Matilda The Musical - Trailer
Tickets ow.ly | Facebook ow.ly | Youtube ow.ly | Twitter ow.ly | Podcast ow.ly ***** Times, Daily Telegraph, Evening Standard, Sunday Telegraph, Daily Mail 'The RSC's new musical version of Roald Dahl's Matilda is a triumph: enchanting, bold and ingenious' Evening Standard 'The show only ended an hour ago, and I'm already longing to see it again' Daily Telegraph Following a sensational sell-out season at The Courtyard Theatre, the RSC's production of MATILDA THE MUSICAL transfers to London's West End this October. Roald Dahl's much-loved story bursts into life on stage in this brand new musical version by Dennis Kelly and award-winning musician and comedian Tim Minchin. Children and adults alike will be thrilled and delighted by the story of the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination. Her parents think she is a nuisance and she thinks, quite rightly, they are only interested in watching telly. Life is not much better at school, where the monstrous headmistress Miss Trunchbull terrifies both students and teachers alike. Then one day Matilda discovers she has a very special power and decides it's time the grown-ups were taught a lesson. Be warned, the children are revolting... MATILDA THE MUSICAL previews at the Cambridge Theatre from 18 October.

**** The Times **** The Daily Telegraph **** Evening Standard **** The Independent **** The Daily Express **** The Sunday Times John Crowley directs JM Synge's irreverent comic masterpiece starring Niamh Cusack (Cause Célèbre at The Old Vic), Ruth Negga (Hamlet and Phèdre at the National Theatre) and Robert Sheehan (E4's Misfits). This savagely funny Irish classic was first produced in 1907 and was met with rioting and controversy when it premiered, sending shock waves across the dramatic world. Set in a small village in the west coast of County Mayo, The Playboy of the Western World is a lyrical comedy which tells the story of lonely dreamer Christy Mahon who wanders into a pub, claiming that he has killed his father. Captivating the locals with his tale of bravery he becomes an instant hero but it turns out that there's an unexpected twist in his tale. Ralph Lauren 4D advert New Bond Street 10 November 2010 8.30pm
Ralph Lauren's 50ft models to stop New Bond Street traffic in 4D fashion spectacular on 10 November 2010, 8.30pm "One of New Bond Street's most impressive buildings will be transformed into a giant 4D experience tonight when Ralph Lauren unveils groundbreaking technology. The firm has closed streets and is expecting thousands to witness the event at 8.30pm, which it claims is the first of its kind. The storefront will "vanish" as all the lights are turned off, and will then appear to explode as a giant polo pony — from Prince Charles's team — runs out of it. The firm's logo is a polo player. The pony will be followed by 50ft models and a fountain of perfume during the eight-minute film. Sound and the mist of scent — the fourth dimension — will enhance the experience. Ralph Lauren himself appears, apparently waving from a window of the six-storey building before his name is flashed up in huge red letters. His son David said the experience would be "game-changing". He added: "It blows my mind — it changes the way we look at architecture; it will change retail, movies, advertising, everything." As engineers added the finishing touches in the early hours today, Evening Standard reporter Rob Parsons was there to watch the rehearsal. He said the cascade of petals was so realistic he expected a pile to accumulate on the ground. Passers-by were initially confused and then stood and stared at the spectacle." wrote Evening Standard today. But it was quite disappointing experience ...
