Match Game 77 - Dawson Meltdown
Match Game 77 - Dawson Meltdown
Richard Dawson can be a self-righteous panelist at times and here it is clearly displayed. He would go on to run Family Feud and be that show's ultimate judge, unlike here in Match Game where Ira Skutch could overrule him. Gene does a great job trying to hold the show together.

The Match Game (NBC) w/ Gene Rayburn Tribute, "A Swingin' Safari" (( Stereo ))
For stereo version, paste " &fmt=18 " at the end of the URL up top or click here: www.youtube.com This video collage that I made is from the game show, "The Match Game" that aired on NBC from December 31, 1962 to September 26, 1969. The host was Gene Rayburn. The theme song is called "A Swingin' Safari" by Bert Kaempfert. The first half of the collage is from the Match Game. The second is a tribute to Gene Rayburn. Enjoy. Supposedly, only 11 episodes of the Match Game are reported to survive, the pilot episode (which was recorded) and ten kinescope recordings; the show was originally broadcast live from New York, and most episodes were not recorded for posterity. For most of its life, the original series of The Match Game was aired live from New York on NBC during the late afternoons, and was a solid if unspectacular hit for the network at the time.
