BC's Largest Fish Farmer to Cut 50 Jobs in the North Island
www.ctvvancouverisland.ca http BC's largest salmon farmer says it is cutting its workforce. More than 50 people on the North Island are going to lose their jobs. Marine Harvest says it needs to cut costs to remain competitive. The company says the amount of farmed salmon available on the world market is on the rise and that's leading to a significant drop in value for the fish. Wowowee In Canada News (CTV News)
What is CTV News? - CTV News has been named as the best local newscast in Atlantic Canada. - CTV News is the #1 rated local newscast in all key demographics. - CTV NEWS- Canada's most-watched news team is also the most-honoured Wowowee is making it's first international stop in Winnipeg's MTS Centre. Wowowee is coming to Winnipeg. If you're saying "Wowow-what?", it means you may not be familiar with the hugely popular game show in the The Philippines. The move may be because Winnipeg has one of the largest Filipino communities in North America. The show is unlike any American game show that's on television right now. It features a lot of dancing, colourful outfits, and what you may think are bizarre contests. But of course, it wouldn't be a game show without some big prizes. Evelyn Glenn lives in Winnipeg and is a big fan of Wowowee. Before the show decided to travel abroad, she could only watch it on her satellite TV. She'll be in the dancing audience when the show begins at the MTS Centre on Sept. 28 "This is a chance to be a part of the history of Wowowee in Canada and it's here in Winnipeg," she told CTV's Jon Hendricks. "So i'm excited and I look forward to it." Glenn and other Winnipeg audience members in will have a chance to win prizes such as cars, cash and computers. And they'll also see a rising music star: 16-year-old singer Sha-reese. "She got her start in a singing contest in the Philippines, but she didn't win," explained Wowowee Winnipeg promoter Lala ...

CTV News Investigates Allegations Restaurant Not Paying Employees
www.ctvvancouverisland.ca http VICTORIA - He is one of Victoria's prominent restaurateurs and we went to see Duncan Morrison, operator of the Wharfside restaurant about allegations the restaurant owes an employee thousands of dollars. Beric Ofori is a former cook at the Wharfside who often worked overtime, but was paid only regular wages. "I work sometimes more than 60hrs," Ofori tells CTV News "The most time I work was 90hrs a week. It was quite, like, it was difficult on me but I needed the money." When the Wharfside laid off him off in December he collected his final paycheque signed by Duncan Morrison. "Mr. Morrison gave me the cheque personally, told me not to cash it until three days. I waited for three days, I cashed it, I needed it to pay for my January rent. I cashed it and I paid my rent. A week and a half later cheque was bounced," Orfori says. Someone had put a stop payment on the cheque. Ofori says he asked Morrison several times for the money to cover the check. "He calls my house and tells me he has money for me which is only $20 which I find is a little absurd," the former cook complains. We went with Beric Ofori to the Wharfside to ask Duncan Morrison about the allegations. He walked away saying he would discuss the issue "privately". When CTV News reporter Stephen Andrew showed Morrison documents submitted to BC's Employment Standards, Morrison grabbed the microphone trying to wrestle it from the reporter. Although Morrison didn't want to talk to Ctv ...

CTV News: Dr Srdja Trifkovic deported from Canada
February 24, 2011 (SYL) - Serbian-American professor Dr Srdja Trifkovic was denied access into Canada after being accused of holding a senior position in the Government of Republika Srpska during the Bosnian war by the Vancouver airport immigration authorities. Srdja, who was a foreign affairs expert with links in the Bosnian Serb Government, never held any position in that Government, let alone a senior one. The fabricated reason for deportation was likely the result of lobbying by the extremist organization "The Institute for Research of Genocide in Canada", which is notorious for inventing stories, such as the disproven lie that Canadian General MacKenzie raped a Bosnian woman at a time when he wasn't even in Bosnia, as well as denying the Holocaust in Yugoslavia during World War II. Also, there are strong indications that higher factors in the Canadian government are involved in this scandalous and dark chapter in Canadian history, the investigation is under way.

Paul Watson Sea Shepherd CTV News Interview - DFO Newfoundland Seal Hunt Sealer News
Paul Watson of Sea Shepherd on CTV News Interview regarding DFO Newfoundland Seal Hunt and disposition of the Farley Mowat. Paul Watson successfully debunks the DFO, exposes lies of Department of Fisheries Minister Loyola Hearn, and discredits myths and false propaganda put forth by Newfoundland Sealers. The Canadian DFO hurts Canadian citizens. The DFO is a militant organization that surreptitiously docks the paychecks of 33 million Canadians and gives it to a tiny special interest group of fanatic lobbyist seal killers against the will of the Nation. This small pack of extremist killers makes up less than 1/100th of 1% of Canada but they cause more harm to Canada than any other group. Newfoundland sealers cause international disgust against their own Country, and seal clubbers bring stink upon the Flag. Newfoundland Seal Hunters hurt the native Inuit people who are Not involved in the commercial seal hunt. And sealers attempt to poison fellow canadian citizens by enticing people to eat toxic seal meat & tainted omega3 oil which is contaminated with Mercury, and polychlorinated biphenyls which cause anyone eating seal meat to risk brain tissue damage, lowered IQ, and anyone who eats seal meat or ingests seal oil to give birth to deformed children with learning disabilities. All good Canadians and True patriots do not support the Seal hunt. Only those who wish to harm the nation support the seal hunt atrocities.
