Displaced Somalis pour into Dadaab refugee camps
Thousands of Somali refugees fleeing drought in their home country are continuing to pour into the Dadaab refugee camp in neighbouring Kenya. People have lost their homes, their livestock and their livelihoods. Many are preparing to be at Dadaab for a long time to come. Although Somalia is the worst affected by the drought in the Horn of Africa, some 12 million people across the region are also at risk. Nazanine Moshiri reports from Dadaab in North East Kenya.

Meeting Dadaab's education demands
Meeting the education needs of over 200000 people in the Dadaab refugee camp has proven difficult for aid agencies in Kenya. Of the more than 450000 people in the camp, the world's largest, half are under the age of 18, a fact which has challenged the ability of aid agencies to provide adequate education. Al Jazeera's Peter Greste reports from Dadaab.

Dadaab
Though the international spotlight has moved on, hundreds of thousands of Somali refugees in the Dadaab camps in northwestern Kenya, the largest refugee camps in the world, continue to struggle amid harsh conditions and pervasive malnutrition, particularly among children. Aid has been too slow in coming, however, and longer-term solutions are nowhere to be found.

Kenya: Dadaab Refugee Camp After Twenty Years
Dadaab, the world's largest refugee camp is located in Kenya and recently marked its 20th year in existence. When built, it was only supposed to be open for a few months and was intended to host up to 90000 refugees. Today, 20 years later, it holds nearly half a million people including thousands of third-generation refugees born in the camps. To help the refugees living in Dadaab, visit: www.UNRefugees.org

Through this video "The children of Dadaab: Life through the Lens" I wanted to tell the story of the Somali children living in Kenya's Dadaab. Motherhood in Dadaab
The worst drought in 60 years has left more than 13 million people in the Horn of Africa dependent on emergency aid for survival. The hardest hit area is southern Somalia, where chronic instability and violence have transformed a grave emergency into a catastrophic famine. Countless families are being broken up as mothers and children leave Somalia in search of relief while their husbands stay behind to care for relatives who are too old, too sick, or too weak from hunger to flee. These heroic women and their families are survivors of the century's biggest humanitarian emergency. Meet Samuel Loewenberg: Dadaab Refugee Camps
Learn More: pulitzercenter.org The Dadaab refugee camps in Kenya used to take in thousands of refugees crossing the Somali border monthly. But since the camps' closure in 2008, many Somalians aren't able to seek refuge from the drought and conflict in Somalia and have scattered around the outskirts of the camp. Pulitzer Center grantee Samuel Loewenberg discusses the conditions of Somalian refugees in Kenya in his project "The Not-Inevitable Crisis: Why 9 Million Are Hungry in East Africa" (bit.ly

Famine in Africa: ITV News at the Dadaab Refugee camp
The UN has held emergency talks on the Somalian famine as aid struggles to get through to the millions of people starving to death. ITV News is starting start a week of special reports looking at the desperate struggle to treat the sick. At the sprawling Dadaab camp in Kenya there are just three hospitals to treat 400000 refugees. One of them is Hagadera Hospital run by humanitarian agency the International Rescue Committee. It is responsible for 100000 refugees but has just 120 beds. Doctors have to deal with 70 patients a day. Many of them are children suffering from acute malnutrition. Newsround: Dadaab Refugee Camp
I visited the Dadaab Refugee camp in Kenya earlier this year for a special Newsround programme on CBBC. It's the biggest refugee camp in the world. Thousands of people turn up every single week looking for food and water. Many of the families are trying to escape the famine and drought in neighbouring Somalia. On my journey, I got to know Aden. He's in his 20's now, but moved to Dadaab from Somalia when he was just 5-years-old. Here is his story.
