Launch of the UNDP-GEF Timor-Arafura Seas Project
An action plan to address threats to fisheries and living marine resources in the Arafura and Timor Seas, has attracted US$2.65 million in support from the Global Environment Facility and US$5.45 million in co-financing from the Indonesian, Timor Leste and Australian Government. The Arafura and Timor Seas Ecosystem Action (ATSEA) program launched at the 5th GEF International Waters Conference will develop a Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis which will assess the current state of the environment and resources in the Arafura and Timor Seas, including pressures, threats and impacts from over-exploitation, pollution and climate change. This will form the basis for the development and agreement on a multi-lateral Strategic Action Program (SAP) that will see the three countries working together in the sustainable management of their shared seas. Papua New Guinea will be invited to join the project. One high priority is illegal, unregulated and unreported fishing, and this will be tackled by the development of alternative sustainable livelihoods for coastal people. ARA 11/12/2010 Prediction Tennant Creek Flare out
This is not a fool proof way of predicting earthquakes, cyclones or large storms but it seems the radars pick up atmospheric changes from 1 to 8 days before ( mostly 5 days ) a larger earthquake, or cyclone or some major earth event happens somewhere on the planet. These Australian Radar Atmospheric Anomalies (ARAA ) changes may co-incide with CME's ( coronal mass ejection from the sun)...causing solar winds , some of which are directed at the earth which then cause interferance with electronics.I am not sure yet but so far it seems to be the occurance..For a more indepth explanation on cme's check out thebarcarolla's youtube channel...OK so all that being said we will watch for a major event within a week. Most likely an earthquake 6 magnitude or stronger but not sure where .or possibly a Cyclone within the vicinity of the north eastern area of Australia ie coral sea or arafura sea..thankyou...much love.

West Papua - A Journey to Freedom
ajourneytofreedom.net WEST PAPUA - A JOURNEY TO FREEDOM encapsulates the political activism of Herman Wainggai, a young West Papuan independence leader and mentor of the non-violent students movement in West Papua, as he journeys from Melbourne, Australia, to an isolated refugee camp on the North Coast of Papua New Guinea. There under gentle coconut palms, in crystal blue waters, he deliberates with colleagues from the West Papua National Authority who've managed to escape from their occupied homeland for the week-long meeting. Herman has spent years working for the liberation of his homeland paradise and was twice a political prisoner of the Indonesian Republic. In 2006, he and forty-two other West Papuans, including several children, journeyed to Australia on a traditional double-outrigger canoe. Their odyssey, circumnavigating West Papua, crossing the treacherous Arafura sea, beaching on the west coast of Cape York Peninsula, impressed the global media, and when the Australian government recognized their application for asylum, the Indonesian government recalled its ambassador from Canberra. This is a documentary about non-violent resistance, courage in an undeclared war, loneliness in exile. It's about family, friendship, love, human rights, and great singing.

The Kamoro
The Kamoro, some 18000 people speaking the same language, live along the south coast of New Guinea, the worlds largest tropical island, located just north of Australia, across the shallow Arafura Sea. The Kamoro still follow a semi-nomadic existence, one of the few surviving hunter-gatherer groups in the world. Hunting forays still take place, but fishing is far more important. Indeed, the survival of the Kamoro depends on fishing, along with the sago, their starch staple. Fish and sago are the main Kamoro staples providing protein and starch. The film follows the traditional Kamoro, who's life-style fits perfectly with the bountiful resources that nature provides for them, such as fishing, collecting shellfish, hunting for monitor lizards, gathering the slimy tambelo, and sago production among lots more.
