Grace Slick - Let it go
Grace Slick - Let it go
This is my favourite Grace solo song. Just the music and some pictures... Some people say "Don't go away just stay right here" Some say "If you stay at home you're gonna wind up alone" Now you know you can't go two different ways you can't believe everything you hear And if you always do just what you're told hen you've got no mind of your own So if each man has a different plan let 'em go let 'em go You have a power all your own There's a spirit child inside you ready for life and I know It's just waiting to see how you will grow And when the spirit feels the need to wander let it go Sometimes they say the only way is to really sing that song Sometimes they say you're singing that way too loud too long And if they can't make up their minds then I think I'll make up mine Whatever way I feel is the only way I'm gonna sing that song And if people don't seem to like it that's OK let 'em go Some day they'll sing a song of their own 'Cause there's a spirit child inside them ready for life and I know It's just waiting to see how they will grow And when their spirit feels a need to wander I'm sure they'll go Some people said "Try this,it'll make your smile" Some said "Don't touch it, you end up crying" Well it felt so good for a while but then I saw too many dying When all they wanted to do was get a little higher So if the game won't follow through let it go let it go And leave the loaded dice alone 'Cause there's a spirit child inside them ready for life and I know It's just ...

Grace Slick - El Diablo
Grace Slick - El Diablo
About Grace Slick; Grace Slick, (born Grace Barnett Wing on October 30, 1939) is an American singer and songwriter, who was one of the lead singers of the rock groups Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, Starship, and was a solo artist, for nearly three decades, from the mid-1960s to the mid-1990s. Slick was an important figure in the 1960s psychedelic rock genre, and is known for her witty, often acid-tongued, thought-provoking lyrics. ----------------- Lyrics of El Diablo El Diablo I can feel your power in my soul Dancing like your puppet though I try to break your hold Half succeeding still I find I'm healing quickly You'll not trick me one more time El Diablo you are like a fountain blowing dust Peddler of delusion, dire confusion and disgust As you hook your mark with joyous heart you up the price Take your pleasure elsewhere cast your gaze not on my life El Diablo I can feel your power in my soul Dancing like your puppet though I try to break your hold Half succeeding still I find I'm healing quickly You'll not trick me one more time El Diablo I can hear you calling in the night Pass me by in silence I'll not follow you tonight Beat your breast like thunder vent your anger with a howl You'll not pull me under I'll not tremble at your growl

Jefferson Airplane - Somebody To Love
Jefferson Airplane - Somebody To Love
Written by Darby Slick for The Great Society a band Grace Slick also played in before Jefferson Airplane/Starship Surrealistic Pillow Studio album by Jefferson Airplane Released February 1967 Recorded October 31, 1966 -- November 22, 1966 Genre Psychedelic rock, folk rock Length 33:40 Label RCA Victor Producer Rick Jarrard Jefferson Airplane's fusion of folk rock and psychedelia was original at the time, in line with musical developments pioneered by The Byrds, The Mamas & the Papas, and Bob Dylan. Surrealistic Pillow was the first blockbuster psychedelic album by a band from San Francisco, announcing to the world the active bohemian scene that had developed there starting with The Beats during the 1950s, extending and changing through the 1960s into the Haight-Ashbury counterculture. Subsequently, the exposure generated by the Airplane and others wrought great changes to that counterculture, and by 1968 the ensuing national media attention had precipitated a very different San Francisco scene than had existed in 1966. San Francisco photographer, Herb Greene photographed the band for the album's cover art. Some controversy exists as to the role of Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia in the making of the album. His reputed presence on several tracks is not corroborated by RCA paperwork and is denied by producer Rick Jarrard. But when performing Comin' Back to Me live with Jefferson Starship, Marty Balin almost always introduced the song with a reference to the ...
