Money is not the ultimate goal in life. It is just a means to fulfill certain necessities and desires. Nevertheless those necessities and desires are very important for a balanced life. Elders and parents often advise a young salaried person to precariously save and invest. It’s a general saying that money saved is money earned. So when we talk about the need of money for survival, where does the question of gender come? It is as important a commodity for women as for men. The way in which movies and other forms of entertainment have portrayed certain characters that are mostly anarchic with little or no respect for society has prompted many educators to start a discourse for civic sense for young children. Children quite easily pick up anything they see at a fairly young age. Hence, it is very important for parents and family members to project values and qualities that are needed in order to become a good human being and citizen of society. The need for civic sense begins at home. The child grows up imitating all these values and hence passes it on to his or her future children as well as all who associate with him or her. A large chain is created where one civilized youth influences ten other individuals and they respectively influence further ten and so on and so forth. The society, as a whole, is benefited through this civic sense training. This would not deal solely on just theory but also involve practical applications. Little field trips can be organized which will have specific themes like conservation of forests and hence planting trees will be encouraged. Also, there would be posters etc made for certain issues that are concerning society today. Little skits that deal with general good habits etc can also be performed by the students themselves in order to learn.
Due to the easy availability of different media forms, it becomes imperative to include such an education. Children from ages 9 to 14 should be made to teach compulsory Civic Sense. One must start from a fairly young age, it is important to create a proper foundation for a child so that he or she can grow into a respectable and good human being.
