1st Millennium - Polarice (trance made with Logic Pro 9)
1st Millennium - Polarice Well, here is my second piece of music for my latest album "New Beginnings". I think I improved on this one over my first piece, "New Beginnings" and I think this song is a lot more "danceable". I'm no elek3ctii, but I did use more this time around. I finally got my M-Audio Axiom Pro 61 and some VSTs that I used to make this piece. No loops were used as usual (well, starting with my change in music genre) and I hope you enjoy it!

Millennium School 2008 1st Place Winning Design
The Millennium Schools competition serves as an inspiring story of what can be done when the right groups work together in pursuit of a common goal. It is hoped that the project will inspire and fuel the drive of a new generation of architects, planners, and designers to put their heads together and develop a solution for the Design Against the Elements challenge. Architect Eleena Jamil of Malaysia, was selected as the grand winner for the Millennium School competition; the winning design was recently built in Camarines Sur, Philippines.

Millennium Force -- Coaster Of A Century
Song: Just What I Needed - The Cars Cedar Point had already made a name for themselves as a worldreknowned place for coaster enjoyment. In 1989 they became home to the first coaster to break the 200 foot barrier. In 1994, Cedar Point became home to the award winning Inverted Roller Coaster, Raptor. Cedar Point had already been a widely popular resort, but they needed something shattering to seal the deal as the best amusement park in the world. In the winter of 1999, the first ride to break the 300 foot barrier would be built, making it the tallest roller coaster in the world. The speed of the ride would also be unbelievable, as it would pass speeds of 90 mph, which was unheard of. The ride shocked riders on opening day, which was reported to be complete pandemonium. Waits have been reported to have been as high as 5 hours for Millennium Force, and it is still one of the most popular rides in the country. Designed by Intamin AG, Millennium Force was designed to do everything as new as possible. It uses a magnetic breaking system for the final break run, which is Cedar Point's way of conserving space. The lift is essentially an elevator lift, cutting the time on the lift hill in half of what it would normally be. The track structure was also different. The ride has been so well maintained that it's still as smooth as silk after nearly 10 years! It impresses a lot of people that Millennium Force is 10 years old, but it impresses even more people that the ride has never left ...

Madurai - TamilNadu - South India - 2011
www.oochappan.be Madurai is one of the oldest cities of India, with a history dating all the way back to the Sangam period of the pre Christian era. The glory of Madurai returned in a diminished form in the earlier part of this millennium; it later on came under the rule of the Vijayanagar kingdom after its ransack by the ravaging armies of Delhi (Malik Kafur). During the 16th and 18th centuries, Madurai was ruled by the Nayak Emperors, the foremost of whom was Tirumalai Nayakar. The Sangam period poet Nakkeerar is associated with some of the Tiruvilayaadal episodes of Sundareswarar - that are enacted as a part of temple festival traditions even today. The Sangam age or the Golden age of Tamil literature -- produced masterpieces way back in the Pre christian era and in early 1st millennium . Madurai was the seat of the Tamil Sangam or Academy of learning. The entire city of Madurai, is built around the Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple -- the temple par excellence. Concentric rectangular streets surround the temple, symbolizing the structure of the cosmos. Many people come to Madurai to visit the famous Meenakshi Temple and the Jallikattu but the real high points of Madurai life you will find on the countryside and around the temple in the city. photos Madurai : www.flickr.com

Biafra Nigerian minister speaks in French 1970 Chief Ralph Uwechue
Nigeria (Listeni /naɪˈdʒɪəriə/), officially the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is a federal constitutional republic comprising thirty-six states and its Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The country is located in West Africa and shares land borders with the Republic of Benin in the west, Chad and Cameroon in the east, and Niger in the north. Its coast in the south lies on the Gulf of Guinea on the Atlantic Ocean. The three largest and most influential ethnic groups in Nigeria are the Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba. In terms of religion Nigeria is roughly split half and half between Muslims and Christians with a very small minority who practice traditional religion. The people of Nigeria have an extensive history. Archaeological evidence shows that human habitation of the area dates back to at least 9000 BCE.[7] The area around the Benue and Cross River is thought to be the original homeland of the Bantu migrants who spread across most of central and southern Africa in waves between the 1st millennium BCE and the 2nd millennium. The name Nigeria was taken from the Niger River running through the country. This name was coined by Flora Shaw, the future wife of Baron Lugard, a British colonial administrator, in the late 19th century. Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa, the seventh most populous country in the world, and the most populous country in the world in which the majority of the population is black. It is listed among the "Next Eleven" economies, and is a member of ...

Sun Tzu The Art Of War 2/10
he Art of War is attributed to Sun Tzu, and it was originally called 孫子兵法(pinyin: Sunzi Bingfa), or simply 孫子Sun Tzu. It presents a philosophy of war for managing conflicts and winning battles. Contrary to popular belief, it contains not only the writings of the original author, but also commentary and clarifications from later military philosophers, such as Li Quan and Du Mu. It is accepted as a masterpiece on strategy and frequently cited and referred to by generals and theorists since its publication, translation and distribution the world over.[4] Of the texts written before the unification of China in the 2nd century BC, six major works survived, including The Art of War. During the Song Dynasty in the early 1st millennium AD, the six works were combined with a Tang Dynasty text into a collection called the Seven Military Classics. As a central part of that compilation, The Art of War formed the foundations of orthodox military theory in China. Illustrating this point, the book was required reading to pass the tests needed for imperial appointment to military positions.[5] In the book, Sun Tzu uses language that may be unusual in a text on warfare and strategy. For example, the 11th chapter states that a leader must be "serene and inscrutable" and capable of comprehending "unfathomable plans". The meaning of such statements are clearer when interpreted in the context of Taoist thought and practice. Sun Tzu viewed the ideal general as an enlightened Taoist ...

Engineering an Empire - The Carthage
The Carthage was a major urban centre that has existed for nearly 3000 years on the Gulf of Tunis, developing from a Phoenician colony of the 1st millennium BC. It is currently a suburb of Tunis, Tunisia, with a population of 20715 (2004 Census). The first civilization that developed within the city's sphere of influence is referred to as Punic (a form of the word "Phoenician") or Carthaginian. The city of Carthage is located on the eastern side of Lake Tunis across from the centre of Tunis. According to Greek historians it was founded by Phoenician colonists from Tyre under the leadership of Elissa who was re-named (Queen Dido) in Virgil's Aeneid. It became a large and rich city and thus a major power in the Mediterranean. The resulting rivalry with Syracuse and Rome was accompanied by several wars with respective invasions of each other's homeland. Hannibal's invasion of Italy in the Second Punic War culminated in the Carthaginian victory at Cannae and led to a serious threat to the continuation of Roman rule over Italy; however, Carthage emerged from the conflict weaker after Hannibal's defeat at the Battle of Zama in 202 BC. After the Third Punic War, the city was destroyed by the Romans in 146 BC. However, the Romans refounded Carthage, which became the Empire's fourth most important city and the capital of the short-lived Vandal kingdom. It remained one of the most important Roman cities until the Muslim conquest when it was destroyed a second time in AD 698. Please ...
