Islam's conquest of India and the Indian subcontinent Part 1
Many times Muslims will talk about how the West did terrible deeds and expanded by the sword, but what most people in the west don't know is how Islam spread into Persia (Iran), Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Bengal. The Muslim conquest in the Indian subcontinent mainly took place from the 11th to the 17th centuries. It is the bloodiest invasion in the history of the world and almost unknown outside India. This history has been completely wiped out from the Indian History text books. No Indian texts books tells students about the Bloody Muslim conquest of the Indian subcontinent This is in response to klingschor video and videos by therationalizer, patcondell, captaindisguise, stopspamming1, thejinnandtonicshow, embryology quranic miracle Koran I watch the trailer tale of world civilisations documentary tawheed Event

Islam-Islamisation of Indian Subcontinent
Muslim invasion of India Very few know that while the Muslims invaded Persia in 634, they invaded Sindh in India in 638, just a gap of four years. But while Persia succumbed in seventeen years by 651, Muslims took seven hundred years to overrun India (today Sindh is a part of a Muslim country called Pakistan that was carved out of Hindu India in 1947). And even after that they could not rule India in peace. The Hindu resistance was not just fierce, but it kept increasing in ferocity till with the Marathas, the Hindus overtook the Muslims in their ferocity. It was this lesson which the Hindus learnt from the Muslims an applied against the Muslims that led to the Hindu (Maratha) victories against the beast-like Muslims. It was the Marathas who presaged President Bush when he said "We will hunt down our enemies" The Marathas literally hundred down the Muslims. Foul Tactics used by the Muslims against Indians.Although the Arab Muslims attacked India in 638, they were repeatedly defeated by the Rajas of Makara (Makran) and Sindh. The Arab chroniclers then wrote derisive accounts of the reasons for their defeats at the hands of the Hindus by saying that the Hidus practice Voodoo and Black Magic and so bring Jinns and Shaitan to help them in war. So the Arabs cannot defeat them, the way they could easily defeat the Persians and the Byzantines. We need only to remember how the Greeks under Alexander overcame the Persian Achemanian empire in a few years, after which they attacked <b>...</b>

INDIAN Subcontinent from Space(NASA Video)
India lit up at night. This media, courtesy of NASA, was taken by the crew of Expedition 29 on October 21, 2011. It starts over Turkmenistan, moving east. India begins past the long wavy solid orange line, marking the lights at the India-Pakistan borderline. New Delhi, India's capital and the Kathiawar Peninsula are lit. So are Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore and many smaller cities in central and southern India, as this International Space Station's video shifts south-eastward through southern India, into the Bay of Bengal. Lightning storms are also present, represented by the flashing lights throughout the video. The pass ends over western Indonesia.

S Misra: Partition of India in Context -1/5
This is an objective and scholarly - yet totally accessible - account of the various forces that led to the Partition of the Indian Subcontinent in 1947. Professor Salil Misra outlines the role of key factors in facilitating Hindu-Muslim divide: (a) transition from local to national economy; (b) perception of a crisis in Islam due to collapse of Islamic empires and Western colonialism; (c) British "divide-and-rule" policies and related administrative and political institutions; (d) relative weakness of Indian nationalist movements in the struggle for independence; and (e) growth of communal organizations in the 20th century. He debunks the popular "two-nation" theory by describing how Muslims have been integrated in Indian society through most of Indian history and that Hindu-Muslim unity reached its zenith in 1857's War of Independence. This lecture was recorded in August 2008. PLEASE READ MY COMMENTS ON THE VIDEO BEFORE WATCHING.

Indian Geography 1
This is a quick five minute outline of the geography of the Indian subcontinent, and its relationship with world history. It's not as good as some of my other videos, but I'm short on time today. (I don't think this video is as good. I think that I can do these videos from memory, but really I ought to make scripts and do them that way).

Indian Geography 2
This is the follow-up to the earlier video about indian geography, and recognizing the major elements of the Indian subcontinent from the perspective of world history. (I'm getting better at creating these videos, which tends to mean that I push myself to make them too fast, and not verify elements of them. They'll likely have to be redone, because I got sloppy here.)

Barbara Metcalf - Being Muslim in India: A Singer, a Madman, and a Schoolgirl in their own Words
Hosted by the Asian Studies department, as part of the 2010 Virani Lecture Series in Islamic Studies, one of the most important directions in religious studies over recent decades has been an emphasis on the lived experience of those who participate in any given transcendent tradition that includes such domains of life as ritual, worship, and sacred authority. This approach invariably brings home the extraordinary diversity of ways of being part of any sacred tradition. Nonetheless, outsiders often attribute to Islamic sacred texts singular meanings and absolute authority as, indeed, do some Muslim ideologues themselves. In contrast, this talk explores the value of a more contextual approach to understanding engagement with Islamic texts and symbols, and provides examples from three different parts of the Indian subcontinent in three different centuries. The talk introduces an Isma`ili poet who flourished 600 years ago in the northwestern area of the subcontinent; an ex-soldier in colonial central India; and, finally, a young Bengali college girl affiliated with a Jama`at Islamic organization in todays Bangladesh. Webcast Sponsored by the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre.

SRINAGAR LAKE DAL KASHMIR INDIA
1975 en.wikipedia.org Srinagar (Hindi: श्रीनगर, Urdu: سرینگر, Kashmiri: سِرېنَگَر सिरीनगर) , is the summer capital of the state of Jammu and Kashmir in India, and is situated in the valley of Kashmir. The city lies on both banks of the Jhelum River, a tributary of the Indus River. The city is famous for its lakes and houseboats floating over them. It is also known for traditional Kashmiri handicrafts and dry fruits. Srinagar is 876 km north of Delhi. The headquarters of the Srinagar District are situated in the city. Tourism is the most significant segment of the city's economy. The city of Srinagar has been serving as a gateway to some of the most scenic and beautiful places of the Indian subcontinent. For decades, tourism has been contributing massively to the economy of the city for last several decades, but it has been adversely affected on account of insurgent activities by certain elements. Dal Lake, going from the Mughal Gardens side back to SrinagarSrinagar is well known for its lakes. Dal Lake with its houseboats is famous all over the world. Srinagar is a small and beautiful city with a wonderful climate in the summer. Just outside the city are found the beautiful Shalimar Gardens created by Jehangir, the Mughal emperor, in 1619. Houseboats were introduced accidentally to Kashmir: members of the Indian Civil Service serving in the plains who vacationed in Kashmir were not permitted to build permanent homes because of the then Maharaja's suspicion <b>...</b>

India, officially the Republic of India (Hindi: भारत गणराज्य Bhārat Gaṇarājya; see also other Indian languages), is a country in South Asia. It is a parliamentary federal republic consisting of 28 states and 7 union territories. It is the seventh largest country by geographical area, the second most populous country, and the most populous democracy in the world. Bounded by the Indian Ocean on the south, the Arabian Sea on the west, and the Bay of Bengal on the east, India has a coastline of 7517 kilometers (4671 mi).[13] It borders Pakistan to the west;[14] China, Nepal, and Bhutan to the north-east; and Bangladesh and Burma to the east. India is in the vicinity of Sri Lanka, the Maldives, and Indonesia in the Indian Ocean. Home to the Indus Valley Civilization and a region of historic trade routes and vast empires, the Indian subcontinent was identified with its commercial and cultural wealth for much of its long history.[15] Four major world religions, Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism originated here, while Zoroastrianism, Judaism, Christianity and Islam arrived in the first millennium CE and shaped the region's diverse culture. Gradually annexed by the British East India Company from the early eighteenth century and colonised by the United Kingdom from the mid-nineteenth century, India became a modern nation state in 1947 after a struggle for independence that was marked by widespread nonviolent resistance. India has the world's twelfth largest <b>...</b>

Pandit Bhimsen Joshi - Raga Sur Malhar - Monsoon Raga - Madhaya Laya Ektal - Drut Laya Teental
SwarBhaskar VishawaRatna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi. ( 4th Feb 1922 - 24th Jan 2011 ) ======================================================== Mechanism of Monsoon....... Monsoon is a tropical phenomenon. Indian subcontinent, lying northwards of the equator up to the Himalayas and Hindukush, lies primarily in the tropical zone of the Northern Hemisphere. It involves winds blowing from the south-west direction (known as South-West Monsoon) from the Indian Ocean onto the Indian landmass during the months of June through September. These are generally rain-bearing winds, blowing from sea to land, and bring rains to most parts of the subcontinent. They split into two branches, the Arabian Sea Branch and the Bay of Bengal Branch near the southern-most end of the Indian Peninsula. They are eagerly awaited in most parts of India for their agricultural and economic importance. Subsequently later in the year, around October, these winds reverse direction and start blowing from north-east direction. Given their land to sea flow, from subcontinent onto the Indian Ocean, they have less moisture and bring rain to only limited parts of India like Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. This is known as the North-East Monsoon. However, this rain is responsible for the rice bowls of South India. This mechanism completes the annual Monsoon cycle of the Indian subcontinent.
