Akorn is a Louisiana-based corporation founded in 1971 in Abita Springs. In 1997, we relocated our corporate headquarters to the Chicagoland area. We operate FDA-licensed pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities in Decatur, Illinois and Somerset, New Jersey, a R&D center in Vernon Hills, Illinois and a distribution warehouse in Gurnee, Illinois.
