Wolf Parade- Expo 86 ALBUM REVIEW
Wolf Parade- Expo 86 ALBUM REVIEW
Listen: bit.ly / bit.ly / bit.ly These Are Powers: theneedledrop.com On their third LP, Wolf Parade pull together their most cohesive sound yet. The differences that separated the band's two main songwriters, Dan Boeckner and Spencer Krug, are slowly disappearing. The loud, voluminous production on this release makes for a highly visceral experience, but Dan fits into this mold much easier than Spencer does. It's the most no nonsense this band has ever been, but they've dampened their idiosyncrasies a bit in the process. This is still an admirable record, though, and one hardcore fans are probably going to enjoy more than me. But what do you think of this album? 6/10 theneedledrop.com http bit.ly bit.ly bit.ly FAV TRACKS: GHOST PRESSURE, WHAT WOULD MY LOVER SAY, LITTLE GOLDEN AGE, CAVE-O-SAPIEN

About the Expo: The 1986 World Exposition on Transportation and Communication, or simply Expo '86, was a World's Fair held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada from May 2 until October 13, 1986. The fair, the theme of which was "Transportation and Communication: World in Motion - World in Touch", coincided with Vancouver's centennial and was held on the north shore of False Creek. Death Cab for Cutie - Expo '86 ( Lyrics )
Yes, sorry, another Death Cab for Cutie song. Hope you enjoy this. It's kind of fast, so, hope you can keep up. Sometimes I think this cycle never ends We slide from top to bottom and we turn and climb again And it seems by the time that I have figured what it's worth The squeaking of our skin against the steel has gotten worse But if I move my place in line, I'll lose And I have waited, the anticipation's got me glued I am waiting for something to go wrong I am waiting for familiar resolve Sometimes it seems that I don't have the skills to recollect The twists and turns of plots that took us from lovers to friends I'm thinking I should take that volume back up off the shelf And crack it's weary spine and read to help remind myself But if I move my place in line, I'll lose And I have waited, the anticipation's got me glued I am waiting for something to wrong I am waiting for familiar resolve I am waiting for another repeat Another diet fed by crippling defeat And I am waiting for that sense of relief I am waiting for you to flee the scene As if you held in your hand the smoking gun And on the floor lay the one you said you loved And it's strange They are basically the same So I don't ask names anymore Sometimes I think this cycle never ends We slide from top to bottom and we turn and climb again And it seems by the time that I have figured what it's worth The squeaking of our skin against the steel has gotten worse The squeaking of our skin against the steel has gotten ...

Something's Happening Here EXPO 86 Theme Song
Something's Happening Here EXPO 86 Theme Song
In 1986 Vancouver welcomed the world to Expo 86 for our World Fair. To go with a world class event like Expo 86 we needed an incredible theme song that would be played every night for our spectacular fireworks display and as Expo 86's anthem. Michael Koren of Koko Productions provided an amazing theme song for Expo 86... Sung by Lisa Dal Bello , "Something's Happening Here" is STILL timeless and brings back so many incredible memories of 1986... Sadly the fireworks that appear in this video are not those that actually went with the song at the fair... (why I didn't record the show at the time I'll never know) but thanks to the nice folks at footagefirm.com who supplied the fireworks for the video you still have something to look at while you enjoy this great song! Special thanks to Michael Koren, everyone at Koko Productions and of course footagefirm.com for making this video possible... Enjoy and feel free to leave a comment!
