This is a masterpiece of American societal commentary with a super-funk attitude. As relevant today as it was in 1973, "Living For The City" describes life, where desperation and necessity are met head on with practicality and survival. We can sit back and criticize the crime in the inner city, but few of us care enough to understand the reasons behind it. For now, I will formulate my opinion. I will center my thinking around the missing father syndrome so common to low-income families. The utter desperation of very young single mothers. The need for money to survive in a nightmare of a world that only the street inhabitants dare to travel. I believe we still exist in a world that is very needy when it comes to treatment of those who struggle. We have the ability to help by building from the outside in a way to communicate with young people who struggle daily to survive on the streets where weakness, miscalculation, and greed run rampant. We must not have any illusions, the "inner city" problem we have with our young teen men needs attention immediately, Thank you for listening and I appreciate so much your visit and welcome discussion.
