ExCali VTPR Glider #1 at Ellwood Mesa
Here is the first video produced for our new glider project, the ExCali.
The ExCali was inspired by the Excalibur VTPR glider designed by Eric Poulain of Brittany, France. We are blending what we have learned from the ultralight Le Fish and Swiss Fish projects into the larger 2.5m Excalibur planform.
This video shows the first of what will be multiple ExCali prototypes. The prototypes are being constructed from EPP but the final design is intended to have a fiberglass fuselage and foam sheeted wing.
This prototype has a 2.5m wingspan, weighs 1100g (38oz) and is built from EPP and laminating film with carbon fiber reinforcement. It was built by Swiss Peter and is flown in this video by myself, Steve 'surfimp' Lange.

Demo Video of a 35" span scratch built foamie RC airplane based on the incredibly popular BluBaby by Tony65x55 on RC Groups. Started by wondering what else we could do with this very versatile plane, and flipped the fuselage upside down, noting an interesting profile as a low wing plane. That eventually morphed into a "sort of" P51 Mustang look, enhanced by changes to the vertical and horizontal stabilizers and addition of a KFM3 airfoil aileron wing in the P51 type planform.
Current motor is relatively weak, so she's mostly a park flyer, but with a hotter motor, and 3s pack could be a rocket!

Animation to Rock morph
Figure 34-35 morph.
Structure produced by sinuous, out-of-phase bedforms; eolian deposits in the Navajo Sandstone (Upper Triassic? and Jurassic) near Snow Canyon, Utah. Dark spots on the outcrop are bushes approximately 1 m high. This structure is a close approximation of the computer-generated structures formed by bedforms with out-of- phase plan-form geometries.
