dark waltz begin Oh let me wheel - let me spin Let it take me again Turning me into the light

Rare Blue Diamond on Sale
A rare blue diamond goes on sale at London's Christies auction house. It is expected to fetch around 15 million dollars. The 35.56 carat diamond had previously been held in European royal families for more than 300 years. Known as the Wittelsbach Diamond, the extremely rare 35.56 carat, historic 17th century diamond, goes on the international market for the first time in almost 80 years. It is one of very few diamonds that can claim a 17th century heritage. The unusual stone was part of the dowry of the Infanta Margarita Teresa who was the daughter of King Phillip IV of Spain. [Keith Penton, Christies London]: "Not many large stones have survived in their original form and just the fact that it is blue was obviously the prize possession of the family...it lived in a variety of jewels from the state crown which was created in 1806 to the end of the golden fleet , I think it was probably regularly swapped from one man to the other according to how they wanted to wear it." The diamond is on display at Christies auction house alongside other unique jewellery. [Keith Penton, Christies London]: "We're expecting (the diamond to fetch) around 15 million dollars. It's quite hard to pin point who might be the eventual buyer, there has been an interest from either collectors, from professionals, jewellers, to institutions, so at this stage nobody is wanting to reveal their hand. It will be exciting tomorrow." Apparently, the global financial crisis is expected to have little impact <b>...</b>

Enrico Correggia - Kaiserhymn
