Knile Davis (born October 5, 1991) is an American football running back for the Arkansas Razorbacks.

High school career[link]

Davis attended Thurgood Marshall High School in Missouri City, Texas, where he was a four-star recruit according to Rivals.com.^[1] He was ranked the No. 3 running back prospect in the state of Texas, behind only Christine Michael and Waymon James.^[2]

His football career was cut short by injuries. He played only four games in his junior year due to a fractured collarbone, finishing the season with 425 rushing yards and four touchdowns. As a senior, he suffered a broken ankle in the first game of the season, in which he had 33 carries for 278 yards and two touchdowns as well as three receptions for 46 yards. His missed the remainder of his senior season.^[3]

As a sophomore in 2010 Davis rushed for 1,322 yards with 13 touchdowns and was a second team All-SEC selection.^[4] Davis led all SEC runningbacks in rushing yards, although Cam Newton (QB, Auburn) led the SEC in total rushing yards. Davis was named 1st team SEC by the AP voters, for the 2010 season.

2011 season[link]

Davis was carted off the field from practice on August 11 with a left ankle injury. The injury was announced by the University of Arkansas the next day as season ending.^[5]

James Christian "Jimmy" Kimmel (born November 13, 1967) is an American comedian, actor, voice artist and television host. He is the host of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, a late-night talk show that airs on ABC. Prior to that, Kimmel was best known as the co-host of Comedy Central's The Man Show and Win Ben Stein's Money. Kimmel is also a television producer, having produced shows such as Crank Yankers, Sports Show with Norm Macdonald, and The Andy Milonakis Show.

Early life[link]

Kimmel was born in the Mill Basin neighborhood of the New York City borough of Brooklyn,^[1] the eldest of three children of Joann (née Iacono), a homemaker, and James Kimmel, an IBM executive.^[2][3][4] He is Roman Catholic and, as a child, served as an altar boy.^[5][6] Kimmel is of German and Irish descent on his father’s side and Italian descent on his mother’s side.^[7] His uncle, Frank Potenza, appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! as a regular from 2003 until his death in 2011.^[8]

The family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, when he was nine years old.^[2] He graduated from Ed W. Clark High School and then attended University of Nevada, Las Vegas for one year before attending Arizona State University for two years without completing a degree.

Kimmel began working in the radio industry while in high school, hosting a Sunday night interview show on UNLV's college station KUNV. While attending Arizona State University, he became a popular caller to the KZZP-FM afternoon show hosted by radio personalities Mike Elliott and Kent Voss in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1989, Kimmel landed his first paying job alongside Voss as morning drive co-host of The Me and Him Show at KZOK-FM in Seattle, Washington. Ten months later, Kimmel and Voss were fired by KZOK (for reasons unknown) and were fired again a year later at WRBQ-FM in Tampa, Florida. Kimmel went from Tampa to host his own show at KCMJ in Palm Springs, California, where Kimmel convinced a young Carson Daly to drop out of college and become his intern. After a morning stint at KRQQ In Tucson, Arizona, Kimmel landed at KROQ-FM in Los Angeles. He spent five years as "Jimmy The Sports Guy" for the Kevin and Bean morning show. During this time he met and befriended a struggling comedian named Adam Carolla.^{[citation needed]}

Kimmel began his television career as the comedic counterpart to Ben Stein on the game show Win Ben Stein's Money, which began airing on Comedy Central in 1997. His quick wit and loutish everyman personality were counterpoints to Stein's monotone performing style and patrician demeanor. The combination earned the pair an Emmy award for Best Game Show Host.^{[citation needed]}

In 1999, during his time with Win Ben Stein's Money, Kimmel was also co-host with Adam Carolla and co-creator (with Daniel Kellison) of Comedy Central's The Man Show. Kimmel permanently left Win Ben Stein's Money in 2001, replaced by comedian Nancy Pimental, who was eventually replaced by Kimmel's cousin Sal Iacono. The Man Show's success allowed Kimmel, Carolla and Kellison to create and produce, under the banner Jackhole Industries, Crank Yankers for Comedy Central (on which Kimmel plays the characters "Elmer Higgins", "Terrence Catheter", "The Nudge", "Karl Malone" and himself), and later The Andy Milonakis Show for MTV2. Kimmel also produced and co-wrote the feature film Windy City Heat, which won the Comedia Award for Best Film at the Montreal Comedy Festival.^{[citation needed]}

In January 2003, Kimmel permanently left The Man Show to host his own late-night talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live! on ABC. Jimmy Kimmel Live was briefly also broadcast on Irish digital TV channel 3e.^[9] In the April 2007 issue of Stuffmagazine.com, Kimmel was named the "biggest badass on TV". Kimmel said it was an honor but clearly a mistake.

Since the show's second season, it has not actually been broadcast live. This is due to an incident during the 2004 NBA Finals in Detroit, when Kimmel appeared on ABC's halftime show to make an on-air plug for his show. He suggested that if the Detroit Pistons defeated the Los Angeles Lakers, "they're gonna burn the city of Detroit down ... and it's not worth it." Officials with Detroit's ABC affiliate, WXYZ-TV, immediately announced that night's show would not air on the station. Hours later, ABC officials pulled that night's show from the entire network. Kimmel later apologized.^[10] The incident led ABC officials to force Kimmel to tape his show an hour before it airs in most of the country to check for offending content.^[11]

Kimmel usually ends his show with, "My apologies to Matt Damon, we ran out of time." When Matt Damon did actually appear on the show to be interviewed, he walked in and sat down only to be told just a few seconds later by Kimmel, "Sorry, but once again we are completely out of time." Damon seemed to become angry.^{[citation needed]}

In February 2008 Kimmel showed a mock music video with a panoply of stars called, "I'm Fucking Ben Affleck",^[12] as "revenge" after his then-girlfriend Sarah Silverman and Matt Damon recorded a similar video, "I'm Fucking Matt Damon". Silverman's video originally aired on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and became an "instant YouTube sensation."^[13] Kimmel's "revenge" video featured himself, Ben Affleck, and a large lineup of stars, particularly in scenes spoofing the 1985 "We Are the World" video: Brad Pitt, Don Cheadle, Cameron Diaz, Robin Williams, Harrison Ford, Dominic Monaghan, Benji Madden and Joel Madden from Good Charlotte, Lance Bass, Macy Gray, Josh Groban, Huey Lewis, Perry Farrell, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Pete Wentz, Meat Loaf, Rebecca Romijn, Christina Applegate, Dom Joly, Mike Shinoda, Lauren Conrad, and Joan Jett, among others. After this Jimmy's sidekick, Guillermo, appeared in a spoof of The Bourne Ultimatum, which starred Damon. He was then chased down by Damon as Matt cursed about Kimmel being behind all this. Guillermo also stopped Damon on the red carpet one time and before he could finish the interview he said, "Sorry we are out of time." The most recent encounter was titled "The Handsome Men's Club" which featured Kimmel, along with the "Handsome Men", who were: Matthew McConaughey, Rob Lowe, Lenny Kravitz, Patrick Dempsey, Sting, Keith Urban, John Krasinski, Ethan Hawke, Josh Hartnett, Tony Romo, Ted Danson, Taye Diggs, Gilles Marini, and Ben Affleck, speaking about being handsome and all the jobs that come with it. At the end of the skit Kimmel has a door slammed in his face by none other than Matt Damon, stating that they had run out of time and then Damon continues with a sinister laugh. Jennifer Garner also makes a surprise appearance.

As a tradition, celebrities voted off Dancing with the Stars appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, causing Kimmel to describe himself as "the three-headed dog the stars must pass on their way to No-Dancing Hell".^[14] In the 2008 season of his show, Kimmel started another tradition of ceremonially burning the dancers' shoes after they were voted off DWTS.^{[citation needed]}

Kimmel's other television work included being the on-air football prognosticator for Fox NFL Sunday for four years. He has had numerous appearances on other talk shows including, but not limited to, Live with Regis and Kelly, The Howard Stern Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and The Late Show with David Letterman. Kimmel has appeared on The Late Show five times, most recently in 2010. Kimmel served as roastmaster for the New York Friars' Club Roast of Hugh Hefner and Comedy Central Roasts of Pamela Anderson. He has appeared on ABC's Dancing with the Stars, along with his parking lot security guard Guillermo.

In August 2006, ABC announced that Jimmy Kimmel would be the host of their new game show Set for Life.^[15] The show debuted on July 20, 2007. On April 6, 2007, Kimmel filled in for Larry King on Larry King Live. That particular show was about the paparazzi and Kimmel reproached Emily Gould, an editor from Gawker.com, about the web site's alleged stalking of celebrities. On July 8, 2007, Kimmel managed the National League in the 2007 Taco Bell All-Star Legends and Celebrity Softball Game in San Francisco. He played in the game in 2004 and 2006 (Houston and Pittsburgh). On July 11, 2007, Kimmel along with basketball player LeBron James, hosted the 2007 ESPY Awards. The show aired on ESPN on July 15, 2007. Kimmel hosted the American Music Awards on ABC four times, in 2004, 2006, 2007, and 2008.

Kimmel guest hosted Live with Regis and Kelly during the week of October 22, 2007 – October 26, 2007, commuting every day between New York and Los Angeles. In the process, he broke the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest distance (22,406 miles (36,059 km)) travelled in one work week.^[16]

Kimmel has performed in several animated films, often voicing dogs. His voice appeared in Garfield and Road Trip, and he portrayed Death's Dog in the Family Guy episode "Mr. Saturday Knight"; Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane later presented Kimmel with a figurine of his character on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Kimmel also did voice work for Robot Chicken. Kimmel's cousin "Sal" (Sal Iacono) has accepted and won a wrestling match with WWE superstar Santino Marella. On January 14, 2010, in the midst of the 2010 Tonight Show host and time slot conflict, Kimmel was the special guest of Jay Leno on The Jay Leno Show's "10 at 10" segment. Kimmel derided Leno in front of a live studio audience for taking back the 11:35 pm time slot from Conan O'Brien, and repeatedly insulted Leno. He ended the segment with a plea that Leno "leave our shows alone," as Kimmel and O'Brien had "kids" while Leno only had "cars".^[17]

Kimmel also made a brief appearance in the TV commercial "There's A Soldier In All Of Us" promoting the 2010 video game Call of Duty: Black Ops, along with Kobe Bryant. He is seen taking cover from bullets, then firing an RPG-7 with the words PROUD N00b on it, with the aftershock from the weapon sending him tumbling backwards.

He has been asked to host the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards which will air on September 23, 2012, marking his first time hosting the event.^[18]

Kimmel hosted the White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington, D.C. on April 28, 2012.

Kimmel and his then girlfriend, Gina, married in June 1988. They have two children, Katie (born 1991) and Kevin (born 1993). The marriage ended in separation in early 2002. Kimmel then dated comedian Sarah Silverman for five years, splitting with her in March 2009.^[19] He started dating current girlfriend, Molly McNearney, in October 2009. McNearney is also a co-head writer for Jimmy Kimmel Live.^[20]

Kimmel plays the bass clarinet. He got a chance to showcase his talent during a July 20, 2008, concert in Costa Mesa, California, featuring the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, when he took the stage and played bass clarinet on their hit song "The Impression That I Get."^[21]

Kimmel has spoken publicly of being a narcoleptic.^[22]

Kimmel co-founded the annual LA Feast of San Gennaro,^[23] which celebrates Italian culture through entertainment, music and cuisine. The festival also honors outstanding members of the Los Angeles community and raises funds to aid needy children and families in the city. He hosted Los Angeles' eighth annual feast of San Gennaro from September 28 to 30, 2009.^[24] Kimmel served as Master of Ceremonies for the National Italian American Foundation's 34th Anniversary Gala in Washington, D.C., on October 24, 2009.

Alexis Davis is a fictional character on the ABC soap opera, General Hospital. Nancy Lee Grahn originated the role in April 1996. She is the daughter of Mikkos Cassadine and Kristin Bergman. She is also the mother of Sam Morgan, Kristina Davis and Molly Lansing. She has been dating Police Commissioner Mac Scorpio.

Alexis is the daughter of Mikkos Cassadine, a Greco-Russian prince, and his mistress Kristin Bergman, a Swedish opera singer. Mikkos' wife Helena Cassadine slit Kristin's throat in front of young Alexis, who develops partial amnesia and forgets her true identity. Alexis is taken into Mikkos' house to be raised as a poor relative with the last name Davidovitch, while her infant sister disappears. Alexis' half-brother Stavros Cassadine torments her, but her other half-brother Stefan Cassadine (who believes that she is indeed his cousin) protects her, gaining her loyalty. While attending a boarding school in New Hampshire,^[1] Alexis, 16, becomes pregnant, but her father Mikkos Cassadine takes the baby, who grows up to be Sam McCall, and gives her up for adoption. Davis graduated from Yale University as an undergraduate and earned a J.D. from Yale Law School.

1996–2005[link]

Stefan, who has instructed Alexis to change her name to Davis, brings her to Port Charles to aid in the legal side of his vendetta against Luke Spencer, the husband of his former lover Laura Spencer. Alexis is protective of Stefan and her nephew Nikolas Cassadine, going as far to make Stefan believe that his lover Katherine Bell was actually his half-sister Natasha. Upon learning of her deception, Stefan banishes her from his life. Luke helps her discover her true identity as the real Natasha, and Helena uses this to force Alexis to aid her in an attempt to wrest control of the Cassadine empire from Stefan, in turn giving Alexis the princess birthright she deserved. However, Alexis didn't want to become like the rest of the cruel, murderous Cassadines, and gave up her position as princess. Alexis falls in love with Ned Ashton, but marries Jasper "Jax" Jacks as part of a convoluted plan to help her best friend Chloe Morgan save her company. Chloe eventually loses her company, and Alexis and Jax divorce. She reluctantly accepts Ned's proposal, and the two plan a massive wedding. However, her doubts get the better of her, and she leaves a devastated Ned at the altar.

She reluctantly becomes a lawyer for mob boss Sonny Corinthos, and aids Sonny and his enforcer Jason Morgan in their various legal struggles, including custody disputes. After Sonny is arrested, Alexis convinces him to marry her enemy Carly Roberts so that she would be unable to testify against him. She and Sonny bonded over their mutually complicated relationships and their affection for troubled teen Zander Smith. Sonny went on to save her life, when she, Zander, Sonny and Emily Quartermaine were attacked by a rival mafia family. Alexis is left devastated by the murder of Chloe, but was comforted by Jax, who found her presumed dead sister Kristina Carter. Through this, Sonny Corinthos has been her support. Kristina claims her birthright and becomes a Cassadine Princess, despite Helena's plots to attempt to murder her. Sonny also learned he had a sister, Courtney Matthews, and Courtney and Kristina both noticed the deepening bond between Alexis and Sonny. When Courtney elopes with Sonny's enemy, A.J. Quartermaine, he decides to have A.J. killed. Alexis is able to get Sonny to reverse the decision, and Sonny realizes how much Alexis means to him.

That night, Sonny and Alexis make love, which is witnessed by his ex-wife, Carly. A distraught Carly is in a car accident, and Alexis encourages Sonny to return to his former wife. Alexis learns she is pregnant, but decides against telling Sonny, who has turned against Zander and is threatening his life. Ned, who is dating her sister Kristina, claims to be the father. Kristina learns the truth, but is critically injured a warehouse explosion meant for Sonny and decides to keep her sister's secret before dying. At Kristina's memorial service, the devastated Alexis berates Sonny, Jason, and Roy DiLucca, and reminds Sonny that her "Cassadine ancestors were ruling countries when his were toiling in the fields with the other peasants."

She gives birth to a girl, that she names Kristina, and she and Ned furiously work to keep her new enemy Sonny from learning the truth. When Luis Alcazar threatens the life of her daughter, Alexis confronts him and he accidentally falls to his death. She fakes dissociative identity disorder to avoid jail time, while Ned is given custody of Kristina. As Ned and Skye Quartermaine try to gain full custody of the baby, Alexis disguises herself as a man named Dobson and begins working at the Quartermaine mansion to be closer to her daughter. Ned eventually drops the suit, and gives her full custody of her daughter. During a fire at the Port Charles Hotel, Alexis reveals to Carly that Sonny is actually Kristina's father. When Kristina is diagnosed with leukemia and needs bone marrow, Sonny learns the truth, and it is discovered that Kristina's only hope for survival is in stem cells from the unborn child of Sonny and his former lover Sam McCall. As Kristina will not survive long enough for the baby to be born, Alexis attempts to convince Sam to induce labor two weeks early, but eventually grows desperate and insults and pressures her into agreeing. However, Alexis immediately realizes she went too far when Sam collapses during the confrontation and is rushed to an emergency Caesarian, and is left horrified and guilt-ridden when Sam's baby is stillborn; however, Kristina nonetheless gets the stem cells she needs to survive.

Sonny's half-brother, Ric Lansing, attempts to get closer to Alexis, as he believes being involved in Kristina's life will give him an advantage in his contentious relationship with Sonny. The two marry and have a baby, which is named Molly Lansing. Alexis and unborn Molly were nearly killed in a train wreck caused by Manny Ruiz, a killer from a Miami crime family who had stalked and terrorized Jason and Sam for months, including shooting Jason and trying to rape Sam. While awaiting trial Manny is diagnosed and has surgical repair for a brain defect that caused his violent behavior. He is now considered cured. She is the court-appointed defense lawyer for Manny. Jason and Sam insist that Manny is faking and that things will end badly, but Alexis refuses to heed their warnings and gets Manny acquitted.

2006–09[link]

During an encephalitis epidemic Alexis receives the last antidote. This results in the death of Sam's mentally retarded older brother Danny, which only increases Sam's animosity towards Alexis.

After several brushes with death, Alexis decides to find the daughter she was forced by her father to give up for adoption when she was 16 years old. Her investigation leads to a death certificate for a 3-year old girl having been hit by a car. Unbeknownst to her Sam and Jason have been searching for Sam's mother and discover that it's Alexis which makes Sam very upset because she blames Alexis for the deaths in her family. Sam tells Jason that she doesn't want Alexis to know but can't help stalking Alexis, Kristina and Molly yearning for the mother she never had. Alexis tried to be patient with her. When Manny shoots Sam and she's going to die Jason tells Alexis the truth and she goes to the hospital to be with Sam. Sam is glad she came. Alexis is a little overwhelmed by the news and that her daughter is a woman she has such a volatile relationship with.

Alexis knows that Sam was nearly killed because of Jason and the mob and guilts Jason into breaking up with Sam for her own safety even though they love each other. Sam is heartbroken. Alexis knows Sam has nowhere to go and buys a big house at a lake so there would be a room for Sam to live with her. Alexis has good intentions but she also tries to control Sam into making the choices that Alexis would make. She arranges for Sam to get a job at the Port Charles Police Department and buys her clothes that she thinks are appropriate.

Sam is kidnapped by Manny in an attempt to get Jason to come after him saying that Sam is his biggest weakness. Terrified, Alexis makes a plea on TV for Manny to return Sam. She does everything she can to help the police find her. Mac Scorpio is quick to throw it in Alexis' face that the whole ordeal is her fault for setting Manny free in the first place. She has Jason arrested to prompt Manny to let Sam go because Jason was no longer available to fight with but Jason quickly escapes and rescues Sam killing Manny in the process.

When Alexis discovers that Carly, Jason's best friend, is trying to get them back together, Alexis confronts Jason. She threatens that she will have him arrested for killing Manny. She attempts to convince him to stop Carly from doing so, eventually leading to an argument with Sam; Alexis furiously suggests that Sam live elsewhere to prevent Kristina and Molly from being exposed to her "pathetic, degraded attitude", while Sam insists that Alexis sees her as trash and hates that she is her daughter, though Alexis appears visibly hurt by her accusations. Jason tells Sam that he chooses to no longer love her and that it's over for good. Infuriated and hurt by Alexis and Jason, Sam gets drunk and ends up having sex with Ric in the living room. Alexis and Jason both witness this, and Jason takes Alexis to the hospital when she suffers uncontrollable coughing.

Alexis is diagnosed with second-stage lung cancer. She pretends to not have seen her husband and daughter having sex. She notes that Sam had been sexually involved with two other men in her life: Jax and Sonny. Sam wants to help Alexis beat the cancer and Alexis continually forces Sam into uncomfortable situations with Ric because she can't get the picture of them together out of her head. Alexis tells Sam that she wants her to take custody of the girls if Alexis dies and makes Sam promise to never get back together with Jason so the violence stays away from the girls.

In an attempt to get custody of Molly, Ric frames Sam for theft of police evidence against Jason. Alexis knows that Ric framed her and when Sam is charged with murdering Diego Alcazar as well Alexis knows that she has to step in to help Sam even though she's disgusted with what she did. Kristina saw Sam shoot Diego and she is traumatized to the point where she won't speak. Alexis defends Sam at the risk of her health because she believes she owes a duty as her mother. Out of compassion for Alexis' declining health Ric lets go of his vendetta against Sam and drops the charges.

Ric finds out that Alexis has been using medical marijuana to counter the effects of the chemo and he takes full custody of Molly. When his father Trevor Lansing comes to town as part of the Zacchara mafia organization, he returns Molly to her mother's care, and the two eventually settle on joint custody.

In 2007 Sam goes to Alexis and tells her how sorry she is for everything she put her through and Alexis forgives her. The two agree to work past their differences.

In 2008, Alexis, now the DA again, begins dating Jerry Jacks despite Sam's protests that he took everybody hostage at the Metro Court. Sam begins an investigation into a counterfeit drug ring claiming that Jerry was involved. Jerry tells Alexis that Sam has been coming on to him and Alexis becomes furious with her because of Sam's history with Alexis' men. Jerry goes missing in a boat explosion when he tries to kill Sam and then Alexis and Sam reconcile.

In April 2009, Alexis learns from her friend Jax that Jerry had faked his death and was involved with the mob hit that resulted in the accidental shooting of Michael Corinthos III.

In the summer of 2009, it is revealed that Alexis slept with the mayor while she was being treated for cancer. In a public scandal that embarrasses her young daughters, this indiscretion, which Alexis insists was a one-night stand, is portrayed as an extended affair in which she stalked the mayor, causing her to become a suspect in the suspicious death of Brianna Hughes, the mayor's mistress. Distraught, Alexis goes to speak with the mayor's wife to try to clear up the misunderstanding. That same night, Sonny's wife, Claudia, is run off the road and loses her unborn child. With the mayor's wife declaring that Alexis drove off in a rage about the time of the accident, Alexis is soon a suspect in that case as well. But Alexis is later cleared of both crimes. Playing detective, Robin Scorpio and Patrick Drake prove that Brianna was murdered by the mayor's wife. The mayor subsequently offers Alexis her job back as the district attorney as an apology, but she turns him down on the grounds that she enjoys having more time to spend with her family.

The night of Claudia's accident, Kristina runs off to Mexico with her brother Michael. Alexis initially blames Michael for Kristina's suddenly rebellious behavior, but Sam reveals that Kristina has been rebellious and emotionally overwhelmed for a while because she believes that she has to be perfect to keep Alexis' love; though Alexis initially refuses to believe Sam, she is eventually convinced. When it is discovered that it was one of Alexis' cars was the one that ran Claudia off the road, Alexis suspects that it was Kristina who did so and immediately confesses to the crime to protect her. However, Nikolas arranges a plea bargain and Alexis gets off with six months of community service.

Eventually, Jason and Sam find Michael and Kristina and bring them home, and Kristina admits that she was indeed the one who ran Claudia off the road. Alexis reassures Kristina that she loves her and she doesn't have to be perfect for her, but ends up getting into an argument with Sam over whether or not Alexis is too lenient with Kristina when the latter tells Kristina that she needs to tell Sonny and Claudia the truth as soon as possible. Alexis believes that it could have waited a little longer, and eventually Sam loses patience and leaves after warning that Kristina will eventually spiral out of control, leaving Alexis shocked and upset. Though angry, Sonny and Claudia ultimately forgive Kristina and agree not to turn her in. Shortly afterwards, Jason and Sam rekindle their romance; though she still has her doubts, Alexis respectfully accepts Sam's decision and chooses not to interfere.

2009–10[link]

Alexis' close friend and colleague Diane Miller shows up for Thanksgiving dinner with the Davis girls, but Molly quickly persuades Diane to go elsewhere declaring, to Alexis' surprise, that they have a prior commitment. Molly privately confesses to a delighted Diane that she and Kristina are taking Alexis to Robin's house for the holiday as they are plotting to set up Alexis with Robin's uncle, Mac Scorpio. Robin also discusses the plot with a skeptical Sam McCall, saying that the two guests of honor had very obvious chemistry at the "nonwedding" of Maxie Jones and Damian Spinelli. Alexis and Mac realize something is afoot at the dinner and sternly tell the girls it is a waste of time. But Alexis and Mac are thrown together several times over the next few weeks, with Mac clearly enjoying her company despite her protests that they should remain just friends. He invites Alexis out for New Year's Eve, and unbeknownst to Alexis, Molly accepts on her behalf. When Mac shows up for the date, he takes Molly's subterfuge in stride and persuades a surprised and reluctant Alexis to go anyway, if only as friends. She insists on driving, and they engage in light-hearted verbal sparring when her hybrid car breaks down on the way to the Metro Court. They end up dancing under the stars on a snow-covered roadside.

That spring, Kristina enters into an abusive relationship with a boy named Kiefer Bauer, who savagely beats her twice. Kristina initially identifies Ethan Lovett as her assailant, but Alexis discovers that Kiefer is responsible after the second attack, during which she catches Kiefer leaving the house immediately before finding Kristina beaten and unconscious on the floor. While driving Kristina to the hospital, Alexis accidentally hits Kiefer with her car, killing him. The truth about Kiefer and Kristina's attacks quickly becomes public knowledge, and Ethan is given a clean slate.

Though she hides her guilt for a while, Alexis soon confesses. Mac charges her, but lets her go on her own recognizance, and she admits the truth to Kristina. Kristina is able to forgive her, but Kiefer's parents, particularly his father Warren, are not; convinced that Kristina is lying about Kiefer hurting her and that Alexis deliberately ran him down, Warren swears revenge on both Alexis and Kristina. Uncertain of what will happen next, Alexis takes Kristina to recuperate at Wyndemere with Nikolas, and is dismayed to learn that Helena will be living there as well. Kristina finally begins to heal mentally, and Alexis thanks Nikolas for his help.

During this time, Sonny is put on trial for Claudia's murder, and Alexis serves as co-counselor to Kristina in order to convince her that Sonny is not such a bad person.

When Sonny's trial nears its end, the prosecutor, Claire Walsh, issues a subpoena to bring Michael in to testify, believing that Michael's testimony will ensure Sonny's conviction. Upon learning of what happened to Kristina, Michael returns to town to visit her. Unfortunately, Alexis returns while Michael is talking to Kristina at the lake house; already having enough trouble on her hands with Kiefer's hit-and-rin, Alexis is unwilling to risk any more legal trouble and unhesitatingly alerts the police to Michael's return. Dante, having discovered that it was actually Michael who killed Claudia, albeit to protect Carly, announces his brother's involvement right before the verdict on Sonny comes in, and Michael is brought to the stand and forced to confess. Alexis, like everyone else, is taken aback when Judge Carroll decides to make an example of Michael by giving him the particularly harsh sentence of two-to-five years in Pentonville Adult Correctional Facility. In order to protect Michael, Jason makes a deal with Claire and is sent there along with him. Nonetheless, Alexis begins to worry about her chances of escaping prison time for Kiefer's hit-and-run, because she basically did the same thing Michael did. However, thanks to Diane's maneuvering, Alexis gets off with a suspended sentence and community service; unfortunately, Warren pushes a civil suit in retaliation. Dante eventually gets Michael out of Pentonville, but Jason is forced to remain behind for several months.

In early June, Kristina begins to pretend-date Johnny in order to spite her father, and ignores everyone's warnings that doing so is dangerous. With tensions between Johnny and Sonny reaching a boiling point, Alexis follows Sam's advice and visits Jason in Pentonville, hoping that he might convince Johnny to back off. Jason tells her that he is not certain if he will be able to do anything, but the two agree that Kristina is the one who is pushing the issue. Before leaving, Alexis admits to Jason that she admires him for sacrificing so much for Michael but lets him see how it's affecting Sam. Kristina ultimately learns her lesson the hard way when she is caught in a car bomb meant for Johnny; fortunately, Kristina survives with minimal injuries. Furious, Alexis confronts Sonny and has no choice but to believe him for the time being when he denies any part in the bomb.

On July 23, 2010, Warren Bauer finally snaps and induces a shootout at General Hospital, critically wounding Mac and Ethan before being shot down by Mac himself. When Alexis and Sonny discover this, she tearfully remarks that she is to blame for every bad thing that has happened to Kristina, citing the fact that she was the one who encouraged Kristina to date Kiefer in the first place as proof, while Sonny comforts her and tries to convince her otherwise.

In September 2010, Alexis gently warns Brook Lynn Ashton that getting romantically involved with Nicholas would be a bad idea. On November 5, 2010, Sonny is discovered to be the one who planted the bomb in Johnny's car and is arrested. When Alexis discovers this, she is shocked and uncertain how Kristina will react, but when she comes to the police station, she is pleasantly surprised to see that Kristina has finally made peace with Sonny. Sonny is shortly after cleared of all charges when Claire discovers that Ronnie Dimestico had obtained the evidence against Sonny illegally.

2011—[link]

In spring 2011, Alexis is hired to be Jax's lawyer when he becomes convinced that Carly is an unfit mother to Josslyn and decides to fight her for full custody. Though Alexis aids Jax in his attempts, she is fully aware that Jax is being unreasonable and continually urges him to try and compromise with Carly to no avail; recalling that her attempts to keep Kristina safe from Sonny's violent world did nothing but convince Kristina that her father didn't love her, Alexis fears that Jax may make the same mistake with Josslyn.

During this time, Alexis faces still further problems with Kristina when she begins to want to date Ethan. When she sneaks off to the Dominican Republic to help Ethan divorce Maya, Alexis mistakenly assumes that they have done so to get married and goes there with Sonny to stop it, only to discover the truth. Despite their lack of support, Ethan makes it clear to Alexis and Sonny that he will see Kristina whenever he wants.

At Kristina and Michael's graduation ceremony, Michael gets in a fight with Bryce, a classmate, and nearly loses his chance to get his diploma, but Sonny intimidates the mayor into giving in. Everyone subsequently discovers from Kristina that Bryce instigated it by telling her that she deserved to get beat up by Kiefer. Though Alexis attempts to make an example of Michael's bad behavior and criticize Sonny for strongarming the mayor, everyone present readily defends both their actions and insist that Bryce deserved to get hit for what he said to Kristina, Carly even stating that she would gladly have done so herself. Sam ends the argument by insisting that Kristina and Michael are adults now and their choices are their own to deal with.

Jax sues Carly for divorce as well as full custody of Josslyn. He asks Alexis to represent him. One reason he cites is that Carly refuses to disassociate herself from mobsters Jason and Sonny. Jax pulls out all the stops to ensure that he will win full custody of Josslyn, going so far as to issue subpoenas for Michael and Morgan to testify. Knowing that the Corinthos brothers' testimonies are unnecessary, Alexis accuses Jax of simply doing all of this to hurt Carly like she hurt him and warns him not to lose sight of what's best for Josslyn. Jax continues to be hard-headed and refuses to listen to Alexis' argument. On July 7, 2011, Alexis is confronted by Carly, who reveals that Jax attempted to convince the mediator that Michael is a dangerous social outcast who shouldn't be alone with Josslyn and desperately begs her not to let Jax take Josslyn away. With this, Alexis finally decides to resign from the case on the grounds that it is unfair to both mother and daughter, with Jax's complete understanding of her situation. Carly later visits and asks Alexis to talk to Jax again offering the hypothetical of whether she'd be able to cut ties with Sonny and Sam if Ric demanded custody of Molly. Alexis does go to see Jax and after explaining what Carly said, Jax tells her that if Molly was their child he would ask her to cut ties with Sam. Alexis appears visibly shocked and heartbroken by this.

On the day of the hearing, Sonny discovers that Jax bribed the mediator to lie and paint Carly as unfit, and subsequently goes behind Carly's back by framing Jax for attempted rape and drug possession, resulting in Carly getting full custody of Josslyn. Outraged and grief-stricken, Jax leaves town, and Brenda also leaves Sonny. Jax subsequently returns and attempts to kidnap Josslyn, but Sonny, furious and blaming Jax for Brenda's departure, tampers with Jax's plane and causes it to crash in the harbor. Grief-stricken, Alexis decides that she shouldn't have resigned from Jax's case, because the danger was real. Alexis subsequently confronts Sonny over Jax's apparent death and tells him to pull himself together, but tells him he can still see Kristina whenever he wants to, acknowledging that her first attempt at keeping them apart didn't do any good for anyone. It is later discovered that Jax parachuted out of the plane before the crash.

Carly, having vowed to distance herself and her family from Sonny, approaches Alexis and asks her for help in keeping their children away from Sonny, but Alexis, openly skeptical that Carly is ready to give up being Sonny's enabler, flatly refuses to help her, reminding her of Kristina's rebellion and car-bomb injuries the year before as a direct result of her trying to keep Kristina and Sonny apart, and subsequently gives Carly a verbal scalding, telling her that what happened to Jax is just as much her fault as Sonny's because she riled Sonny up and set him on Jax in the first place.

During the fall and winter months of 2011/2012 Alexis is seen having what appears to be hot flashes. She is also seen getting very emotional and moody over nothing. Diane later reveals to her that it is menopause, something Diane sees as a good thing and Alexis sees as a disaster. Diane tries to push Alexis and Mac together however her plan doesn't work and in the end she takes Mac home herself. The next day she tells Alexis that she has slept with him, Alexis is not pleased about this and somewhat jokingly calls her a "slut" and a "bitch".

In January 2012, Alexis can tell that something is wrong with Sam and eventually realizes that she is in fact pregnant. She is overjoyed about this and extremely happy for her daughter (even though the term "grandmother" makes her feel very old). Just before she leaves Sam's office she tells her that she can tell something else is wrong and that she should try to just get past it and embrace her pregnancy as it "really is the best time of your life".

Alexis begins to cramp her daughter, Molly's, online style when she friends her on "MyFace", causing Molly to only have 4 other friends as everyone is afraid they'll get in trouble. Alexis wants Molly to have more of a social life and so suggests she help tutor a boy called TJ who is new to Port Charles and staying with Shawn. She soon regrets encouraging Molly to spend so much time with TJ, though. He had, unbeknownst to Molly, arranged a party at the lakehouse on MyFace for when Alexis was to be away at a charity function and invited everyone from their highschool. They turn up with alcohol and Molly accidentally ends up drinking some and passing out. Alexis arrives home furious and grounds Molly and tells her she is not to see TJ anymore.

After Sonny is accused of shooting out Anthony Zaccara's tires and thus causing the death of Cole Thornhart and his daughter Hope, Alexis is called in to be his lawyer. She is able to get Sonny acquitted for lack of evidence. She is also called in to be Maxie's lawyer who has confessed to the police that she killed Lisa Niles on a cruise boat and had a hand in the death of the ship's first mate. Alexis tries desperately to get her to withdraw her statement and not implicate herself anymore than she already has however Maxie is set in her ways that she wants to go to prison (as she feels guilty for the part she played in her cousin, Robin Scorpio's, death). At the preliminary hearing Alexis goes to tell the judge that Maxie pleads not guilty however Maxie steps in and pleads guilty. Despite Alexis' best efforts, Maxie's guilty plea stands and she is sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Hitomi Akano (赤野 仁美, Akano Hitomi^?, born July 27, 1974), is a Japanese female mixed martial artist.^[1] She uses a song she penned herself called "Between the Sky" as her entrance music.^[2]

Akano is a former Smackgirl Middleweight Champion at 128 pounds.^[3] She is currently the #7-ranked 135-pound female fighter in the world according to the Unified Women's MMA Rankings.^[4]

Mixed martial arts career[link]

Akano made her mixed martial arts debut on November 26, 2004 against veteran Megumi Yabushita. She was defeated by Unanimous Decision.

On August 17, 2005, Akano submitted Takayo Hashi at 1:19 of the first round at Smackgirl - Dynamic!!

Akano faced Tara LaRosa at MFC - USA vs. Russia 3 on June 3, 2006. She lost the fight by Unanimous Decision.^[5]

She faced Molly Helsel at Smackgirl - Women Hold Their Ground on September 15, 2006. She won the fight by armbar submission in the second round and became the second Smackgirl Middleweight (128-Pound) Champion.^[6]

On April 14, 2007, Akano faced Amanda Buckner at BodogFight - Clash of the Nations. She was defeated by Unanimous Decision.^[7]

Akano battled Takayo Hashi for the second time at Smackgirl - Queen's Hottest Summer on September 6, 2007. She was defeated by Unanimous Decision and lost the Smackgirl Middleweight Championship.^[3]

Akano fought Vanessa Porto at FFF 3 - War of the Roses on November 3, 2007. She lost the fight by Split Decision.^[8]

Akano rematched Megumi Yabushita in the opening round of the 2008 Smackgirl World ReMix Grand Prix. She defeated Yabushita with a heel hook in the second round.^[9]

Akano advanced to the finals of the ReMix tournament by submitting Hiroko Yamanaka on April 25, 2008,^[10] but Smackgirl closed its doors soon after and was later renamed Jewels.^[11]

On November 16, 2008, Akano submitted Mika Harigai with an armbar in just 38 seconds at Jewels 1st Ring.^[12]

Akano faced Cristiane Santos at Strikeforce: Shamrock vs. Diaz on April 11, 2009. Santos came in six pounds overweight for the fight. Akano originally rejected the fight due to Santos failing to make weight but later accepted the fight.^[13] She lost the fight by TKO due to strikes in the third round.^[14]

Following the Strikeforce bout, Akano returned to Japan and faced Miki Morifuji at Jewels 4th Ring. She defeated Morifuji by armbar in the second round.^[15]

Akano faced Hiroko Yamanaka for the second time at Jewels 7th Ring on March 19, 2010. She lost the fight by Split Decision.^[16]

Akano was part of the one-night Strikeforce 135-pound women's tournament on August 13, 2010 at Strikeforce Challengers: Riggs vs. Taylor.^[17] A random drawing was held on the day of the weigh-ins to determine first-round matchups^[18] and Akano faced Carina Damm in the opening round of the tournament.^[19]

Akano submitted Damm with a triangle armbar in the second round to advance to the tournament final. She faced Miesha Tate and was defeated by Unanimous Decision.^[20]

Akano was scheduled to face Roxanne Modafferi at World Victory Road Presents: Soul of Fight on December 30, 2010,^[21] but the fight was cancelled after Modafferi suffered a stomach illness and was unable to compete.^[22][23]

Akano faced Chisa Yonezawa at Pancrase Impressive Tour 2 on March 13, 2011 in Osaka, Japan.^[24] She defeated Yonezawa by armbar submission in just 40 seconds.^[25]

Akano then faced Roxanne Modafferi in a bout rescheduled for Jewels 15th Ring on July 9, 2011.^[26] She defeated Modafferi by Unanimous Decision.^[27]

Akano faced Olympian Sara McMann at ProElite 3 on January 21, 2012.^[28] She was defeated by unanimous decision.^[29]

Akano is scheduled to face Alexis Davis at Invicta Fighting Championships 2 on July 28, 2012.^[30]
