Young and in Love

Young and In Love is the 1979 debut album by American singer Stacy Lattisaw. Released on August 2, 1979 by Cotillion Records (a subsidiary of Atlantic Records) when Lattisaw was 12 years old. The lead single peaked at number 91 on the U.S. Soul charts. The album was produced by Van McCoy, one of his final projects before his death from a heart attack. Also, the title track is a cover of the hit 1964 song by Ruby & the Romantics.

The song was also released in the United Kingdom as a single, but it did not chart. The song was featured on their 1963 album, Young and in Love.

Synopsis

Jane (Kathryn Bernardo), a die-hard fan, wants to win tickets to Billy Fernandez's (Daniel Padilla) concert. To do this she must answer the question, "What would you do if it was the end of the world?" In search for this answer she meets different people with different love stories: a 40-year-old virgin named Virginia (Pokwang) who meets a gigolo named Charles (Sam Milby); a hopeless romantic secretary, Barbara (Maja Salvador) who is helping her boss, Ken (Diether Ocampo) with "personal issues"; Belle (Bea Alonzo) who is in love with her gay best-friend, Butch (Zanjoe Marudo), an advertising executive; Verna (Angelica Panganiban) who falls in love with Jane's older brother, Elvis (John Lloyd Cruz), a waiter in Vietnam; Jomar (Zaijan Jaranilla) an orphan who is trying to court Ayie (Xyriel Manabat) with the help of a 35-year-old mentally-challenged man named Pipoy (Piolo Pascual); Patty (Kim Chiu) who traces her first love, Alvin (Gerald Anderson) to become an underwear model for her company.

When You're Young

"When You're Young" was released as a one-off single by The Jam. Released on 25 August 1979, it charted at number 17 in the UK Singles Chart. The B-side, "Smithers-Jones", is widely considered to be Jam bassist Bruce Foxton's finest song-writing moment and also appears – with an orchestral arrangement – on the band's 1979 album Setting Sons.

"When You're Young" is the first single from 3 Doors Down's fifth studio album, Time of My Life. The single was released to iTunes on February 1, 2011. It is now their 10th top 10 single on the mainstream rock chart.

3 Doors Down lead singer Brad Arnold said of the song, "I think it's a song that a lot of people can identify with. There's somebody out there who needs to hear this song, and I hope they hear it. So many times, older people look at young kids and say, "Enjoy this time! It's the best time of your life," when it's really not. Being young is hard. Everything's in front of you for the first time. Those things that are in front of you seem so much bigger than they do when you're looking back on them. I'm 32 now and looking back on my teenage years and before, a lot of it doesn't seem as hard as it did then because now it's behind me and I hardly remember it.
